The Metropolitan Police arrested over 280 anti-fascist activists, local community members, and passersby in East London on 7 September, as up to 700 English Defence League supporters were allowed to march over Tower Bridge and rally at Aldgate without encountering any mass opposition.
A large community demonstration was restricted to Altab Ali Park, well out of sight of the EDL’s march route and rally point. A bloc of around 600 within the demonstration, coordinated by the Anti-Fascist Network (AFN), attempted to hold a march to get within sight of the EDL’s route and present a visible opposition, which was then blocked and kettled by police. Despite police attacks the front of the AFN bloc did manage to get within sight of the EDL march, meaning the only political opposition the racists saw on the day was a direct result of the AFN mobilisation. Two Moscow cells of ecoanarchists carried out a coordinated attack on highway construction site in eastern Moscow that ended in torching of two bulldozers. The action took place on 08/09/2013. First we came upon some construction workers who were busy burning fires at their wheeled houses near the forest. So initially we were tempted to fuck them up and torch their houses with tools and personal belongings. But turned out that our mutual desire to clean karma was stronger than inclination to spoil it, so we didn’t touch the slaves. We torched their vehicles.
As usual, we acted with impudence: we did our black deeds right in front of workers and passer-by car drivers. So we apologized to the guy who almost got into a traffic accident because flaming dozer hypnotized him so much.
We take this opportunity to remind you that roadworks at the site continue. Moscow region is teeming with projects like this one, when trees are uprooted and earth is covered in bitumen. The more roads there are – the less we got left to live. This is not okay with us. Good luck to those who are brave. Death to those who are not.
“To my goal I will go—on my own way; over those who hesitate and lag behind I shall leap. Thus let my going be their going under.” Friedrich Nietzsche
This open letter is not addressed to the official milieu and its weathered structures. I despise its stereotypes, the putrescent breaths of its fixation. I consider the “anarchist” milieu of bureaucrats to be an enclave of Power, as they reproduce the same authoritarian values. I have no intention to make public relations, nor do I desire any sort of solidarity or unofficial help from dignitaries and subordinates of the antiauthoritarian lifestyle.
I am addressing the minorities; those individualities who show their contempt and mockery of Domination and its servants, and do not hesitate to take the offensive against the essence of contemporary civilization; all those anarchists of praxis who align themselves with the FAI-informal network, and furiously orchestrate their destructive plans, causing vexation in the camp of the enemy. Black Petrograd festival will take place in St Petersburg, Russia, on November 2 – 4, 2013. The 10th annual anarchist festival will take three full days. This year, the programme will include less lectures and discussions, and more trainings and workshops, as well as presentations of libertarian projects and some interactive games. And naturally a gig by anarchist bands. Requests, offers and applications to participate are accepted
This video is filmed at Bike rally for Russian political prisoners arranged in Helsinki Finland on 7th September. Many of the by-passers cheered when the bike rally passed by. The demonstrators ringed their bells, chanted and played drums. The route started from Kolmen sepän patsas and ended in the Russian embassy in Tehtaankatu, where the demonstrators cycled around the embassy and afterwards listened few speeches of the situation of the political prisoners in Russia. Mainly the demonstration rally went well and with good ambience. Sadly when rally was ending (and when the video camera stopped recording) the police suddenly attacked and arrested six demonstrators.
Please join us for a follow-up discussion to our July 1st event, “On Jerry Koch, some stories of Political Repression, and Resistance“. In July we were joined by Tarik Haskins, Dequi Kioni-Sadiki, and Bob Lederer. For this event we’ve invited Eve Rosahn, Cisco Torres, and Laura Whitehorn, who will share their analyses and experiences in facing political repression as a result of revolutionary activity.
We learn today (8/9/13) that the comrades Stefano Gabriele Fosco and Elisa di Bernardo, arrested June 13, 2012 for the so-called “Operation Boldness” (‘Ardire’) were released today in response to a request to expiry terms. The companions, as well as Giuseppe and Alessandro who were released from prison in mid-June this year, are subject to the obligation of signing and mandatory residence. Sergio at this time remains in custody and he is the last prisoner of this repressive operation.
I think that now is the time to express my opinion on some things that have happened recently.
Starting, I would like to say that I remain imprisoned for 33 months without being sentenced by any court yet. This is, according to their laws, illegal, abusive, against the rules… As it is now known, the highest limit of pre-trial detention is 18 months. But, by deploying this new strategy of new custodies, which started against our organization and specifically against comrade Haris Hadjimihelakis, the highest limit of pre-trial detention was raised, every time one of us was about to reach it, from 18 to 30 months. The exact same thing happened to me and comrades Giorgos Polydoros and Olga Ekonomidou, whose 30 months pre-trial detention is coming to an end, this September. This has never been applied on an anarchist organization in Greece ever before. Read the rest of this entry »
Mark “Migs” Neiweem of the NATO 5 has been in solitary confinement for nearly two months. Why? For being in possession of Anarchist symbols (including the Anarchist Black Cross logo) and Anarchist literature. Please call or write in today to demand these politically-motivated disciplinary actions be reversed.
Gang or Unauthorized Organization Activity, for his possession of “unauthorized” Anarchist symbols and friendship with another Anarchist in the prison
Dangerous Written Material, for his possession of “unauthorized” Anarchist literature
These rules exist to limit gang activity within the prison but are being used in this case to target Anarchists and label them as an imminent threat to the facility. He is still being held in the most restrictive type of cell within solitary, behind a solid steel door. Read the rest of this entry »
‘Anarchists claim responsibility for fire at luxury West Melbourne car dealership, but police have doubts’ the headline of the Herald-Sun screams the day after our little visit to Gran Turismo Autos.
