‘Solidarity And Liberation’ by Walter Bond, A.L.F. Prisoner of War (USA)

August 21st, 2013

From behind fences and razor wire, from behind concrete walls and steel bars, from deep within the United States Penitentiary of Marion, from the CMU unit, from this counter-terrorism prison unit for political prisoners, I send revolutionary greetings to all Straight Edge, Vegan and Anarchist Comrades where ever you may be. From the confines of this dungeon of gray concrete I send a message of solidarity and hope to all the sisters and brothers worldwide, in hopes that all our causes for liberation will one day coalesce into the realization of Total Liberation. Just as the rivers all lead to the ocean, so too will the movements for Human, Earth and Animal Liberation pool into a far larger initiative. Read the rest of this entry »

Athens: CCF Trial Update – 3rd Trial (Greece)

August 20th, 2013

Translated by Actforfreedomnow!boubourAs

Session 58.

This session was interrupted again because of the hunger strike of one of the accused comrades who are not related to the CCF.

Session 59.
This session began with tension. The court often arranges sessions on the days the comrades of the CCF having visiting hours in prison. The result was the trial delayed to start, since the members of the Conspiracy have clarified that they will not interrupt their visiting hours in order to appear in court. In retaliation, the judges called the prison sergeant, in order to pressure the comrades to be in court “on time”. As soon as the members of the CCF were informed of that, they verbally attacked the judges stressing that “blackmail will not pass”, accompanying their statement with a torrent of swearing towards the chairman of the court. The judges receded on the matter of visiting hours and the trial was postponed again.

Session 60.

The interruption continued because of the hunger strike.

Session 61.

The trial continued after the decision of the appeals council to release the accused comrade on hunger strike. The prosecutor in one of his statements, referred to the political content of the CCF communiques concerning the attacks against embassies with parcel bombs. Because however there was a confusion concerning the separation of political and penal responsibility, a comrade of the CCF intervened immediately, stating that the comrades of the CCF support every word and every action of the Conspiracy, without dividing the political from the penal.

Session 62.

The trial continued this time with the anti-terrorist force constantly adding new documents for attacks of the Conspiracy that took place three years ago.

Session 63.

In this session appeared employees of courier companies as prosecution witnesses. Specifically one prosecution witness who worked at a courier company and opened the parcel bomb (because of the police curiosity of the employees), appeared very stressed (the courier company she worked at was attacked with a bomb by FAI a few months ago, as reprisals for its snitching). She testified that she was pressured by the cops since she could not remember many things and the cops helped in the testimony by writing a part themselves.

Session 64.

None of the prosecution witnesses which were called appeared. The court announced the new session dates, the chairwoman mentioned that because she had booked tickets for her vacation, she wants to interrupt the trial for three weeks. At that point intervened two comrades of the CCF who amidst the swearing towards the judges, mentioned the vengeful transfers carried out against them with the excuse of interrupting the trial resulting in their spreading to various prisons of Greece.

Session 65.

Two prosecution witnesses appeared, of which only one testified, while the other will testify in a future session. The witness that testified, mentioned the shoot out between a comrade of the CCF and cops. She characteristically mentioned that the bullets were raining and when she arrived, she saw the two cops injured on the ground and the comrade holding the leg that was shot. As she testified, what made an impression to her was the calmness and seriousness of the comrade who was not speaking or screaming compared to the two cops who as she said were “whining”. The reference and description of the incidents caused laughter to the comrades of the CCF and embarrassment to the cops.

Session 66.

This session was short since a witness came which was the courier who delivered the parcel-bomb to the Bulgarian embassy. He did not mention anything else and the court was adjourned for August 27th.

