Greece: Shooting of a comrade in Exarchia on December 4, 2013 (Athens)

December 7th, 2013

via Contra Info

Before I start describing the incident, I would like to mention the reasons why I haven’t initiated any formal complaint or lawsuit. First off, I declare myself an anarchist-antiauthoritarian. Therefore, my conscience cannot be misled by legal proceedings. Freedom combatants should draw the battle lines against the system and its “privileges” offered to us. In the following account of the incident (which occurred two days before the anniversary of the murder of comrade Alexis Grigoropoulos, in 2008), I want to make it clear that I do not consider myself a victim of the described attack, because the battle lines are drawn, and we stand against the enemy, as I already mentioned. “On anarchism and violence” by Antti Rautiainen is now banned in Russia

December 7th, 2013

28th of November Lenin district court of the city of Tyumen uphold a request of the prosecutor of the Lenin district on recognition a text I wrote two years ago as “extremist”.

My article “on anarchism and violence” was published in issue 33 of Avtonom journal in autumn of 2011, and also in 5th issue of Finnish anarchist journal Väärinajattelija. I published both of these texts with a pseudonyme, as I did not want Russian authorities to pay unsoliticed attention to my person. Now I have translated this text to English, as I would like as many people as possible to make conclusion on justification of the decision of the Lenin district court of Tyumen. A Call for Solidarity with the Avtonom-journal, several issues of which are now banned in Russia!

December 7th, 2013

On Thursday the 28th of November, the Lenin district court of the city of Tyumen upheld the request of the prosecutor of said district in recognizing five articles of the journal Avtonom as “extremist.”

Of these, two are available in English: “Notes of a co-conspirator” is an obituary written by a friend in memory of Moscow anti-fascist and anarchist Ivan Khutorskoy, who was murdered in November of 2009. This text was published in issue 32 of the journal, and according to experts, it was “instigating hatred against the social group of right-wing radical skinheads.” Another of the banned texts which is available in English is “On anarchism and violence” by Antti Rautiainen, originally published under a pseudonym in the 33rd issue of the journal in the fall of 2011, and translated for this occasion. ‘The Disappeared’ by V.Q

December 6th, 2013

Text taken from our pamphlet printed with Dark Matter Publications‘Anarchy – Civil or Subversive?’ : A Collection of Texts Against Civil Anarchism.

Isn’t it strange how those who most loudly talk about ‘the mass’, ‘the people’, ‘the community’ – who repeat ad nauseam the importance of the social and pour scorn upon the individualists, that these people should begin their project by separating themselves off from their professed acolytes. And that, in their wild vitriol against those anarchists who refuse to submit to their rule, and their group-think, they impose a separateness on us who, in our anonymity and getting-on-with-it-in-our-own-way, are simply some of the people? When we break with the movement and submerge back into the ‘mass’ (whatever that means), the civil anarchists attempt to crush us, to ridicule our thought, our goals, our personal strategies for life, to describe our daily lives, activities and our characters in their arguments – as if they knew us – in order to shoot us down. And in this microcosmic revelation of the social tyranny, we see how this way is no more for liberation than Society’s: it is for conformity and the erasing of the difficult elements – a dystopia. ‘Fighters, do not despair or hesitate!’ by V.Q

December 6th, 2013

Text taken from our pamphlet printed with Dark Matter Publications‘Anarchy – Civil or Subversive?’ : A Collection of Texts Against Civil Anarchism.

Fighters, do not despair or hesitate! We are at war. And as in all wars, distinctions begin to gather – rebels, fighters, discreet purveyors of safe houses, information and weapons, collaborators, the acquiescent, the ones who sit it out and keep their heads down, the new police which is made up of friends and lovers, not only the common enemies. We must understand that anarchism is a word that can be taken by anyone and so we must look to action as well as to speech. Not every anarchist is an anarchist, not every anarchist is for us. This is the first wound of war, but need not be fatal.

Comrades, do not be afraid to attack your friend if this becomes necessary because it is only when war is declared and we wake from more sonambulent times (I do not say peaceful), that the things we let pass then, now become essential to confront. Years of creeping irritation and depression become outright argument. And not only that. Last year, in response to heightened night-time attacks against infrastructure by anti-social anarchists, a social anarchist group in Easton, Bristol, (UK) cut back some trees on a cycle path “in broad daylight” so that the nice middle-class cyclists who are gentrifying the area could be safe from the teenage underclass muggers and wrote a communiqué as if it was a political action in a blatant attempt to insult and recuperate the attacks by the anarchists of praxis and the new FAI. Fuck Indymedia and the Anarcho-Left

December 5th, 2013

Text taken from our pamphlet printed with Dark Matter Publications‘Anarchy – Civil or Subversive?’ : A Collection of Texts Against Civil Anarchism.

