Demonstration in Lannemezan on 24 October 2015 for the liberation of Georges Abdallah (France)

September 23rd, 2015

Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, a 64 year-old Lebanese communist, was arrested in Lyon (France) on 24 October 1984 and sentenced to life imprisonment for actions for which the Lebanese Armed Revolutionary Factions (LARF) claimed responsibility.

In 1978 he fought with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) to push back the Israeli invasion of the Lebanon.

He was due for release in 1999, and keeping him in jail responds to a political decision on the part of the French State, with the backing of Israel and the United States. The latest request for parole for Georges Ibrahim Abdallah filed in 2014 was once again turned down. But we will not be deterred by this decision; it will only make us all the more determined! We will not be silenced by this decision; we will make our voice heard! Read the rest of this entry »

‘Prison As Political Battleground’ by John Bowden, radical long-term prisoner (UK)

September 23rd, 2015

From a comrade of ABC Brighton:

Either as a political issue or personal experience prison repression isn’t something the radical left in Britain is particularly familiar with or much inclined to mobilise against. Prison remains largely a working class experience targeted against the poorest and most marginalised of that class. However in a society increasingly polarised and divided between rich and poor in a political climate of growing repression and authoritarianism prisons are being refashioned more and more into instruments of political as well as social control. This will eventually find reflection in the nature and composition of the prisoner population as political activists increasingly supplement the imprisoned poor.

What should characterise the behaviour and attitude of imprisoned political activists towards the prison system? How should those imprisoned for political offences against the system in the “free world” behave and respond once incarcerated in the Belly of the Beast, the steel and concrete innards of the state? London: Soli-banner at Tourism Malaysia Office against the repression targeted at Rumah Api (UK)

September 20th, 2015

A small act of solidarity from London for Rumah Api (KL): Banner drop outside
the Malaysian Embassy on the same day as a massive ‘Malaysia Night’ event
takes place in nearby Trafalgar Square. Rumah Api is a Kuala Lumpur based
anarcho-punk social centre and gig space, and was raided by armed police on
August 28th. This resulted in 160 people being arrested.

Solidarity text from anarchist prisoner Panagiotis Mihalakoglou to Evi Statiri (Greece)

September 17th, 2015

Inter Arma received and translated:

Once again the system has shown its real face and its vindictiveness took shape with the illegal (according to their own laws) detention of the partner of Gerasimos Tsakalos, Evi Statiri. Her only “crime” is the human relationship she has with comrade Gerasimos Tsakalos.

You see, the system wants to turn to snitches those that not even the Nazis did not dare to. Their comrades, their girlfriends, their mothers, their friends and relatives. And also the people who fight for individual freedom, personal independence, joy and anarchy.

Of course, their goal is twofold. To avenge those who do not bow their head and also to intimidate anyone who wants to show solidarity and support to the imprisoned fighters. And of course to terrorize anyone thinking of taking the hard path of anarchy and destruction of the system.

We shout at the puppets of system sending a message: “You do not scare us, you infuriate us and strengthen our will for your destruction”.

Ni Izquierda, Ni Derecha – Ni Fascismo, Ni Democracia ($hile)

September 16th, 2015

English version via insurrection news.

etc.) Read the rest of this entry »

Letter from Evi Statiri about the hungerstrike (Greece)

September 16th, 2015

Against fear and injustice

From today, September 14, the calendar on my cell wall will not change page. This date will remain stuck there until the day of freedom.

Today, September 14, I begin a HUNGER STRIKE for my release; against the fear of power, against the lies of journalists, against apathy, against silence…

Cops, judges and politicians caged my days within the walls of this prison but they cannot cage my dignity or my desire for freedom…

This is my refusal to accept the omnipotence of power that crushes our lives by storing them inside folders filled with police records inside investigative offices, this is the legacy of collective history – the struggles of the oppressed who resisted, who revolted, who bled and still seek justice.