ELF-Moscow torches construction vehicle used in destruction of a park (Russia)

August 20th, 2013

we receive and transmit:

About two weeks ago we torched a tracked excavator at the place where workers were destroying Ismailovo park. The vehicle was parked on the side of the highway, where they were adding more lanes to the road. It took us 3-4 minutes to do the job. We approached. We set up our load of rags, no rush (we targeted spots between the cockpit, engine room and hydraulics in the arm). Added some gasoline and set it on fire. Quickly ran to the opposite side of the street, took our bottles of beer from bags and headed towards the nearby subway station. After about 10 minutes of walking we saw a firefighter brigade (all noisy and flashy) driving to the place of recent ecotage (they would be just in time to save the smoking remains).

Words of encouragement to our Ukranian comrades who for reasons unknown suspended all activity. We would also like to mention our rage at the sentence of Igor “Squash” Kharchenko: http://grani.ru/Society/Law/m.217970.html [antifascist from Moscow, sentenced to prison time after a controversial trial process despite all evidence proving his innocence - trans.]

Have no doubt, we will avenge him.

‘Outsourcing Repression And Control In Prison’ by John Bowden (UK)

August 20th, 2013

Here is the latest letter from John Bowden, via a comrade of the ABC Brighton.

As modern monuments to naked and undisguised state power prisons, it would be reasonable to assume, are institutions where those confined are so completely disempowered and stripped of social distinctions that a kind of elemental human
solidarity must surely prevail amongst them. Surely power in such places would be concentrated solely in the hands of the guards or those who employ them, while the prisoners exist as a powerless uniform mass, voiceless and compliant and denied even bodily integrity and self-autonomy? “Ghosts of the civil dead” is probably the most apt description of the imprisoned.

In fact, as in any society or human group, power within prisons is a very dynamic phenomenon that shifts and changes and sometimes alters the balance and nature of control. It also manifests itself in crude hierarchies of power amongst
prisoners themselves, class systems almost that create another layer of oppression in prison. Read the rest of this entry »

Rotterdam: Van Omme & De Groot construction contractors attacked during No Border camp (Holland)

August 18th, 2013

On 10th August under cover of darkness we targeted the construction contractors Van Omme & De Groot for their involvement in the building of Rotterdam detention centre. The slogan ‘Fuck Deportation!’ was sprayed upon the shutters covering the windows and paint bombs filled with generous amounts of bright paint were thrown, ruining the ever so posh wooden door of the arrogant planners of incarceration. This action was an autonomous action taken upon by ourselves separate from the planned No Borders camp during the same week.

It is one thing to shout “no borders, no nations, stop deportation” but an entirely more effective act to physically attack those who make such a hell for migrants exist. We are also aware that our action alone will not bring an end to the detention/deportation profiteers, but it is a retaliation against those involved in such torturous places that think they can operate with impunity. Our action is in solidarity with all those dwelling in detention centres in fortress Europe, be it Rotterdam, Calais, UK, Italy or Greece. You are never forgotten. To those who make such places of violence possible, you are not forgotten either, we know of you and what you do.

Cardiff: Solidarity with squats under attack in Greece and raids in Berlin (Wales)

August 18th, 2013

On August 5th cops in Greece continued their campaign of repression against squats by raiding three squatted spaces in Patras: Parartima, Maragopouleio and the Self-managed Hangout inside the Technological Educational Institute (TEI). 16 comrades were detained in total; 5 squatters and 11 supporters.

While those showing solidarity were later released, the 5 occupants faced charges in court on the 13th. Therefore the next day we painted a banner to express our solidarity with squatters facing charges and evicted from their homes. Read the rest of this entry »

‘My adventures with Interpol’ by Pyotr Silaev (Spain, Finland, Russia)

August 16th, 2013

On 22 August 2012, the anti-fascist Pyotr Silaev was arrested in Grenada. He is an activist in anti-governmental protests, and the author of the book “Exodus” (published in Finland, Greece, Italy and Germany), under the pseudonym DJ Stalingrad. Pyotr took part in the infamous protests in Khimki, which for some protestors ended in jail or hospital (as it did for the renowned journalist Oleg Kashin, who was attacked with baseball bats near his home). Around 400 young people threw stones and flares at the administrative office of the town in protest against the construction of the Moscow – St. Petersburg highway through the Khimki forest – one of the few remaining green oases around Moscow. The situation bore some similarity to the recent events in Istanbul. Read the rest of this entry »