Apparently ‘investigators’ do not believe that a ‘mysterious anarchist group’ were responsible for the fire & the Herald-Scum, which is the de-facto mouthpiece of the Victorian Police force in Melbourne, chose not to name the website where we initially posted our claim of responsibility – they also chose to only include a partial sentence from our communique.
Well we have some doubts of our own.
We doubt very much that the cops & the Herald-Scum are being truthful, and we think that even the casual reader of Tuesday’s article would be doubting the truthfulness of the cops and their pet media outlet too. Read the rest of this entry »
The woman who has been in charge of the torture units within English prisons for the last few years is CSC Operational Manager Claire Hodson.
Claire did not start her career within prison management, but at the bottom as a prison officer working at Feltham young offenders prison. It was whilst working with these young, vulnerable children that she first began her experiments in psychological warfare with the aim of inducing prisoner on prisoner violence.
She did not always have the name Hodson, but was known by the young prisoners at Feltham as Officer Bigger. It may be due to this change in name that the public have missed her rise through the prison service as it is unlikely she would have been forgotten otherwise. Read the rest of this entry »
Did you know that Turkish Airlines sacked 305 workers who struggles for the right to strike; and hired more than one thousand inexperienced and untutored personnel? Do you love your loved ones?
ITF affiliate Turkish Civil Aviation Unions (Hava-Is) began an indefinite strike on 15 May against Turkish Airlines (THY) over the company’s alleged failure to accept any of its proposals regarding collective bargaining and its refusal to reinstate 305 sacked workers.
When I first arrived on the Close Supervision Centre (CSC) back in March 2010, only three units existed holding a maximum capacity of 26 prisoners, plus designated cells within the segregation units of most high security prisons providing back-up to these.
These three units were:
HMP Woodhill CSC – Assessment centre holding up to 10 prisoners. HMP Whitemoor – Selected CSC prisoners unit, holding up to 10 prisoners. HMP Wakefield – Extreme risk CSC unit, holding up to 6 prisoners.
Most people would say that three CSC units are three too many, especially when the cost of each place on there is over five times a place in a maximum security main location, the brutality inflicted upon the prisoners within them exceeds all other prison environments in the UK, and they cause the majority of their residents to develop major mental illness requiring treatment within the secure hospitals of Broadmoor, Rampton or Ashworth under the Mental Health Act. In the morning hours of September 2nd, 2013 the Greek police conducted another anti-squatting operation, this time against the Orfanotrofio squat, a former orphanage in the district of Toumba, Thessaloniki.
Seven squatters were arrested inside the building and charged with violating the law regarding occupation of public buildings, as well as weapon possession (an air pistol was allegedly found at the squatted house). All comrades were held in custody, scheduled to appear in the Thessaloniki courts.
Last year, it was announced that the ministry of Health handed over the squatted Orfanotrofio to the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki.
Fuck the State and the Church!
Immediate release of our comrades!
Here is a letter written by Nicola Gai and translated by B.Pd, also published in the latest issue of Terra Selvaggia in July 2013. The text raises many issues (imposed and self-imposed obstacles to anarchist action, the urgent need to strike the enemy, relations between comrades in struggles and at meetings, etc), which we hope will be addressed as soon as possible, so as to find new and more effective practical ways in the destructive attack on dominion.
It is now an established fact that we live in a world of shit where the State and capital, basically undisturbed, impose all sorts of monstrosities on us. It is also certain that only a tiny minority of the population is trying to oppose the suppression of spaces of autonomy and freedom that make life worth living, in a more or less conscious way. As a part of this tiny minority, we anarchists are aware of the urgent need to destroy what oppresses us: why are we not more determined and acute? Read the rest of this entry »
Elisa Di Bernardo, one of the two comrades interviewed, has NOT been released from Rebibbia prison as we had believed. In fact Elisa is the only female comrade arrested following ‘Operation Ardire’ who is still in pre-trial detention since June 2012.
We send our apologies, greetings, rage, solidarity and respect to Elisa

International revolutionary solidarity with anarchist companera Sol F. Vergara (Chile)
Our dear companera Sol was pointed out by power and accused of the attack on the miserable Banco Estado security guard Rolando Vargas Fuentes, in which 4 bullets were fired as a gesture of revenge for the murderous shots that another of his colleagues fired at the anarchist companero Sebastian Overluij, which slew him. Pola Roupa, Nikos Maziotis, Kostas Gournas are imprisoned anarchist comrades in Greece who have taken responsibility, as well as of slain comrade Lambros Foundas, of membership of the Revolutionary Organisation - Revolutionary Struggle. Their actions and their articulate anarchist analysis of capitalism and their high hopes for social revolution press a question to each reader who is ready to rebel and embrace their freedom. On 24 October 2011 their trial began. You can find updates about the process translated into English here and here. Update: N. Maziotis was captured after an armed clash with police in Athens. P.Roupa and their baby-son, Victor Lambros are still in clandestinity. Find further news here.
"This pamphlet is a meeting point of comrades from all over the world. An imaginary meeting since the walls and bars of the prisons where we are temporarily keep our bodies hostage. But our meanings remain free, escape from the cells of prison and are expressed with words continuing to provoke authority.
Words that still smell of fire and gunpowder, words which carry with them all of our hate for the system, words unrepentant and armed, words which transfer stresses and desires, words which break the isolation of prison, words full of passion for the mutiny we want to continue, words from Chile, Mexico, America, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Bulgaria, Indonesia..."CCF
The so-called "Security Case" concerns our revolutionary comrades Juan Aliste Vega, Marcelo Villarroel Sepulveda, and Freddy Fuentevilla Saa, who are currently held captive in prisons of the Chilean State. Some background info. See also here.