It is the return of the memory of the insurgents, the suppressed and the imprisoned who do not forget that freedom is not given away… but won via struggle…

“You only have power over people as long as you don’t take everything away from them. But when you’ve robbed a man of everything, he’s no longer in your power – he’s free again.”A. Solzhenitsyn

São Paulo: Incendiary sabotage of ITAU Bank by ‘Movimento Insurgente Anarquista – MIA’ (Brazil)

September 16th, 2015

The attack was on an ITAU Bank, in the central region of São José dos Campos – São Paulo, Brazil.

“We have this fantasy that our interests and the interests of the super-rich are the same – as if, somehow, the rich eventually will become so wealthy that they will explode, and the candy will rain down on the rest of us. As if they were a kind of piñata of benevolence. But here’s the truth about the piñatas: They do not break alone. You have to hit them with a stick.”

Our recent attack on a Bradesco bank raised some doubt in the corporate media. Indeed, the bomb placed in the third [ATM] cubicle did not explode. The intention, so far, as reported by certain outlets, was the robbery of your rotten money. But after all, an incendiary device with 5 gallons of gasoline with oil and additives, will never make an ATM explode.

Our intention was to burn your house of Capital.

On the night of 13 September, in one of the elite neighborhoods of Sao Jose dos Campos, we carried out another incendiary attack on a bank branch. This time we targeted ITAU, who in the second business quarter of 2015 made an obscene income of R$5.9 billion.

Apparently, cashing in on interest and speculating on other people’s labour is the only thing that actually continues to move the already rusty gears of the capitalist superstructure. It’s the insanity of our times, where the weakest live in crisis while those at the top feast at our expense. The attacks upon the lower classes they call ‘adjustment’, whilst any attack against the upper classes they call ‘terrorism.’

As if that was not enough, the puppet [President] Dilma Rousseff attacks the workers with harsh austerity measures, divestment and cuts to social programs and we still have to swallow a congress full of rats and worms – and all strains of parasites – fattening their stomachs with money coming from the lobbying of corporations, companies, banks and agribusiness. Suits acting in their own interests against the wishes of the people. This is what is known as ‘democracy.’ Read the rest of this entry »

Urgent update regarding anarchist comrade Eric King’s mail being rejected! (USA)

September 15th, 2015

The CCA Leavenworth mailroom has been blocking some of Eric’s incoming
mail, censoring publications for ridiculous reasons (or for no stated
reason at all), and even blocking some of his outgoing mail.

Recently, a book about the Black Panthers was rejected because the prison
evidently considers them a “hate group.” Around that same time, rightwing
Christian literature with homophobic rhetoric made it through to another
prisoner. Eric is clearly being targeted for his political beliefs and

Athens: Incendiary solidarity with Evi Statiri and Athena Tsakalou (Greece)

September 12th, 2015

At dawn on September 2, 2015 we torched:

- 2 National Bank ATMs in the neighborhood of Galatsi
- 1 ATM of Alpha Bank in Patisia district
- 1 Piraeus Bank ATM in the suburb of Peristeria
- as well as smashing a Piraeus Bank ATM in the district of Galatsi

Our only motivation was our desire to attack. Attacking a prison-society that tries to mold, discriminate and classify our needs, desires and relationships and adapt them to serve it’s objectives: the perpetuation of a system of repression and the strategic manipulation of subjectivity and diversity.

The commitment we have to succeed as anarchists is the following one: ensuring that we impose the flow of our world that runs on the rhythms that determine our anarchistic wills away from the lights of the machines of Power; against the social reality of economic, scientific and ideological domination, the morality of commerce and of a world that is classified and commodified to produce questions with ready-made answers.

Against this framework of domination we choose to continue insurrectionist action in the here and now. It is clear that the apparatus of power will do all that it can to repress anything that is opposed to the economizing of life. This has the consequence of it being socially acceptable for power to be applied to the greatest extent in prisons. In the dungeons of democracy there are those who choose to act on the basis of their desires for freedom instead of accepting servitude and nonexistence. The anarchist prisoners are our comrades in the war against the existent and we are not going to abandon them to their fates between the jaws of the judicial complex of shit. We must not forget our imprisoned comrades but we do not have to idolize them. We would like to make it clear that we do not fear the consequences of our actions nor any questions or doubts about their value.