Indymedia UK & Bristol have repeatedly allowed their websites to be used as platforms to smear and denigrate the insurrectional project, that of the FAI/CCF/IRF, 325 and the anarchists of praxis.

It is known for a long time that these sites allow the spreading of lies and falsities against the insurrectionals, and that they allow the publishing of photos of demonstrations without naturally blurring the faces of those taking part, compromising their security, and most disgusting, those being arrested, rapidly aiding the filling of police files with their actions.

Not only do they allow the publishing and dissemination of rumours which only serve repression but they have acted as judges on the supposed nature of the sabotages and attacks. They sought to impose their discrimination on the attacks and upon the action groups, aiming at having a dominating influence on their behaviour, like the civil anarchists who also believed through their hysterical denunciations they could impose their own servility on the uncontrollables.

Their hostility to our projects is nothing surprising, as IMC UK & Bristol are tiny forums for the last desperate cries of the British activist herd who are stuck in the mire of legalism and so-called ‘direct’ democracy. Despite continuous anarchist property destruction and the riots of 2011, the ‘movement’ has been shown to be almost totally out-of-touch and out-of-date; the fire of individual insurgency was not in need of amateur journalistic fleas, keyboard kaisers or do-gooder hyaenas. Berlin: Sabotage of Vodafone radio tower (Germany)

December 5th, 2013

The night before last night we attacked the electronic communication net in Berlin (Germany). Our act of sabotage took place at a Vodafone radio tower and is meant as a symbol against total surveillance by governments, secret services and transnational corporations. Vodafone was chosen because it is eagerly engaged in cooperating with the british secret service GCHQ. GCHQ cooperates with the american secret service NSA. And NSA in turn cooperates with german secret service BND. Secret services collect patterns of normality and compare particular behaviours in order to find out if you could plan something deviant before you know it yourself. The collaborations of secret service industry and the industry’s secret services secure the conditions of profit and power for both of them.

For us, the careless use of electronic devices and internet applications is problematic: Every move can be digitalized and technology is not neutral. We don’t know how an emancipatory development of communication looks like, but we believe it would work in a different way and we have to find out together. In the meantime, we encourage to block infrastructure and bring it to a halt – against the stream of exploitation and surveillance, against a society based on destruction of human and nature.
Sabotage of the surveillance industry and infrastructures of exploitation!
Blind secret services!
Freedom of Movement and asylum for Edward Snowden and everybody else – No border, no nation!
Freedom for Chelsea Manning!

Bristol city council mobile CCTV vans attacked (UK)

December 5th, 2013

Communique:

this is for the curtain-twitchers & community-snitchers, “their out there!” bolt your doors, lock up your daughers.

It a lovely sunny day, the last day of november, not long past twelve, the location according to the view-finder is the foot of brunel’s famous bridge, so positioned at smeaton road, hotwells, all that was left as they say”just a little speck of dust on the lense” and the noise of a car-alarm. 3 vans had their windscreens cracked, 2 were mobile cctv vans & the other was a security. This was just a small token for the distaste felt for being constantly watched, that so many people vocalise, but ultimately feel powerless to act,. There will be more actions like this so keep your eyes open, a view to a thrill, you’d think day-time in the city & cctv they’d have our lives sewn-up……..not so, Still chucking rocks in the free world.

Urgent Health Campaign for Political Prisoner Robert Seth Hayes + Letter from Robert & his daughter Crystal (USA)

December 5th, 2013

Robert Seth Hayes was arrested in 1973, after police opened fire on his apartment while he was home with his wife and children. This occurred as a result of the U.S. government’s illegal Counterintelligence Program (COINTELPRO), in a climate dominated by portrayals of black militants as murderers and cop-killers. Seth, a former member of the Black Panther Party, was convicted for the death of a NYC transit cop and for the attempted murder of the cops who stormed his apartment. He received a sentence of 25 years to life, and is being held at the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden, NY.

