Ecotage in Krasnodar (Russia)

February 17th, 2013

from russia with love:

We receive and transmit: 10/02/2013 members of ALF-Kuban torched construction vehicles used for destroying a grove – one of the few left – in Krasnodar.

“All river basin is in danger, because these woods act as lungs for three districts: Komsomolsky, Pashkovky and Hydrostroy). In their lust for profit development companies won’t listen to locals, ecological surveys or petitions. So we chose to sabotage their efforts. We are making them pay,” – ALF-Kuban

Total Liberation: An interview with Walter Bond on Anarchy, Abortion rights, Anti-Colonialism & Animal Liberation

February 17th, 2013

via anarchistnews.org:

Punk bands tour the world singing anthems that promote militant direct action & activism, putting out albums with flaming Molotovs emblazoned across their covers, with militant messages; but few of us ever truly put those words into action. Walter Bond on the other hand has spent decades working tirelessly, whether leafleting at shows and in the streets, tabling at Pride events, protesting, or volunteering at animal sanctuaries before finally turning to the more militant tactics of the Animal Liberation Front. Walter is a proud anarchist, Vegan, of Latino heritage, who identifies as bisexual. He also is currently a prisoner in one of the most controversial and restrictive prisons in the USA today.

I have been writing to Walter in prison since he was first arrested 2 years ago, after his brother snitched him out. At the time of his arrest, Walter was living on the streets while attacking businesses that profit from animal exploitation.

interview by Comrade Black originally posted on Profane Existence

PE: – You identified as an anarchist for most of your life. Can you tell us what being an anarchist means to you, and how it connects with Animal Liberation, and Total Liberation?

WALTER: When I was in 7th grade in 1989 I used to make all kinds of clip art fliers with my friends under the name ‘Anti-Statist Counter Culture’. We would distribute them mostly to local corporate businesses and churches in the area, mostly to agitate. By the end of 8th grade I had completely dropped out of school and was living this nihilist lifestyle and was just very reactionary and angry at the whole world, parents, school, everything! Back then I was dealing with a world of shit that was to much for me to handle. I turned to drug abuse and vandalism as an outlet. Anarchism back then was a personal vendetta I had about how my life and the world around me was and how I felt it should be. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Education Is Subversive In Prison’ by John Bowden, long-term social prisoner (UK)

February 15th, 2013

The role of teachers and educational tutors employed by local colleges and contracted to work within the prison system can be a conflicting and potentially very hazardous one. Empowering prisoners with knowledge in an environment intrinsically organised to disempower them can sometimes be a dangerous activity.

Unlike the function and role of most other types of staff working within prisons (guards, probation officers, social workers and psychologists etc.) that revolve around the containment, control and disempowerment of prisoners, teaching within jails usually involves a relationship with prisoners that is often inimical to that custody and control dimension of prisons. The uniformed guards who basically control and maintain ‘discipline’ in prisons instinctively understand the empowering influence of education on prisoners, which is essentially why they view civilian teachers working within prisons with suspicion and as an always potentially weak link in the chain of security and ‘discipline’ (control), whose loyalty is always in question. There is a very strong and all-pervading occupational culture amongst prison guards that views any attempt to empower and humanise those over whom they exact an absolute degree of power as just another step to a liberalism that undermines and weakens the basic function of the prison – punishment and absolute control. It’s an attitude and culture that teachers working within prisons are confronted by every day, as well as a balance of institutional power firmly tipped in favour of the guards, who charged with maintaining the physical security of the prison will always inevitably label teachers who question their authority and power as a ‘security risk’, which is a sure way of getting them removed from the prison and recalled to a local college usually desperate to protect and continue it’s contract with the prison system. Brief message of solidarity with the arrested comrades – Kozani case – from Asimetris & ex-Negasi (Greece, Indonesia)

February 15th, 2013

Dear comrades,

We are separated by continents, seas and borders but united by the black spirit for total liberation of life. Life where each of us live as dignified individuals, surrounded by pieces of collapse of the society. We never met you before but deep down in our soul of rebellion, we proudly call you: brothers.