Berlin: Demo in solidarity with comrades raided by police on August 14th (Germany)

August 15th, 2013

According to first reports, there were huge police raids on eight house projects and apartments in Berlin, including the Rigaer 94, this morning (14/8). The cops are supposedly looking for people responsible for attacks on various job centers (‘welfare offices’) as well as a recent molotov attack against police, who were conducting a drug raid in Köttbusser Tor during a solidarity demonstration for the revolt in Turkey. More news as it comes…Below is a call for spontaneous demonstration in response to the raids:

This morning, August 14th, 2013, cops raided several apartments in the Mitte, Kreuzberg and Neukölln neighbourhoods of Berlin.

In Friedrichshain the police deployed a riot squad, along with special task force troops to invade the house project Rigaer Straße 94 [whose front building was already stormed by cops on August 2nd].

The pretext for these raids were actions against several branches of the Job Center that took place in Berlin on May 2nd, as well as a solidarity action with the people revolting in Turkey after the eviction of Gezi Park in Istanbul. Read the rest of this entry »

Letter from anarchist Mario ‘Tripa’ Lopez (Mexico)

August 12th, 2013

It’s time I used my typewriter, considering the requests from many compas from different areas of the world, including Mexico, who repeatedly asked me to tell them what situation I was going through. I’d like to start by apologizing for not giving news for many months, more than 6 to be precise. Never mind, I haven’t done so for different, very personal reasons.

For now I’m going to say only a few things, starting from the judicial ones. The trial against me is continuing but there have been some changes and there is no sentence so far. Well, a week ago my case became competence of the tribunal 20 dealing with non serious offences. This is due to the reform of the law according to which I was accused, with the result that my case is now regarded as a non serious one in the Mexican penal code: break of the public peace, with a sentence ranging from 6 to 30 years without possibility of bail, has been changed into non serious offence, with a sentence ranging from 4 to 7 years. This is the reasons why anarchist lawyers demanded my release.

The tribunal 32 based in Recusorio Varolin Preventivo Sur, which took up my case at first, made a request for it to be transferred to another tribunal. Of course the prosecution appealed against this but a couple of months later the appeal was rejected and the transfer went on. This involved some problems for a couple of weeks but finally I had notification of the transfer.

This may seems a good change but it is not completely good because a new trial will have to start, whereas the previous one had almost concluded.

The change will give the prosecution a new opportunity for gathering more evidence against me and rebuild the case, which presented a number of faults. For example, during a hearing which I attended while being detained at the Reclusorio Sur the prosecutor called a witness, a woman of the antiriot police who had nothing to do with my imprisonment. She had been involved in a previous arrest following minor incidents against bullfighting in 2009. Moreover she no longer works with the institutions. Naturally my lawyers dismissed this alleged evidence, only due to the prosecutor’s intention to prove my tendency to breach the public peace. We demanded this phase of evidence to be acquired as it was, which implied 3-4 months of trial and the risk to get a maximum sentence of 7 years imprisonment.

During these months I have been waiting (along with you all) for the decision concerning the appeal presented by the prosecution after my release – they call it freedom but I can’t define it as such only because I was released from prison, for me freedom must be absolute. The appeal was rejected and I am still free awaiting trial, while both the prosecution and the defence were granted more time to gather evidence, which we believe is useless and only serves to confirm the presence of the prosecutor in this case. We renounced this extra time. It was then that the tribunal 32 decided to transfer the case to the court dealing with non serious offences, and the prosecution made an appeal.
Personally I want to publicly declare that I maintain my position. The considerations that can be drawn from my situation should be of strategic and tactic nature, especially as concerns ideas and not only the judicial consequences that they may produce. We may say, quite often this is the price of waging a war, an individual and collective conflict, and we can’t ignore its consequences in a cowardly way by not taking into account the sentences or the incertitude that the comrades hit by the repression of the state suffer or will suffer. We must take on these consequences individually or collectively when we decide to engage in a direct struggle against the State/Capital.