The prisoner’s positions have remained consistent and unaltered despite the conditions of their confinement. This is why the authorities uses the dirtiest methods to try and break them. The organs of Power with their characteristic vendetta do not hesitate to criminalize solidarity as well as family and personal relationships making it’s vindictive mania even more obvious – as in the case of Athena Tsakalou, mother of Gerasimos and Christos Tsakalos and of the life partner of Gerasimos, Evi Statiri.

This first wave of attacks is a response to the vindictive blows of the State, as well as a signal of solidarity with anarchist prisoners worldwide.

“From the land of the forgotten against oblivion…” by Olga Ekonomidou, imprisoned member of CCF (Greece)

September 11th, 2015

Inter Arma received and translated:

The condition of captivity in which I find myself in for 4,5 years now as a vindictive and exemplary punishment has created a distance between me and outside reality, action. Besides, the purpose of imprisonment for those who fight against the existent is separation, deprivation, political isolation, moral annihilation. But there are always bars to break, either you walk in the monotonous sterile corridors of a “penitentiary” or you cross the decorated streets of consumption of prison-society. Now, within the prison cells of democracy, my need for freedom continues to give breath to each of my days. It’s my moving force, to think, to imagine, to organize, to act. The decision of total conflict with the existent, the power of individual choice enriched by experiences of collective action, are the ingredients that can penetrate the prison bars and high walls. Why in prison you don’t give up… you go on. You reorganize yourself and you fight. For 4,5 years I wake up in a bed in prison always a little after sunrise, although many times I liked sleeping more when I was out, I organize my every move, although outside the spontaneous often moved me, I analyze and judge the data (political and personal) of yesterday’s day alone, although outside I always shared them with comrades. For 4,5 years I wake up every morning feeling sure that I alone defined my participation in the war against any form of authority and that freedom is not given away… you conquer it yourself. ‘Keep on Rockin’ – Chapter 11 of the book ‘Radical Peace: People Refusing War’ By William T. Hathaway (USA)

September 11th, 2015

Keep On Rockin’

Chapter 11 of the book
RADICAL PEACE: People Refusing War
By William T. Hathaway

RADICAL PEACE is a collection of reports from antiwar activists, the true stories of their efforts to change our warrior culture. An American exchange student in one of my courses here in Germany contributed the following essay about how she became an anarchist for peace. Because of her activism she wishes to remain anonymous.

Jason was my boy-friend for a while in high school. It wasn’t a match made in heaven. Looking back, I think the main thing we had in common was that I wanted a boy-friend and he wanted a girl-friend. Other than that there wasn’t much between us, as we discovered whenever we tried to talk about anything. I broke up with him when he asked me to go rabbit hunting with him. We stayed friends, though, probably because since it was obvious we could never be a real couple, neither of us had hard feelings.

We both left town after graduation; I went to college, Jason went to the marines. Two years later we were both back home; I was on summer vacation, Jason was on medical leave after having half his leg blown off in Iraq. He’d been riding in a truck that hit a mine. Read the rest of this entry »

Ataque a concesionaria en Buenos Aires (Argentina)

September 9th, 2015

¡Despreciamos toda esa mierda!

EN/FR/IT/DE – ‘Concerning the New Memorandum and the Elections of 20 September’ by Nikos Maziois of R.O.- Revolutionary Struggle (Greece)

September 9th, 2015

Nikos Maziotis – FR

Nikos Maziotis – IT

Nikos Maziotis – DE

The 3rd Memorandum signed by the SYRIZA government marks the complete political bankruptcy of the left regime and the chimerical aspirations for a more “humane” capitalism. After taking office last January, this marks the collapse of the attempted Syriza management of the defeat of the popular social movements from the period 2010-2012. For those who had no illusions, this whole period until the adoption of the 3rd Memorandum represents simply a waiting period for the predicted backtracking, where the campaign promises to repeal or renegotiate the Memorandum and partial cancelling of the debt along with a parallel policy for the relief of the poor was first followed by the agreement of February 20 which extended the second memorandum, and then came (despite the disapproval of 62% of the voters in the referendum of July 5 rejecting the proposals of lenders) the third memorandum which is much worse than the measures rejected in the referendum.

