No experience can be summarized with a bit of ink and paper.
Even less the experience of someone who decided to provoke the dominators with every possible way and any place. There are no pages which can effectively illustrate someone who died while fighting against authority. Inside these pages therefore, is not the whole of Mauri’s life.
We do not condense all of his experiences and the moments our paths met.
We honestly desire that this is not the last collection of his writings.
We are not owners of his thoughts, the events he experienced or his analyses.
We hope that more material related to him will come to light, not as a fetish, not as a day on the calendar, but probably as a memory longing its moment.

325 receives and transmits:

Our new zine Return Fire is now available. It’s a diverse mix with liberatory aims, which we hope to be informative and inspiring for anyone who decides to make their life a weapon against the dominant order.

We present fresh content such as the new anti-psychiatry piece Fucked Off Not Fucked Up by V.Q., updates on modern surveillance and alienation (New Technologies, New Control), an article situating the ongoing Sealife Deformities from the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill within the industrial catastrophe everywhere, and ‘The State Always Has a Conspiracy… Have You?’ from some U.K. irreducibles on refusal, illegality and attack, and more.

The zine includes the full-length pieces Fukushima’s Fallout On My Soul, Alex Gorrion examining the anti-social tension in We Want to Be Great Like Our Crime through reviewing Isabelle Eberhardt and Renzo Novatore, an English version of the claim by an ‘International Revolutionary Front’ cell taking responsibility for the Vehicle Bomb at the Headquarters of Microsoft, Athens, during June 2012, the classic critiqué Nature as Spectacle, and Auschwitz-Disneyland translated from the French-language journal La Mauvaise Herbe.

We’ve also reproduced excerpts from others texts we consider valuable. These include parts of the founding statement by ‘Cultural Terrorists’ of the ASIF subversive women’s group (on surrealism and the rejection of forced femininity) along with other historical pieces of interest, considerations on informal anarchism and ‘The Organised Minority Structure’ by the then-captives of the ‘Vyrona 4′ case, thoughts on the anguish of romantic co-dependency in ‘Can’t Live Without You’, anti-prison polemic ‘An Hourglass That Kills Slowly’ by Random Anarchists in London, observations on the reduced capacity for autonomy under mechanised life (‘The Loss of Competence’, by Crystalised Ginger), alongside selected other words that recently came out of the U.K…

…As well as many more articles, imprisoned but undefeated voices from Rebels Behind Bars, snatches of Poems for Love, Loss & War (from V.Q., Claudia López, Severino di Giovanni and more), information on Wild Plants for edible and medicinal purposes, and scattered news and communiqués from the Global Flash Points of radical action from the winter of 2012-2013.

We hope that the intent throughout is as clear as we intended: that is, against civilisation and domination, for anarchy and wildness.

Attached to this announcement is a PDF file of the editorial piece which you can download.

What follows is a conversation between the imprisoned members of the CCF and a number of anarchists from Mexico. The questions are asked by various comrades of the country, not only by those of the editorial group Conspiración Ácrata. We thank the comrades who helped us with the huge job of translation from Greek into Spanish, and the comrades who helped us in making the conversation with the imprisoned comrades possible. Solidarity greetings to all of them and to our comrades of the CCF!

This dialogue came out for the first time in May 2012, in Spanish, in the Mexican anarchist magazine Conspiración Ácrata.

It is late, but I still want to congratulate all the comrades and friends with May Day and the Day of Liberation of the world from the Nazi threat in the memorable days of 1945. The symbolism of the holidays for me is still an important part of those ideas that I live for, although already the second year in a row I am unable to take part in their celebrations. But even in prison, they are life-affirming, as most of the people who surround me here could stand with me in the same column in freedom, shoulder to shoulder.