In 1998, Seth was diagnosed with diabetes, and has been struggling with prison administrators to get decent healthcare for his disease. Seth became eligible for parole in 1998, but despite an excellent prison record, Seth’s sixth bid for parole was denied in 2008. Read the rest of this entry »

Graffiti in solidarity with the Mi’kmaq warriors’ road blockade in New Brunswick against the fracking company SWN (Kanada)

December 5th, 2013

Last night (December 2nd), we painted graffiti in solidarity with the Mi’kmaq warriors’ road blockade in New Brunswick against the fracking company SWN. It reads “Solidarity with the Mi’kmaq blockades,” “Fuck RCMP, Fuck OPD,” “Fight back,” and “Solidarity with the Mi’kmaq Warriors.”

With this humble gesture we send them the strength of knowing that they are not alone and that their brave actions are inspiring us to show our feelings of revolt in more concrete terms. This is just the beginning for us, we intend to escalate our level of conflictuality.

We also put up a large piece that read “Strength + courage, fuck the state,” not only for Germaine Jr Breau and the rest of the brave Mi’kmaq warriors, but for all those who show courage in times of adversity. We would like to take this opportunity to send greetings of solidarity to: The five recently arrested in Barcelona including Monica Caballero and Francisco Solar who remain in custody, the accused comrades of the Nea Filadelfia bank robbery case in Greece and to the inspiring Alfredo Cospito and Nicola Gai recently sentenced for the shooting of a CEO of a nuclear power company, your words are more important and inspiring than you can imagine.

In furtherance of an escalated anarchist conflict in the States, solidarity to the Mi’kmaq warriors and all those who fight back.

Athens: Responsibility claim for attack on internet café (Greece)

December 5th, 2013

On Tuesday evening, November 26th, 2013 we raided the Palladium internet café, located on Solomou street in Exarchia. We vandalized its interior, smashing the screens and the storefront glass-windows, and we torched the server, taking appropriate measures to prevent accidents. Then we left all together in a coordinated manner and absolute safety, in order to avoid any unfortunate encounter with dogs of the DELTA motorcycle police team.

Several incidents have reached our ears in relation to this internet café, including the fact that it was one of the cops’ favorite spots in downtown Athens, something that even the owner himself admitted during the attack.

Every peaceful citizen who voluntarily dress themselves in police uniform, everyone who are looking forward to receiving a pat on the back from cops for offering their “services”, everyone whose misery and subservience have permeated every inch of their personality should keep in mind that nothing goes unanswered. We will do everything in our power to give snitches what they deserve: the realization of their worst nightmare, a response to their intentional submission. They have a name, an address, they run their shops, and we know them very well. Their logic is dangerous; they have worn-out ideals, and have consciously taken on the submissive role of an informant. If they think we will allow them to perform their task without bearing the consequences, then they are woefully mistaken. Let individuals like the owner of the Palladium internet café know that they will constantly be targeted by us, because we will keep showing our aversion at well-meaning informers and associates of all sorts of cops. We owe this to our imprisoned comrades, those who left us early and did not fulfill their insurrectionary vision, those who ran into “bad luck” due to the work of advocates of intentional submissiveness, as well as those who continue the fight for the disorder and deconstruction of social inaction.

We dedicate this attack to the 4 comrades arrested in Nea Filadelfeia (Argyris Ntalios, Fivos Harisis, Grigoris Sarafoudis, Yannis Naxakis)

Strength to the 6 anarchists currently on trial for the Velventos case (Andreas-Dimitris Bourzoukos, Dimitris Politis, Nikos Romanos, Yannis Michailidis, Argyris Ntalios, Fivos Harisis), and to those who continue their struggle on the inside

Madrid: Words of anarchist Francisco Solar from the prison of Navalcarnero, 3.12.2013 (Spain)

December 5th, 2013

To leave no room for doubt…

As anarchists we are in constant confrontation with the State/Capital in all its manifestations; this is a no-brainer. But sometimes, especially when Power falls down on us in all its brutality, glances get confused making strides towards ambiguous and unclear positions. I believe it’s necessary to maintain consistency, and not give rise to victimizing and defeatist discourses or practices. Perhaps now we should take a step back, but always to make five steps forward on the enticing pathway of incertitude to total liberation.

A strong embrace to all anarchist prisoners, held in prison worldwide, especially to Juan Aliste, Marcelo Villarroel and José Miguel Sánchez, with whom I had the opportunity to share experiences on the inside (in Chile).

Uncertain of what will come, yet unhesitating against Power

For Anarchy…

Santiago: Phoenix Project #8 – Action with incendiary/explosive device against a Board of Elections office and in solidarity with Mónica Caballero and Francisco Solar (Chile)

December 1st, 2013

Phoenix Project, Act 8: Action with incendiary/explosive device against a Board of Elections office and in solidarity with Mónica Caballero and Francisco Solar. (Chile)

We are not spectators, but convinced enemies of all forms of domination.

