The Association for Anarchism Studies in Hiroshima decided at the ‘August 6th Gathering’ [date of the atomic-bombing in that city] this year to invite a wide range of people with an interest in anarchism from within and without Japan to the ‘August 6th Gathering’ of 2015, as it will be 70 years since the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and since Japan lost the war.
Welcoming this invitation, the Kansai anarchism studies group has decided to participate in organizing the ‘August 6th Gathering’ along with the Hiroshima anarchism research group, and would like to specifically call out to people with an interest in anarchism outside of Japan.
The Kansai anarchism studies group is accepting applications to the 2015 ‘August 6th Gathering.’ If you would like to participate please contact us by emailing the address below. We are also accepting applications from groups or individuals who are able to participate as co-organizers of this event along with us. (more…)

Program of 8th Balkan Anarchist Bookfair: Over the Walls of Nationalism
Eighth Balkan Anarchist Bookfair will take place in Mostar on 5th and 6th of September 2014 as part of Anti-Fascist festival, annual Mostar event.
We invite all anarchist/antiauthoritarian groups, individuals, publishers, initiatives and projects from Balkan (and beyond) to come and participate at BAB in discussions and meetings which will help us build solidarity networks and strong anti-nationalist and anti-capitalist movement. Mostar in many ways represent misery that is imposed on big part of Balkan through divisions created by nationalism, war and fight for power between political elites which were and still are working on destruction of all social
networks in town that go beyond these artificial “differences”. All this fits perfect to capitalist logic of “divide and rule”, since it’s used as tool for prevention of all social revolts and attempts to build up social connections that were violently broken. (more…)

Inter Arma received and translated:
Mediocrity kills. For us there is no middle road. Whoever says is an anarchist, faces a decisive dilemma either to act or to clam up and abandon anarchy. Because anarchy at the tail-end of legality and minced words is not possible.

I. Symbolisms inside coincidences
After almost two years the third trial of the state against the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire is coming to its end. The theatrical show of the court is peaking through the “sacred” act of the apologies.
The symbolism of the words in not coincidental. Indeed for the legal civilization the apology is considered to be a “sacred” right of the accused. It reminds the confession of the worshiper to the priest. It is the supreme moment of exaltation of the judicial authority, before the verdict. The accused is required to kowtow his judges (coincidentally, in greece there is a christian image of the “Son of God” above the judges’ heads. The coincidences are left to each one’s insigh) and beg for the forgiveness of penal sins, for clemency or even for vindication. In the language of symbolisms we have always preferred the heretic iconoclasts instead of the Inquisition’s justice. In the world of reality we are anarcho-nihilists and we are not going to apologize to any judge. (more…)

A brief update on the present situation, received from the Chilean comrades:
Spread the revolt for the total liberation with all forms of struggle, and against all authority!!
In the last few weeks, we have seen through the media how the Powerful have initiated a new offensive against the anti-authoritarian/anarchist community. Once again, we can see how the newspapers and news channels have propagated the idea of trapping those responsible for various arson attacks and explosions that have taken place since 2011.
Alleged suspects are turned into convicts through the media, with the end of validating future repressive waves unto so-called “public opinion,” unleashing possible identities, accusations, and investigative lines.
This is not a new context considering the continuation of strategies that those in power have developed throughout history to annihilate all forms of radical expression and revolutionary struggle. Moreover, we have a recent case in 2010 that unleashed a mass media campaign that prepared the way to “Operation Salamandra” led by then Prosecutor Peña, through which many homes, social centres, squat houses were raided under charges for the alleged [Chilean Anarchist] “Bombs Case”. The accused spent a year in prison and ended up being absolved by the Courts due to lack of evidence. (more…)

On July 16th, 2014 the armed dogs of the establishment unleashed a fierce manhunt, and comrade Nikos Maziotis, member of the Revolutionary Struggle, was hit by a cop’s bullet and fell covered in blood. The comrade gave his battle against the cops that were chasing him. The state apparatus in its totality triumphed over the arrest of the “No 1 most-wanted fugitive” in the country. So did the criminal and real archi-terrorist Samaras, whose government took over the reins from the former pro-memorandum governments in a campaign for the biggest social genocide that has ever occurred in Greece in a time of “peace”. Samaras has used the arrest of Maziotis as a means to the stabilization of his faltering government, in order to support a political and economic regime with rotten foundations, which has long been discredited in social consciences.
For the political and economic regime, not only in Greece but also internationally, the arrest of a revolutionary with the political calibre of Nikos Maziotis is a “significant success”, as stated by the United States. That’s because the comrade’s arrest is perceived by our enemies as a blow to the struggle for the establishment’s subversion, as a blow to the struggle for liberation from the yoke of capitalism and the State, as a blow to the struggle for social Revolution. The size of threat that Maziotis poses to the establishment is reflected in the high-pitched nauseating rejoicing on the part of the domestic and foreign political power. Because the comrade and the Revolutionary Struggle, the organization in which he belongs, are intrinsically linked to the systemic political destabilization, to the undermining of a rotten regime; linked to the consistent war against domination and contemporary barbarity; linked to the struggle for the overthrow of the State and capitalism, linked to the social Revolution itself. Comrade Nikos Maziotis was and continues to be committed to the Revolution. This is what he has fought for, this is what he still fights for; this is why they present him as No 1 danger to the establishment. Thus, the political gravity of this case should be the primary parameter in expressing solidarity with the comrade. (more…)