If we do not take into account the corrupted officials, prison is packed with representatives of the working class, who consist a broad international. This is nothing surprising, as the situation was the same at all times. And, of course, in prison there is a higher portion of discontents than in any other part of our society, but also many of those who do not intend to attempt to change anything in it because of the same lack of organization and lack of consciousness as in the rest of the society (I am not talking about the criminal world, which has its own discipline and a clear hierarchy). And while people here are always willing to discuss the revolutionary ideas (as time for it is enough), it is very difficult to bring everyone to a common denominator. I think this is due to huge amount of problems, which must be solved together with everyone, and throughout the society, as well as a lack of knowledge about structure of the society and its function.

But I am glad that ideas of libertarian communism are met here with only positive response, in contrast to the current unfinished democracy. We should pay more attention to the expansion of our movement not only due to young people from the subculture, which should have become a counter-culture a long time ago, but also to agitate among migrant workers, who have long since become part of the Russian society, but have not yet become part of the anarchist movement. Their protest takes a form of the poison of the dangerous totalitarian ideas of the Islamic fundamentalism, which is increasingly infecting their community. Such a struggle with the authorities is no way to a freedom for all of us. Religion in conjunction with the state is only able to prohibit and imprison. We also need positive initiatives attempts, aimed at socialization of the people who need protection from government institutions and xenophobia, in a libertarian spirit. There are many concrete practices for this – from education projects and cultural integration to learning self-defense against the Nazi street gangs.

Hence, from behind the walls of the Butyrka prison, during the year I have spent here I see the state becoming more and more fascist, with it increasing the corporate power, making life impossible for small and medium businesses. Already a long time ago the state took over control of large production and development of natural resources, crushed civic organizations and opposition. Our state is administered by officers of the security services and oligarchs loyal to them.

In the current situation, our position about the necessity of the complete political independence of the anarchist movement and power of its idea becomes more and more clear. Only independence will contribute to our success, while the liberal opposition is unable to fight back effectively, plain and clear. This is an obvious conclusion from the current state of affairs. Of course, we should not abolish our work inside opposition structures. But, as the arrest of our comrade Alexey Gaskarov, even a member of Coordination Council of opposition may be repressed by the security services and prosecutor’s committee, especially if he is a political radical.

I wish you success and victory in the upcoming struggles! Less internal ideological strife, let there be a united beautiful red-and-black column of revolutionary anarchists in our streets!

15th of May 2013
Alexey “Sokrat”

Read #1 here.

As the campaign period for the May 13 polls heated up on its last day on Saturday, cab driver told that, “I am not excited to vote. Every three years, I keep hearing the same promises from the same people, who keep breaking their promises every two years. Old and new politicians are alike. They want to remain in power forever. They don’t serve the people.”

He referred to the ruling elite, whose members have been well entrenched in politics. Although dynasty and traditional politicians have become dirty words in this year’s polls, critics were not strong and proactive to allow change of candidates. In a depressed area near a river in suburban Quezon City, unemployed voters and poor residents have formed groups, like herds, to receive gifts — consisting of money and grocery items — from handlers of candidates. “Vote-buying is both a blessing and a headache for all parties concerned,” said Gemma de la Cruz at East Riverside.

Gift giving from traditional politicians has become systematic and secretive to avoid being reported by more modern and anti-corruption candidates that could lead to disqualifications from the Commission on Elections. Previous Philippine elections have also been marred by massive vote-buying, cheating, intimidations and the unabashed display of power and influence of political dynasties in Philippine politics.

FOOD NOT BOMBS AND FREE MARKET AGAINST ELECTION

While the politicians and their supporters are busy securing power for their own benefit; Local Autonomous Network (LAN) and autonomous activists conducted Food Not Bombs and Free Market in Luneta Park, Manila. This is related to the autonomous group’s anti election campaign started early this year. Park guards harass the volunteers, they tried to stop the group who would like to share food to hungry families and homeless. Since the activists are committed to non-violent action, they transferred to the main road, the group’s propaganda materials became more visible to the public and motorists.