Usually I don’t agree with those who picture the revolution as an easy one, a non violent change without repercussions or repression from the State apparatus. Not that I want this to happen but I’m aware of the fact that we need to reduce risks to a minimum. At the same time we also have to be aware of the fact that repression along with criminalization are the weapons the state use to stop what disturbs its dominion, if our activity is to be placed outside the legal parameters of the system and our forms of struggle are to overcome the limits imposed by ideologies in a straightforward conflict against the Authority.

I’m not saying we have to worship violence or revolutionary violence; it is simply something that the anarchist movement has taken from the past and brought into the present in order to struggle against the State/Capital. Always bearing in mind that violence is not the climax of our individual/collective intervention we have to reject the false dichotomy imposed by both the system – especially the police state we have today with DF, just to make an example – and by its defenders and supporters – leftists, pacifists, reformers, etc – in order to undermine the insurrection process or obstruct it with false dilemmas, which end up in irreconcilable splits.

For me attack is not only the armed one or the explosive one. It is any form of anarchist intervention that questions and criticizes reality, make propositions and heads towards the climax of individual and generalized insurrection.
All attacks against power that have followed one another since 2007 are the results of some uprisings that we can see today in the streets. This is this force that today is animating the anarchist impulse, and is also going beyond it. It is the force that has allowed many comrades to gain full awareness and take important steps in discussion and action, without splitting theory and practice. What you think you do, regardless of the fact that some comrades agree or not with interventions such as sabotage or individual actions.

I think these issues – explosive attacks, various acts of sabotage – are not the climax of our struggle. Perhaps they are such in the current moment but I think these actions are individual interventions, of claim, of attack, and at the same time they add to propaganda – books, publications, protests and various activities. They are part of the same commitment towards insurrection when there are certain conditions. But this too is part of the awareness of the intervention in favour of irrational uprisings so that the latter turn into conscious and generalized insurrection.
We can’t believe that our actions, even including the minor ones, won’t have any repercussions. Anarchism is illegal in itself and thoughts of freedom are incompatible with the parameters imposed by the system. The challenge of the destruction of the society of capital is the only existing community.

The absurd difference between legal and illegal is not only an excuse used by those who fill their mouths with fine words and nostalgia and see anarchism as something obsolete. I believe our struggle is there to grab total and absolute freedom; it is an incorruptible struggle that has always been ready to use all the means at its disposal in order to achieve its goal: individualist critique, destruction and construction.

Now I’d like to comment on an article appeared in the magazine Proceso, issue 103, April 2013. The investigative article is entitled ‘Alarm for Mexican anarchists’. First of all I’d like to say that the article is not that bad, if confronted with what is being said about anarchists in this kind of magazines. To tell the truth, Proceso has always published very accurate articles. The article refers to a fact that many comrades have noted for a long tine: the birth of an international insurrectional network. The collaboration between European intelligence services represents a more serious problem than that of the CISEN – which based an investigation against anarchist groups on their facebook accounts, alleging that three of these groups had ‘some firearms’ at their disposal, a statement that I find absurd because we are in a country where anyone has weapons, weapons are everywhere, and to get them it is sufficient to intimidate some absent-minded cop walking where they shouldn’t do so… etc.

The article of the CISEN seems to be made in order to create alarm and sensation, unlike that of the magazine Proceso, which I think deserve some attention. The question concerning Europol is that this obscure police body has the task of gathering information on the struggle of the groups of anarchist action operating in Europe. And the Italian DIGOS maintains its theorems in order to create illegal associations of anarchist that seems to be drawn from some gangsters novels: hierarchical armed associations, which in most cases are just the product of the imagination of the judges in charge of solving cases of attack or execution occurring in the country, and which are claimed by anarchists or are attributed to the latter. By the way the collaboration between intelligence services and the Europol itself only reproduce this kind of imaginary models.

