“Giroshin Sha” – An anarchist-illegalist cell, formed in Japan in the early 20th century

April 29th, 2014

Photo from the trial of

Photo from the trial of “Giroshin Sha” cell

“Giroshin Sha” (Guillotine Society) was an anarchist – illegalist cell, formed in Japan in 1922. This cell expropriated banks, in order to finance its activities.

“Giroshin Sha” attempted to execute the general Masataro Fukuda twice, who was in the group which was responsible for the assassination of the most prominent anarchist writer of his time in Japan, Osugi Sakae.

At the first attempt, one of Osugi’s former comrades, Kyutaro Wada, shot Fukuda but he only managed to injure him and at the second attempt, a bomb was placed at his house by Genjirop Muraki and Futura, but unfortunately he was not there.

In 1924, the member of “Giroshin Sha” Tetsu Nakahama (among others) attacked the chairman of Kanedo Co. company and was arrested.

In 1925, Nakahama, along with his comrade and also member of “Giroshin Sha” Daijiro Futura, were executed for “anti – governmental actions”, including a bank robbery in 1923 and planning the execution of Prince Hirohito. Kyutaro Wada was sentenced to life imprisonment and he committed suicide in his cell.

The article’s research was conducted by the imprisoned members of C.C.F.

In Praise of Chaos – Enzo Martucci

April 29th, 2014

Libertarian communism is also known, particularly in Latin countries, by the name of “anarchist communism.” It is not. On the contrary, the two words are a contradiction in terms.

Communism signifies a social condition in which the means of production and all material goods belong to the mass of the people who identify themselves with the totality or majority of society. Everyone has their goods disposed of according to the way decided by those who govern and whose law all must obey.

Anarchy signifies the absence of government: that is to say, a state of things in which the individual is not held in obedience to anyone, lives as he pleases, and is limited only by the extent of his power. He uses moral and material goods in the particular manner he prefers without having to get the approval of his fellows. Read the rest of this entry »

War preparations between Ukraine and Russia – Show or reality? (Třídní válka)

April 28th, 2014

The historical collapse of a model of management of the capitalist social relation, the one that had developed among others in Eastern Europe during several decades of counterrevolution, led to the dissolution and the disappearance of the USSR as an imperialist bloc. Since then, the proletariat in this region, as everywhere else in the world, had to undergo numerous new attacks against its survival conditions, but at the same time it also burned a certain number of illusions fuelled by the Western propaganda praising to the skies ad nauseam another model of management of capitalism considered to be more “human”, more “free”. This so much vaunted “world of peace and harmony”, this new Eden promised to the “useful idiots” at the time of the fall of the iron curtain that sealed the end of a “bipolarized world”, all these illusions get more and more smashed.

Rumours of war resound noisily in Europe again, cannons are loaded, fighter-bombers are packed with murderous bullets and bombs, missiles point their nuclear warheads at their future objectives: after wars that caused unrest locally and according to circumstances in Yugoslavia, Georgia, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ossetia etc. during this last quarter of century, preconditions for a new war have been intensively maturing in the Ukraine now, a war much more extensive and with unimaginable international effects. May Day 2014 – Call for Anarchist Action and news on Mayday actions in Cardiff and London (UK)

April 28th, 2014

From anarchistaction.net:

On Mayday 2014 Anarchist Action Network is calling for anarchists to unite in One Common Struggle. We are calling on you to join fellow anarchists and remember the victims of the system’s oppression, take action against the symbols of the state and capitalism and hold events highlighting the need to struggle for a better world.

May Day was first celebrated as a day of international workers’ solidarity in 1890. It was called to commemorate the murder of four anarchist workers in Chicago by the US government.

On this May day in 2014 let us unite our struggles in looking back to the Anarchist origins of May Day and take action in memory of all who are dying every day at the hands of the capitalist system. Let us also remember those who have died or been imprisoned fighting it. From the Mayday Anarchists in Chicago to Carlo, the young man executed by police at the 2001 Genoa summit against the G8. Right now in the UK there is an all out assault on activists involved in the animal rights movement, one of whom was sentenced today to a 6 year prison sentence for ‘conspiring to blackmail’ Huntingdon Life Sciences. Dozens more AR activists are facing political trials in the UK as the law continues to be used to protect corporate power against public anger. For more details see here. Mayday is a time to show our solidarity against a system that kills and imprisons in order to keep us in chains. Read the rest of this entry »

‘March for England’ – Anti-fascists beat the Nazis off the streets of Brighton again! (UK)

April 28th, 2014

¡No Pasarán!