Today, wielding the weapons of life and the ideas of rebellion, we wanted to give away a bit of anarchic momentum.

Today, we decided to attack the 98th Board of Elections office in La Reina commune [in Santiago] with an incendiary/explosive device, because we are convinced that the current state of affairs is sustained not only by those who administer domination, but also in the servile attitude of those who tacitly endorse it. Durham, North Carolina: Reflections on march for Chuey Huerta (USA)

December 1st, 2013

via Anonymous:

The report below is only a snapshot of what occurred on November 22nd. Our experience did not occur in isolation as a set of incommunicable facts and feelings. It is also not a historical narrative which swallows everything it does not crush. We hold out hope for some other form of thinking somewhere between the two.

“The police kill us youth, us young people, because they are afraid of us. They are afraid of the things we think and the things we know.” – one of Chuy’s friends, at the beginning of the event.

On Tuesday, November 19th 2013, Jesus “Chuy” Huerta died of gunshot wounds to the chest and head in the back seat of a Durham police vehicle. While police reported that the 17 year old was in the back of the cop car because he had been arrested for trespassing, the presence of a gun – an impossibility according to normal search procedure – has yet to be explained. The circumstances surrounding Chuy’s death have been obscured. Read the rest of this entry »

November 30th, 2013

A message from the HWY 11 Land Defenders:

“We are not giving up despite these harsh weather conditions, sacrificing time with our families, our jobs, our homes, not only to protect land, water and people but to ensure a brighter future for the next 7 generations. We are asking for more support, through road blocks to be in solidarity. This is not just an Elsipogtog issue, this is a global issue and we need to raise awareness. Show us support any way possible, sending thank you’s, road blocks, banners, even dropping by, all and every type of support is appreciated.”

The 3rd encampment in Mi’kmaq Territory, at HWY 11, which saw stand off’s between the Mi’kmaq peoples protecting the water and RCMP protecting corporate interests, is requesting widespread global support. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Anarchy – Civil or Subversive?’ : A Collection of Texts Against Civil Anarchism

November 30th, 2013

PDF: Civil anarchism book

Bored of the type of anarchism that seems to exist only as a boring routine of endless meetings and crap benefit gigs full of self-important tossers?
Sick of middleclass mummys boys pretending to be proles?
Fed up of being told what the “class struggle” is and isn’t?

We are too and so we put together this booklet about it.

Yolanda’s aftermath and Autonomous Initiative (Philippines)

November 29th, 2013

Yolanda is one of the most destructive typhoons to have visited the Philippine archipelago. It pummeled the Visayas region, particularly Leyte and some parts of Cebu and Panay areas. Super typhoon Yolanda left the archipelago with thousands of dead people, commercial and residential structures destroyed, power knocked-out; agriculture and livelihoods are washed-out that caused billions of losses. Destruction is so extensive that it caused unimaginable effect to the survivors.

Government’s Response caused more devastation to the people

The Philippine archipelago is in the frontline of calamity brought by storms. It is a common knowledge impossible to miss especially by the government which is supposed to be the authority in terms of preparation and rehabilitation. The huge number of dead people scattered in Leyte is attributable to the incapacity of the government to install preparatory mechanism to lessen casualties, the Philippine government did not learn from our past experience of havoc due to storm surges. ‘Kegembiraan Yang Dipersenjatai’ – Alfredo M Bonanno (Armed Joy – Indonesian)

November 29th, 2013

KEGEMBIRAAN YANG DIPERSENJATAI – Alfredo M Bonanno

Introduksi

Long-term political prisoner John Bowden’s Recent Parole Hearing (UK)

November 23rd, 2013

via a comrade of Brighton ABC:

On November 6th the Parole Board for England and Wales carried out it’s statutory obligation to review my continued detention after more than three decades in prison and many years beyond what the judiciary originally recommended I should serve in jail. Following an earlier parole hearing in May 2011 the board had recommended my transfer to an open prison in preparation for my release 12 months hence. Almost three years later I remain in a maximum-security prison because of what the prison system and a criminal justice system social worker claim is my politicised anti-authoritarian attitude and “rigid belief system” that is antipathetic to my being properly supervised outside a custodial setting. No one who gave evidence at the parole hearing, even representatives of the prison system, claimed that I represented any sort of threat or risk to the community, the usual reason or criterion for the continued detention of a life sentence prisoner beyond what the judiciary had originally recommended as the appropriate length of time they should serve in jail.