Our hearts hurt when heard that all of you beaten by pigs. Our anger is finding the way through this letter to let you know that we are next to you. When got the news that you are kidnapped by the state, we felt pain that made us rise our fist of revenge for you. We lost our brother yesterday and we don’t want to lose another one anymore.

For now, we only can speak and spread your news through our blog and other tools. Making this news as a hammer to break up all the silences. Reaching all our sisters and brothers to join in the international act of solidarity to call your freedom, all of you.

Keep healthy and strong!
With love to all of you!
And fire to all enemies!

Brief message of solidarity with the arrested comrades – Kozani case (Greece)

February 15th, 2013

“What is a bank robbery compared with the founding of a bank?”
Bertolt Brecht

International revolutionary solidarity to the 4 arrested comrades of Kozani double bank robbery. Prison cannot hold freedom’s dreams, which escape through the bars to continue the attacks. Every night that a captured brother or sister spends behind bars becomes more fires in the night, more stones through façades, hundreds of flyposters, graffiti, and various other outbreaks of insurrectionary vengeance. Respect and complicity with the determination and courage of those who rob banks. The villains are those who own and protect them. Capital remains our enemy – Expropriation is dignity – The war continues on every level. Let’s target again the concepts, individuals, strong-houses and mechanisms of the system and eliminate their world.

An incendiary hug to the comrades Nikos Romanos, Dimitris Politis, Andreas-Dimitris Mpourzoukos and Giannis Michailidis.

Text by the 4 arrested anarchists concerning the double robbery in Velvento, Kozani (Greece)

February 13th, 2013

Also see this: Statement by CCF/FAI Imprisoned Cell.

Our days pass, our nights don’t

We run toward our escape, whilst around us a full-out manhunt is playing out. Behind us lies a life that is predetermined, carved from the hands of the sovereign, with the aim for us to internalise submission as an objective condition, to morally legitimise systems of law and rules, to equalise the individual with a statistical logic of numbers. Ahead of us, the world of our “utopian” fantasies that is conquered with violence alone. One life, one chance and determined choices.

Gaze at the gap in-between the clouds and jump, because the fall was never a more certain choice.

On Friday, 01.02, along with a group of comrades, we conducted a double robbery, of the Agricultural Bank and the Post Office in Velvento, Kozani. In our opinion it is of some importance to analyse, to an extent, the operational part of the robbery. This, primarily in order to highlight all the elements of the case, the choices that we made, the mistakes we conducted and the reasons that lead us to these:

And so, on that Friday morning, we attacked the two targets split in two teams. Our aim from the upstart was to take the money from both safes, as it did indeed happen. During our escape, a series of unfortunate events and mistaken handling of these lead to the exposure both of our vehicle as well as our direction to the police.

Due to the police grip that was automatically formed, the comrade driving the van that was externally transformed to look like an ambulance, sought exit routes for the team conducting the robberies. In this attempt of his, he made the mistake of driving three times in front of a vehicle of the cops, which resulted in him being considered suspect. A chase followed and then, due to non-familiarity with the area that he ended up in, he reached four dead ends in the mud-roads of the pits, which resulted in him being surrounded in the last one – and having no other actual space to escape. And so, once he set the van alight, he was arrested. Following these developments and while our comrade with the escape vehicle was already in the hands of the cops, our available options were significantly narrowed down. Read the rest of this entry »

Final statement of ex-Negasi comrades about the trial of the killer of Ryo (Indonesia)

February 12th, 2013

(This statement was read out two days ago while a meeting was held, this is a final statement from ex-members/comrades of Negasi and affinities, after a long and tired debate among the solidarians in last two months about the case of Ryo.)

Good evening,

For all who always rise their hand and never bow their head in front of injustice, society and all the enemies. Respect for those who showed their direct solidarity as a language of resistance.

First, we want to confirm our position in the middle of this gathering and among people who self-proclaimed as also involved in bringing ‘justice’ to Ryo’s family. Our confirmation is based on our values, as a friends, as comrades who lost a brother and comrade. We are beyond the normality and outside of values of morality. We speak as individuals and not a group or collective or any terms of organization.