In the ongoing conflict, we support neither Ukrainian government nor pro-Russian factions that established their authority on the portion of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts. The working class (i.e. everyone who has neither power nor capital) is equally alien both to the concept of unitary Ukraine and to the ideas of ”federalization” or creation of new states — these are merely the games of politicians, drawing blood from ordinary people. We, the left and the anarchists, should primarily adhere to the needs of the working class in the war-torn regions of Ukraine, protect their rights and freedoms.
Against LPR and DPR!
Donetsk and Luhansk “people’s republics” are a collection of warring right-wing juntas. Rights and freedoms, which are granted to the rest of Ukraine, are not available in the territories under their control.
Public manifestation of political dissent is not possible there; worker rights activists who criticized DPR were kidnapped and tortured. Upon preservation of these regimes the working class will be completely deprived of any opportunity to defend their legal rights. The only possible form of the “left” activity in DPR and LPR is the ritual worship of Soviet symbols, which has nothing to do with the workers’ interests. (more…)

We, the Autonomous Cell for Revolutionary Class Struggle/Informal Anarchist
Federation/International Revolutionary Front, would like to announce our formation. We are ready to strike at the capitalist beast and it’s rotten state protectors. For in a city with a glamorous reputation and image like Hong Kong, the facade of success and business as usual is a slap in the face to the reality and the widening wealth gap and the alienation which this reality brings with it.
Around the world the forces of reaction are on the rise and so must it’s
counter-force be also. Through both planned and spontaneous attacks against the system and the spectacle we aim to bring resistance to this shit state of affairs. (more…)

On Mayday 2014 Anarchist Action Network is calling for anarchists to unite in One Common Struggle. We are calling on you to join fellow anarchists and remember the victims of the system’s oppression, take action against the symbols of the state and capitalism and hold events highlighting the need to struggle for a better world.
May Day was first celebrated as a day of international workers’ solidarity in 1890. It was called to commemorate the murder of four anarchist workers in Chicago by the US government.
On this May day in 2014 let us unite our struggles in looking back to the Anarchist origins of May Day and take action in memory of all who are dying every day at the hands of the capitalist system. Let us also remember those who have died or been imprisoned fighting it. From the Mayday Anarchists in Chicago to Carlo, the young man executed by police at the 2001 Genoa summit against the G8. Right now in the UK there is an all out assault on activists involved in the animal rights movement, one of whom was sentenced today to a 6 year prison sentence for ‘conspiring to blackmail’ Huntingdon Life Sciences. Dozens more AR activists are facing political trials in the UK as the law continues to be used to protect corporate power against public anger. For more details see here. Mayday is a time to show our solidarity against a system that kills and imprisons in order to keep us in chains. (more…)
‘Call for papers’ for Interference gathering on society and technology August 15-17 2014 (Netherlands)
Friday, April 25th, 2014
1. preventing (a process or activity) from continuing or being carried out properly.
2. the combination of two or more electromagnetic waveforms to form a resultant wave in which the displacement is either reinforced or cancelled.
Interference is a gathering of people, perspectives, theories, and actions that share a critical approach to society and technology. It will take place at the Binnenpret in Amsterdam, NL from 15th to the 17th of August 2014. It will be a space where we can meet, debate, share, learn, and find our affinities and oppositions. The event comes as a response to the lack of a common ground for confrontation and discussion over themes like hacking, technology, art and politics that could break out of the existing containers and roles for such concepts and practices.
Interference is not a hacker conference. From a threat to the so-called national security, hacking has become an instrument for reinforcing the status quo. Fed up with yet another recuperation, the aim is to re/contextualize hacking as a conflictual praxis and release it from its technofetishist boundaries. Bypassing the cultural filters, Interference wants to take the technical expertise of the hacking scene out of its isolation to place it within the broader perspective of the societal structures it shapes and is part of. A Call from the Destroika for a Fantastic Convergence of Resistance
From issue-less “days of action” to inconsequential general strikes, the recent struggles in Greece, Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal invariably seem to stumble over the limit of their own national frame of reference. The standpoint of the nation, long considered synonymous with political activity per se, be it that of the State or one or another revolutionary party, has revealed itself as being the very scale of our own collective powerlessness. It is this powerlessness, turned against itself, that fuels the fire of so many nationalist resentments. (more…)