From inthebellyofthebeast:

The annual March for England portrayed as a patriotic protest on St Georges day is an excuse for the fascist scum of the EDL (English Defence League) to plague the streets of Brighton. This year they got was coming to them when they were out numbered by 2,000 anti-fascists coming from all across the country.

The march this year was shortened due to the collapse of the road at the sea front. (even nature did not want the fascists to march) As usual the march was confronted on its route but restricted by a massive police presence with forces even being shipped in from as far as Cornwall. Also included on the day was the much loved TSG (Tactical Support Group, extremely violent militant police unit) and extensive fencing that included mobile barricades that closed off all streets reaching the beach front where the march was proceeding.

Anti-fascists on the day had no illusions that march at the sea would be impregnable and chose to roam the city centre of Brighton in affinity groups seeking the fascists who would be walking down from the railway station, with some drinking in pubs away from the march looking for a fight with those they are against such as anyone who is not white or skin headed, such as the racist attacks that happened last year after the march. Rome: Presentation of a new Anarchist Black Cross newsletter at the Bencivenga squat (Italy)

April 27th, 2014

Introductory note by RadioAzione, via Actforfree:

I receive and transmit the editorial of the Anarchist Black Cross newsletter, which will be presented on 25th April at the Bencivenga Squat in Rome. Besides spreading letters from prisoners and claims of attacks, counter-information should propose analysis, be it from the internet or on paper. I’m sorry I don’t agree with some passages of this editorial, when the comrades probably talk without having a direct experience of counter-information via web. Most importantly, there exist no virtual worlds but comrades who meet in person and organize initiatives all over the world. But I’m happy about this new Anarchist Black Cross bulletin, especially as there’s always the need of analysis on paper:

Fires of revolt continue to brighten the darkness of a world otherwise destined to annihilate the individual and lead him/her to homogenized slavery: these pages aim at stoking the fire and lighting more of them.

One of the few advantages offered by the obsessive search for global information is the revelation that even on the other side of the world there are hearts beating at the same rhythm as ours, hearts which arm skilled hands skilled in doing much more than typing a keyboard. The race to the abyss carried out by technological society is getting increasingly frantic, but fighters all over the world are keeping the pace; and even if they risk of being crashed by such a gigantic monster, they are struggling against it so as to make it fall down. Now is the time to roll up our sleeves and do more. Read the rest of this entry »

Athens: R.O. – Revolutionary Struggle claims responsibility for a major car bomb attack (Greece)

April 26th, 2014

Via Contra-Info:

In the early morning hours of Thursday, April 10th, 2014 —after two warning phone calls to the media— a car bomb with 75kg of explosives was detonated outside one of Bank of Greece’s offices, located at Amerikis Street in Athens, causing extensive material damages in the surrounding area (but no injuries).

Fifteen days later, the urban guerrilla group Revolutionary Struggle (Epanastatikos Agonas) claimed responsibility for the bombing. Below are just a few excerpts from their lengthy articulate communiqué (a complete translation is always welcome!).

As many of you may recall, three anarchists revealed their membership in the group four years ago, in April 2010: Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa, who have gone underground since the summer of 2012 (recently, the government placed a huge bounty on their heads), and Kostas Gournas, who is currently held captive in Koridallos prison.

Responsibility claim by the organization Revolutionary Struggle [25.4.2014]

On the 10th of April 2014, Revolutionary Struggle carried out a bombing attack against the Supervision Directorate of the Bank of Greece at Amerikis Street [Athens], a building which also houses the IMF’s resident representative in Greece, Wes McGrew. Although the blow targeted the Bank of Greece, the head office of Piraeus Bank which is located exactly on the opposite side of the street also suffered damage, what makes the hit even more successful, because the Piraeus Bank has evolved in one of the larger systemic Greek banking institutions after the acquisition of ATEbank, it has benefited from the predatory memorandum-policy applied against the Greek people in recent years, and is one of the financial factors that are jointly responsible for people’s woes.