Some of us were ‘blessed’ to have a brother and friend: Ryo. A brave one and a comrade for us. That’s why we never want to deny his contribution in our history as individuals and as a group. By claiming his participation, we show our respect. To remember his dignity and hard work to keep learning and always questioning all normality and social peace. We want to show how his life was a journey to find out that all the social peace and normal life is just a big lie! Read the rest of this entry »

Letter to ABC Brighton by Jock Palfreeman – Antifascist on Hungerstrike (UK, Bulgaria)

February 12th, 2013

21st January 2013

G-day guys! All at ABC-Brighton,

Well, first of all, the Director stopped me from my Uni degree! See I’ve been helping other prisoners, obviously part of the union and solidarity with fellow convicts. So to punish me, for my solidarity ie legal advice! the Director of the prison cut me off from the computers where I write my essays. It happened several days ago after 10 guards badly beat a prisoner with batons. I helped the prisoner get legal advice and explained to him the procedure for how to instigate a criminal investigation into their attack. For that I’m being punished in that they are stopping me from my studies. Read the rest of this entry »

Some disorder news from Belgium… via Hors Service

February 11th, 2013

Hors Service is an anarchist journal from Brussels. It’s printed in several thousands of copies and distributed in the streets of Brussels. Since a few numbers, it comes out every three weeks. Here’s the translated part of disorder news and attacks of the three latest numbers.

Beyond all borders, long live the revolt – As an echo to the multiple movements of revolt in Egypt against the new power, for freedom and the end of all exploitation, the residence of the Egyptian ambassador, Fatma El Zahraa Ottman, in Brussels was attacked by unknown persons. During the night, the attackers broke the windows, threw paint on the building and started a fire in front of it, escaping before the arrival of the police. The ambassador, the representation of Egyptian power in Belgium, was at home during the attack. Read the rest of this entry »

Madrid: Responsibility claim for the placement of an explosive device at Almudena Cathedral (Spain)

February 11th, 2013

From Contra-Info:

The house of god fucked up in Madrid
(Thursday, February 7th, 13.00pm)

We have demonstrated that your sanctified dens are vulnerable. The foundations of your Power have trembled by the kilos of our sacrilegious gunpowder, seeking a breach of your civic peace that has been based upon killings and persons locked up for years in the slammer. This is revenge. We have overcome the barrier of fear.

The target of the explosive attack is clear; to strike the Bourbon monarchy in their sacred sites. All their majestuosity is the fruit of oppression, and we, the oppressed, will end with it through insurrectional revolutionary violence. We won’t fall into the trap of waiting to be given the historical conditions. We believe that the conditions are propitious for attack as long as State, Capital and especially a rotten fascist royal family exist. We are determined. We do not wait. We act.

We do not hold the mistaken idea that we will achieve the destruction of all that oppresses us solely through actions such as this one. We are not fooling ourselves. We are not granting ourselves self-complacency. This is propaganda by the deed, which has existed for more than a century among the seditious and conspirators against Power. It is an appeal to war without limits using all our imagination and energy to end with this rotten world.

Fire to the slammer!
Long live Anarchy!

Tridni Valka – Class War Group in Czech Republic

February 11th, 2013

Revolutionary communists Tridni Valka, “Class War Group”, sent us a message to spread the news that they had translated the text “Egypt like the Sea” into Czech language (English version here). You can visit their blog on http://autistici.org/tridnivalka/. Most of their materials are published in Czech, however many are also in English as well as in French.

Since the beginning of the “Arab spring”, Tridni Valka already published three leaflets in solidarity with the struggles of our brothers and sisters in this region of the capitalist world called the “Middle East”:

Class struggle in Maghreb and Mashrek… Class struggle worldwide… (April 2011 in Czech, English, French, German, Italian);

Greetings to proletarians in struggle in Syria, Egypt, Tunisia… and all over the world! (February 2012 in Czech, English, French, German, Greek, Spanish… and Arabic);

• And last but not least, Again and again more Blood-Baath in Syria (August 2012 only in Czech, English, French).