ANTI-ELECTION STATEMENT

Comrades in Indonesia did a lot of postering these recent nights, especially on the high-profile military case. There was in Jogja spray-painted slogans in some important parts of town.. Signing FAI/IRF and the urgency to revenge against the military and reading “Never forget – Never forgive. Kill Kopasus!”. The poster mostly reads about facts about military involvement in massacres for the sake of corporations and that people should not forget. Because in Jogja, some of the people believe that the forces who slaughter the prisoners are heroes, some sort of vigilantes who are crushing criminals and gangsters. Fuck them! Fuck society!

Background: There’s a killing of one of the Special Unit Forces members in a nightclub. Four people got arrested. They were strangely transferred to the prison very quickly. Four of them. One night, 2 trucks of special unit forces come to the prison heavily armed. They break into the prison and execute brutally the four prisoners.

May 15: Under the orders of the National Court judge Santiago Pedraz, the Mossos d’Esquadra [Catalan police] have searched the Llibertari Ateneo de Sabadell and, according to news reports citing police sources, have arrested five people, who are accused of “praising terrorism”.

On orders of the Spanish Court, the Catalan police have searched in the morning the Llibertari Ateneo de Sabadell (Barcelona), which serves as headquarters of the CNT and a place of meeting of Local 15-M.

The operation is led by Judge Santiago Pedraz, which has decreed the summary secret, so many facts of the operation remain unknown. Several media have claimed a total of five detainees, but this has not yet been confirmed. According to police sources quoted by various means, they are accused of “glorification of terrorism” and belonging to the group ‘Anarchist Black Flag’.

Several mainstream media reports state that there is a minimum of four searched premises, but at first in the afternoon there was only confirmed the Llibertari Ateneo de Sabadell.

Moncada Eviction
In the same morning the Mossos d’Esquadra were not finished in Sabadell, because not far from there, in Moncada, six Catalan police vans work from early morning to evict the occupied farmhouse Can Piella, where since 2009 the people conduct farming and community work. The activists have prepared a thorough resistance with a series of obstacles to the Mossos, so that the eviction has not yet come to an end at the time of writing. So far there have been five arrests.

*Invitation to an Anti-Capitalist Assembly in Montreal*

Monday May 27, 2013
1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Location: 7th Floor, Hall Building, Concordia University, 1455 de Maisonneuve Blvd West. This location is wheelchair-accessible.

Monday May 27 2013, after the annual Montreal Anarchist Bookfair, we hope to create a space where anti-capitalist allies from all over can reunite to discuss and reflect together, and to talk about what keeps us busy in the different cities where we live.

This will allow us to articulate our struggles and link our actions. It will also be an opportunity to tell each other what’s coming and what we’re organizing this year, whether we want to visit one another, etc.

It will act as an occasion for us to sit down and (re-)launch a collective reflection on the ideas and actions that are on the table at the moment, to reinforce the links and networks woven over time, and to lay the groundwork for new affinities.

The agenda for the day will be as follows:
1:00-2:30 pm – Introductions, group presentations, deciding how to break into discussion sub-groups
2:30-3:30 pm – Discussions in sub-groups (based on divisions such as region, ideology, subject of struggle ie. environment, anti-colonialism, feminism, anti-repression, etc.
3:30-4:00 pm – Break
4:00-5:00 pm – Closing Plenary

We encourage you to confirm if you would like to attend and present on your plans for the year/updates on your projects etc. If you have particular discussion topics you would like to propose, you can still send them in advance. You’re also encouraged to bring your own promotional materials for upcoming events, although we will not have space for distro tables.

Naturally, there will be food to share, and whisper translation will be available between English and French. If you need childcare, please confirm at least 24 hours in advance so we will be able to provide it for you.

Because it’s a pleasure to see all those who struggle against all forms of oppression, who are active in a thousand different ways in building a movement rooted in a culture of solidarity and resistance against capitalism.

You know who you are. Join each other!

An invitation from CLAC-Montreal

For more information or to confirm that you will attend please contact:
letsgettogether@clac-montreal.net

————————————————————

* Invitation à une assemblée anti-capitaliste à Montréal *