The attack was carried out with a car bomb containing 75kg of ANFO explosive. Exactly four years after the crackdown against the organization, and while the State alongside many enemies of armed struggle were cheering for the “success of dismantling” the Revolutionary Struggle, this action came to prove them wrong. The bombing against the Bank of Greece is dedicated to anarchist comrade Lambros Foundas, a member of the Revolutionary Struggle who was killed in an armed clash with police officers in Dafni on March 10th, 2010, during a preparatory action of the organization. The comrade lost his life during an attempt to expropriate a car which would be used in an action of the Revolutionary Struggle, in the context of the organization’s strategy of that period —a period which marked the beginning of the economic crisis. This strategy was intended to strike and sabotage structures, institutions and persons that hold a central role in the largest, historically, antipopular assault that was to take place with the signing of the first memorandum in May 2010. Lambros Foundas fought and gave his life so that the contemporary junta of economic and political elites would not pass —the junta of the IMF/ECB/EU troika. He fought and gave his life so that the contemporary junta of the Capital and the State would not pass. So that the new totalitarianism imposed all over the planet, on the pretext of the global financial crisis, would not pass. Lambros Foundas gave his life fighting to turn the crisis into an opportunity for social Revolution. The Bank of Greece bombing is to some extent a continuation of that strategy which included the attacks against Citibank, Eurobank and the Athens stock exchange.

Thus, in honor of our comrade, the action against the Bank of Greece bears the signature Commando Lambros Foundas. Besides, the best homage to a comrade who gave his life in struggle is to continue the struggle itself, for which he fell in combat. And this struggle has never had, or will ever have, any other direction but the overthrow of capitalism and the State —social Revolution.

A blow in response to Greece’s return to the markets

As everyone figured out —from the government, the parties, to the Greek and international media— we chose the 10th of April for our attack because this date marks the exit of the Greek State to international financial markets in search of the first long-term loan after four years; the next day, April 11th, the leader of the most powerful European State, protagonist in the enforcement of extreme neoliberal policies and austerity across Europe, and one of the most ideal exponents of the interests of European economic elites, the superterrorist German chancellor, Angela Merkel, was scheduled to arrive in Greece for the political and economic capitalization of this “Greek success”. (…)

The “salvation of the country” concerns the big capital, the transnational ruling class and the powerful lenders of the country. It concerns the structures and institutions of globalized capitalism. It is linked to the States, the political staff in Greece and Europe; to all sorts of political lackeys of the establishment, who support this regime at any price. It concerns a disgraceful minority of the Greek society.

Those whom this “salvation” does not concern —and instead they have paid and still pay with their own blood to save the system from the crisis— are the vast majority of people. The 5 million people who are living in conditions of poverty. The 2.5 million people who are living in absolute destitution. The 700,000 poor children who do not even have the basics, who are undernourished, who feel cold, suffer from fainting spells, and end up in institutions for a plate of food. Those who get sick, those who go mad. The ones who lose their home over debts to the banks and the State, those who live without electricity, those who lack the basic survival necessities. The 4,000 people who committed suicide because they were financially ruined. The thousands of homeless people, the ones who are depended on soup kitchens, who are digging through garbage to feed themselves, those who are slowly dying on the sidelines. All of these wretched that went financially and socially bankrupt, and pay the “salvation of the country” with their lives and the lives of their children. All these people have come to understand what it means to see your life go bankrupt, what it means to see your life not worth anything anymore. They have come to understand that the “avoidance of Greece’s bankruptcy” means war against society, social euthanasia. (…)

Social revolution cannot be postponed to an indefinite future, nor be limited to an indistinct projectuality. It requires constant revolutionary action in the present time, and involves the organization and formation of a ground-breaking revolutionary movement that will elaborate and define its strategic steps, and clash with the establishment’s centralized policies. It involves the political process and willingness to put specific revolutionary proposals into practice.

In the present circumstances, a revolutionary platform could be summarized as follows:

-Unilateral termination of payment of the Greek debt.

-Exit from the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) and the European Union (EU).

-Expropriation of assets of the Capital, large companies, multinational corporations, of all movable and immovable property of the capitalists.

-Abolition of the banking system, erasure of all debts to banks,
handover of small possessions that were seized by banks, and
socialization of bank assets.

-Expropriation of state property and utilities companies; expropriation of church property.

-Socialization of the means of production, industry, ports, means of transfer and communication, transportation, utilities, hospitals and educational institutions; the workers will engage in their managing.