Within a few months, Syriza crossed over its “red lines” in complete retreat and acceptance of the creditors’ demands, towards the acceptance of a Memorandum far more brutal than that which was voted by the previous Samaras government.

“First time left” [note: πρώτε φορά αριστερά- a popular Syriza slogan claiming that they were for the first time a left government in Greece’s history, as if they were somehow different from PASOK] and the total humiliation of the will of the social majority to get rid of Memorandum policies that make them serfs of the markets is unprecedented. Evi Statiri to commence hunger strike on September 14th, 2015 (Greece)

September 9th, 2015

Evi Statiri, held hostage by the Greek state at Korydallos Prison for no other reason than being the life companion of imprisoned Conspiracy of Cells of Fire (CCF) member Gerasimos Tsakalos, has announced that she will commence a hunger strike on September 14th.

The announcement came not long after Evi’s latest appeal to be released was rejected by the judicial council.

Here are some roughly translated excerpts from a text by Evi announcing her hunger strike that was posted on Athens Indymedia website…

“The latest refusal from the judicial council in consideration of my release has only confirmed what I already knew from the first day that I found myself in the cells of counter-terrorism. My imprisonment is not just a personal matter. My imprisonment is the reflection of an overall repressive strategy aiming to dominate via fear and to satisfy the vengeful fury of law enforcement against political prisoners and all those whose values are not consistent with the culture of power.”

“I still find myself in prison for the unique ‘incriminating’ element that I am the wife of political prisoner and member of the CCF, Gerasimos Tsakalos. I am still in prison because I refused to sign their ‘certificate of social conscience’ and refuse to disown my partner and our relationship.”

“Anybody standing beside political prisoners may find themselves in the adjacent cell… Anybody who refuses to bow their head, silence their voice or lower their gaze towards the idols of power can be dragged in handcuffs and detained by the courts and their investigation offices. But the solidarity actions carried out last week showed that fear can rule, but it cannot reign in the hearts and minds of free men and women. I send a big thank you to all those who by their actions expose the dictatorship of lies and hypocrisy of justice that keeps me locked in it’s cells. Now a new battle begins… The dismissive ultimatum of the judges leaves me only one answer – the last resort of the captive human – a hunger strike for my release.”

“Monday September 14 I begin a HUNGER STRIKE against fear and injustice.”

“Beyond right and wrong” by the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire – FAI/IRF (Greece)

September 8th, 2015

Inter Arma received and translated:

“I don’t believe in rights. Life, which is all a manifestation of incoherent forces, unknown and unknowable, rejects the human artificiality of the right. Rights were born when life was taken away from us. Indeed, originally, humanity had no rights. It lived and that was everything. Today, instead, there are thousands of rights; one could accurately say that everything which we have lost we call a right. I know that I live and that I desire to live. It is most difficult to put this desire into action. I am surrounded by a humanity that wants what everyone else wants. My isolated affirmation is a most serious crime. Laws and morals, in competition, intimidate and persuade me. The “blonde rabbi” [I.e., Christ or Christian values.-translator] has triumphed. One prays, one implores, one curses, but one does not dare. Cowardice, caressed by Christianity, creates morality, and this justifies baseness and begets renunciation. [...] “Society, on the other hand, modest and clean in appearance, but horribly infected with gangrene throughout its body, makes me vomit, fills me with horror and loathing, kills me.” How I envy the great Bonnot! “Il me faut vivre ma vie!” * / “It is necessary that I live my life”” Bruno Filippi

(An Italian anarcho-nihilist who was charged with several armed attacks and was killed by a bomb he carried, on September 7th, 1919, when trying to place it at the “Nobles Club”, headquarters of the wealthiest Italian businessmen)

Beyond the right and the wrong…

For Anarchy
The most important and nicest things are spoken in the simplest way. Today, though, the reality of our lives is far from simple.
So, we often note that the more complicated the words (and boring, at the same time) that “specialists” of political delivery and the “revolutionary” rhetoric alchemists use, the more uninvited their oversimplifications are.
The theorist “rebels” construe the world through the tyranny of their “obvious truths”. Their whole rhetorical calcification and their wooden words, that lulls to sleep through their undeviating dogmatism, comes to transfer “social revolution” to an oversimplified version of the eternal fight between the “good” people and the “bad” state, between the “right” and the “wrong” fairytale.