Paris: Death to screws – CGT (France)

February 11th, 2013

From Nantes IMC:

On the night of 3 to 4 February, the local CGT office at 13 RUE PIERRE BONNARD in the 20th arrondissement, saw all its windows explode.

This is because of their screws and their dirty work of confinement.

Through this attack, we want to send a full salvation of strength and determination to those who, in the jail of Roanne and also raise their heads to face prison and loose keychain uniforms. (For the record: http://nantes.indymedia.org/article/26893 and http://nantes.indymedia.org/article/26961)

On this occasion we also carry a combative message for Marco Camenisch and all rebels who do not let themselves be overwhelmed by the horror of prison, or by the horror of this society in its entirety.

This all sounds the cry of rebellion, which is also a cry of joy:

Death to prison
Long live freedom.

Solidarity with friends of Saleh family arrestees (UK)

February 8th, 2013

Solidarity with friends of Saleh family arrestees.

SUPPORT THE TWO FRIENDS OF THE SALEH FAMILY WRONGLY ARRESTED DURING THE DAWN RAID ON THE FAMILY HOME.
18/02/2013 @ Cardiff Magistrates Court

Friends arrested during dawn raid of family home:

Last October at around 6.30am Mrs Saleh and her two children were woken up by half a dozen UKBA officials and told to prepare themselves for deportation. Mrs Saleh’s daughter and other friends of the family quickly came to the house and video footage of some of these events can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1NXwTOnzp8

Two friends of the family were arrested outside the families home, without being told what they were being arrested for. Later at the station, charges were made up citing obstruction of UKBA officers during their official duty.

The two friends have known the family personally for some time and were well aware of the fear the family faced at the threat of being sent back to Egypt. More on the background of Mrs Saleh’s claim can be found here: http://ncadc.org.uk/blog/2012/10/instead-of-protection-the-saleh-familys-ordeal-continued-in-the-uk

Their court case is on Monday 18th February 9:30am in Cardiff Magistrates court. This is a call out for solidarity with this case and the wider struggle for freedom of movement.

Obituary For Riyano (Indonesia)

February 8th, 2013

Riyano Tanjung Pahlevi, an anarchist from Borneo, died this year of industrial cancer. Riyano and Eat co-founded Katalis journal in 2008. Love, respect and solidarity. The translation is by waronsociety via ultraegoist.

Obituary For Riyano

Ino, my friend, in a time when the air was still giving you life,
we both believed that one day we would see
with our own eyes a new world.
A world in which people are no longer wolves to each other,
a world in which we are all lovers and family.

But tonight a star of darkness has snatched you out of this dark world.
Ino, the new world that we “dreamed” of is still too far away.
And yet, the good days
we once spent together
will not be forgotten. Days and nights
when dreams and passions hotter than a supernova burst
into laughter, fire, and anger. And the days when the “new world”
was still too far away for the “awaiting.”
I didn’t mind. Not at all.
Because I know this: you have to live your life
as fully as you desire. We lived best
and were the happiest people in those days.

Farewell my friend, You have sailed someplace
where power no longer applies. And you will never die
for me. Because everything tossed into the decaying earth is a living organism
continuing the cycle of life. You are the air that I breathe.
And Ino, I am sure you are loving to read these last words.

One more reason to welcome the fire of Prometheus!

Au revoir, mon ami!

Urgent: Anti-fascist prisoner Jock Palfreeman on hungerstrike in Bulgarian prison

February 8th, 2013

From Anarchist Solidarity:

Australian Anti-fascist prisoner Jock Palfreeman, serving 20 years on Sofia/Bulgaria for defending two Roma boys from racist mob is on hungerstrike from 13th January 2013 because the Director of the Central Sofia Prison has ordered another punishment measures, most probably because of Jock´s activist work as chairman of the Bulgarian Prisoner´s Association.

Due to this punishment Jock is now not allowed to finish his studies which is very important for him.

Jock’s health is rapidly worsening as he continues his hunger strike and he is not even allowed to see a doctor as yet another repressive measure by the prison authorities.