-Abolition of the State and the bourgeois parliament of professional politicians, to be replaced by a confederal system of popular assemblies and workers’ councils, whose coordination, communication and decision-implementation will be achieved through delegates elected and immediately recallable. At national level, in place of the old representative bourgeois parliament there will be a supreme Confederal People’s Assembly, whose members will be authorized members-delegates elected and immediately recallable by the local popular assemblies and workers’ councils.

-Abolition of the police and the army, to be replaced by an armed popular militia, not a mercenary one.

A discussion and agreement upon a revolutionary platform is a prerequisite for the creation of a revolutionary anticapitalist movement, and as Revolutionary Struggle we wish to see a well-intentioned dialogue opening on this issue. It is necessary that a Revolution overcomes national borders. It is unrealistic to believe that a Revolution will be viable if confined within the national borders of a small country like Greece. However let us make a beginning here, in Greece, for the demolition of the Eurozone and the European Union, for the abolition of capitalism and the State. Let us put the armed proletarian counterattack into practice. Let us make a beginning here, in Greece, for an international social Revolution.

LONG LIVE SOCIAL REVOLUTION
FOR LIBERTARIAN COMMUNISM – FOR ANARCHY
FREEDOM TO POLITICAL PRISONERS

Two belated letters from Mario ‘Tripa’ Lopez, who has gone underground (Mexico)

April 26th, 2014

First Public Letter

You are waiting for the revolution! Very well! My own began along time ago! When you are ready — God, what an endless wait! — it won’t nauseate me to go along the road awhile with you!
But when you stop, I will continue on my mad and triumphant march toward the great and sublime conquest of Nothing!
Every society you build will have its fringes, and on the fringes of every society, heroic and restless vagabonds will wander, with their wild and virgin thoughts, only able to live by preparing ever new and terrible outbreaks of rebellion!
I shall be among them!

-RENZO NOVATORE, MY ICONOCLAST INDIVIDUALISM

Comrades, it’s been a long time I haven’t communicated nothing public, apart from a few things I wrote on the development of the juridical process against me for attacks to the public peace; this time, I’m not communicating to tell you something about this process or about juridical issues that don’t matter much to me right now and in reality I didn’t care much about to begin with. ‘Call for papers’ for Interference gathering on society and technology August 15-17 2014 (Netherlands)

April 25th, 2014

Interference, n:

1. preventing (a process or activity) from continuing or being carried out properly.

2. the combination of two or more electromagnetic waveforms to form a resultant wave in which the displacement is either reinforced or cancelled.

Interference is a gathering of people, perspectives, theories, and actions that share a critical approach to society and technology. It will take place at the Binnenpret in Amsterdam, NL from 15th to the 17th of August 2014. It will be a space where we can meet, debate, share, learn, and find our affinities and oppositions. The event comes as a response to the lack of a common ground for confrontation and discussion over themes like hacking, technology, art and politics that could break out of the existing containers and roles for such concepts and practices.

Interference is not a hacker conference. From a threat to the so-called national security, hacking has become an instrument for reinforcing the status quo. Fed up with yet another recuperation, the aim is to re/contextualize hacking as a conflictual praxis and release it from its technofetishist boundaries. Bypassing the cultural filters, Interference wants to take the technical expertise of the hacking scene out of its isolation to place it within the broader perspective of the societal structures it shapes and is part of. Destroika: Opening of the European Central Bank! | Frankfurt Fall 2014 (Germany)

April 23rd, 2014

Come to the Opening of the European Central Bank! | Frankfurt Fall 2014

A Call from the Destroika for a Fantastic Convergence of Resistance

From issue-less “days of action” to inconsequential general strikes, the recent struggles in Greece, Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal invariably seem to stumble over the limit of their own national frame of reference. The standpoint of the nation, long considered synonymous with political activity per se, be it that of the State or one or another revolutionary party, has revealed itself as being the very scale of our own collective powerlessness. It is this powerlessness, turned against itself, that fuels the fire of so many nationalist resentments. Read the rest of this entry »

Athens: Grenade strike against prison guard’s car (Greece)

April 23rd, 2014

Inter Arma received and translated:

On Tuesday 8 April, there was a grenade strike targeting the car (silver opel vectra) of the well-known guard G. Bardakis, at Zaimi street 33, Aigaleo. This strike is a small act of remembrance towards the murder of prisoner Ilir Kareli.