But if things were that simple, why hasn’t this fairytale, for centuries, come to an end, with the triumph of the “good” and for all of us to “live happily ever after”? Read the rest of this entry »

Multiple hits of anarchist sabotage and attack in various cities – June to Sept 2015 (Italy)

September 8th, 2015

2nd of September, MODENA – Anonymous claim: “2nd of September, Saliceta street – Some cables of a Wind phone mast are set on fire. Let’s sabotage the infrastructures complicit with the cop control. Freedom for Pippo, Tommy and Andrea accused of having set the house of a fascist on fire. Solidarity with the comrades hit by the requests of special surveillance in Trentino and Sardegna. Fire to the gears of ordinary repression”.

31st of August, PISA
- A 28 years old guy threw a molotov to the entrance of a building that was hosting – in the past – a Lega Nord (xenophobic party) headquarters. Arrested by the Carabinieri [paramilitary police] thanks to the cooperation of citizens who witnessed the scene. He declared to be anarchist and to have attacked the Lega Nord because it’s a fascist party. He’s now held in the jail of Pisa.

19th of August CREMONA – A phone mast is set on fire and a spraypainted message is left on the place: “Revenge for Emilio”. Emilio is a comrade from Cremona who fell into a coma after a fight with the Nazis of Casa Pound and is now slowly recovering. The people from the communist social centre CSA Dordoni in which Emilio is involved, immediately took distance from the action declaring that “Antifascism is a serious issue that we need to address urgently. To set a phone mast on fire doesn’t go in this direction”. In the same night also the car of Gianluca Galli, the boss of Casapound Cremona, goes on fire and is completely destroyed.

29th of July PARMA - During the night a sabotage hits the TAV (high speed line) railway between Bologna and Milano. Around 4 am the cables in the manholes between Fidenza and Fontanellato were set on fire, causing troubles to the circulation. No claim of the action was released.

July GENOVA – A telecommunications mast was set on fire in a village close to Genova, an anonymous claim is released on the 13th of July:

Without any doubt we could describe present society as a technocratic system in which, at a global level, reckless science and the products it launches in the market dominate and regulate life. Since their very existence, the corporations keep their dominion over the Planet thanks to the States and international institutions (ONU, UE, FMI, BCE).

The hyper-technological society is the perfect society to fulfill the two main necessities of the Power: profit and social control. Thanks to science and technology, promoted as modern deities, profit doesn’t know any more limit: from military devices to the incredible quantity of useless products put on the market. Also social and life control cannot but spread even more every day, from the simple cameras to the use of nanotechnologies. People, already deprived of any autonomy and own will, are introduced to the fabulous world of science through a partial and fictitious access to technology.
With the fantasy of improving the quality of life, the only real effects are a reckless production, the wasting of the minds and of our own abilities, the erasing of real emotions, therefore of life itself.
All of this happens while in front of our eyes nature gets devastated to build huge projects that will allow to move these goods even faster and to trace them even more easily. All of this happens while television, in the general indifference, broadcasts images of populations wiped out and starved to exploit the available resources to increase the production of these goods.

For once we simply decided to elude control and threaten the profit of the technocratic society.

We set fire to the power source cables of a telecommunications mast property of Italsite Spa, a company specialized in this sector in Italy and Europe.

11th of July MODENA – Anonymous claim: “11th of July – Cabins and cables of a phone mast are set on fire against repression and telematic control. From Baltimora to Frankfurt, from Milano to Cremona, the State is the one who devastes and plunders. Revenge for Emilio! Ciao Soledad”. The phone mast was so damaged by the fire that it had to be cut down and removed.