Finally, as I was asked to do so, I’d like to clarify that I have no reason to thank the student Movement 132 for having being released from prison. The doubt comes from the fact that the change in the law made by the GDF would be due to the ‘pressure’ exercised by this group. I believe that this decision is just a strategically political one, as it came along with the appointment of Mancera in the government of DF and in relation to the repression of December 1. What would it be my fault? Think of Ebrad, who after being acclaimed as the best mayor in the world has violated all human rights. This change in the law only served to neutralize the protests of these reformists who act according to the law and always respect the established rules, thus reproducing the strategy of social democracy, which is that of Demand – I’m not talking about the single exceptions that can be found in their ranks but about their general position. What happened is that the lawyers of the GASPA evaluated, demanded and obtained my release. A critique is not always contempt and those who see things that way can’t distinguish the one from the other. How can we progress if we always feel accused and offended?

I say goodbye now, hoping I have not been too untimely, as I often am. I’d like to thank the anarchist comrades of affinity for their support and solidarity, which they showed me when I was in prison and also now that I’m out. Warm greetings to the comrades: Nikos Maziotis, Pola Roupa and little Victor Lambros, who at the age of three is on the run along with his parents.

Mario Antonio López.

CCF-Russia torches mobile housing unit at a highway construction site in Adygeya (Russia)

August 11th, 2013

We receive and transmit:

At the end of July 2013 near Maikop (resp. Adygeya) we carried out an ecotage action at the highway construction site. We chose a moonless night to reach the site of this horrendous rape of nature and chose our targets: personal belongings of slave-workers as well as corporate property. Having picked up a stone in the ditch nearby, we cracked open a window and poured some gasoline inside the mobile housing unit (we made sure no workers were inside before the attack). The rest of gasoline was poured on the wheels. In the next moment a flash of match send this shit to hell where it properly belongs. We wish the construction company to follow the vehicle there. Our withdrawal was lit with flames (as usual). No guard turned up to stop us (as usual).

Do not wait for the optimal moment to present itself before you go on the offensive. Only the state of permanent conflict will make your personality strong. If you follow the track of biding your time, hoarding money, buying some sophisticated stuff for the action – you’re subconsciously withdrawing from the struggle. No camouflage or fancy boots will carry out the action for you (though they do help). All things are mere tools. Go outside and fight now! Do not listen to those who murmur: “now is not the time”! To hell with famous ideologists! To hell with “inappropriate anarchy”! Anarchy is here and now! To hell with union struggle! Working class is dead just like the present day society. It’s rotten. It’s in decay. Yet we are supposed to communicate with it just like Russians are supposed to communicate with Lenin. Do what you want the way you want it to be done. Fight for your own freedom. Fight for yourselves. Fight for your brothers and sisters. Fight for the future of your children. Nobody will grant you freedom unless you take it by force for yourselves. If now is not the time for you to step over “the law”, to look beyond the templates of accepted “resistance”, then we bet you won’t find any courage inside when the civil war starts. We wish you luck.

Sibylle S. (witness not cooperating with authorities) stayed four months in prison under ‘coercive detention’ because she had repeatedly refused to testify as a witness against Sonja Suder. Antifascist Attack in Bristol (UK)

August 7th, 2013

At 3am on Tuesday morning (August 6th) the County Sports Club on Colston Street was attacked. 4 windows were smashed each with 2 panes and SMASH FASCISM was painted on the wall. On July 13th the County Sports Club allowed Close Shave to play, a fascist punk band that have played regularly with Screwdriver and on the bill of Rock Against Communism. Their lyrics advocate bringing back the death penalty for immigrants and gays amongst other things.

Let this be a warning when polite requests fail. Anyone supporting or promoting the racism, homophobia and totalitarianism of the far right (or left) deserves this kind of treatment.

For freedom of movement and freedom of sexuality!

For freedom.