Kareli after having had enough being beaten, electrocuted, clubbed, doused with buckets of freezing water, tortured and humiliated by the prison guards, eventually “escaped” with his death from the hands of his torturers.

We know that his death will be soon forgotten. Like it happened with the thousands of deaths in the hell of prison from diseases, drugs and desperation.

The murderous guards, however much they tried to clean the blood using chlorine from the isolated prison cell, failed to do so. It remains there, as a mark on the wall, to remind that blood can only be cleaned with blood.

Now it’s our turn…

The night is our friend and its darkness embraces us. We pick up our weapons, ride our bikes and go hunting. Because tonight we hunt prison guards.

Our eyes and ears are everywhere.

Any bastard that raises his hand against a prisoner, will have it ripped off, whoever humiliates and assaults prisoners, will find us personally in his house, the gym he works out at or while waiting unsuspecting at the traffic light.

Everyone who turned violence into a profession against locked up people, will now pay in the same fashion.

We send our Strength and regards to every prisoner in there who supports the national mobilization against the reform bill for the construction of maximum security prisons “type C”.

Respect to the urban guerrillas of Informal Anarchist Federation. Solidarity and complicity to the anarchist comrades of praxis who, on Sunday 6 April, attacked the riot police outside Domokos prison.

THINK REVOLUTIONARY – ACT AGGRESSIVELY.

Warning:

————-

Every single prison guard that took part in Kareli’s torturing/murder is from now on WANTED.

We warn every one of the guards who was not sent to prison that their names -which are already known through the case file and the prisoners- are already in a list of permanent “deleting”.

However remote is the village that they hide in, however many professions they change, we will find them and ambush them.

As far as the imprisoned guards/torturers are concerned, they should know that no matter what protected prison or wing they end up in, they will meet their Fate. Every single prisoner is informed and we have friends everywhere. Their days are numbered… (and difficult…)

“Fear first nests in our souls and then raises the walls of its prisons” – A communique by CCF about prisons (Greece)

April 23rd, 2014

Inter Arma received from C.C.F. – Imprisoned Members Cell and translated:

-

A provocation… The flight of Christodoulos Ksiros from prison and his return to the armed struggle.

Many lies… The tv monologue, which describes how things inside prison are, making them look like a movie. “Terrorists who run things in prison…”

“The members of CCF are bossing prison guards around”

“Terrorists celebrate new year’s Eve and plan a prison escape.”

The enemy… The contruction of a prison inside prison codenamed “maximum security prison, type C”.

A truth… All of the world’s locks are not enough to imprison our unfaltering decision to remain enemies of authority until the end…

i. Propaganda becomes practice

In recent months, journalists, as owners of the only truth, following the commands of authority, created a teriffying atmosphere. A television script of “truth”, that talked about “bloodthirsty terrorists” and which was enriched with a provocative bounty of four million euros for every aspiring snitch, who would contribute to the arrest of the wanted persons. Behind  that ommunicative tide of lies, the truth of repression made its appearance.

Propaganda is followed by action…

The police campaign started with dozens of evasions in the houses of comrades and other individuals of the anarchist movement. At the same time, the terror hysteria had already thrived and the time was right to test the proposition of starting the first Greek Guantanamo. A Guantanamo, which authority firstly seeks to apply in Domokos prison, then in every prison and then everywhere, in the streets, in the city squares, into the people’s brains and souls. Because that is the target, indeed.

R.O – Revolutionary Struggle: Statement by N.Maziotis and P.Roupa in memory of L.Foundas (Greece)

April 23rd, 2014

March 10th 2010. Lambros Foundas, member of the Revolutionary Struggle falls dead by the bullets of a cop in Dafni during a preparatory action of the organization. Four years later the proposed political action of Lambros Foundas and the Revolutionary Struggle where he acted, is even more topical, the choice of struggle and the strategy of the action even more imperative. Four years later and the terms of life of millions of people are becoming more and more miserable in the name of saving the economic and political system which is being buried deeper and deeper in the crisis.

Four years ago comrade Lambros Foundas gave his life to a political attempt to not turn decadence into a way of life, to not sacrifice people in order to save the system. He gave his life to a political attempt whose final aim was to throw the corpse of capitalism and with It the state, in the trash of history. He gave his life to open the only path for the complete overcoming of crises, to open the way for social liberation, for Social Revolution. This is the matter which is worth fighting for, even dying for. Read the rest of this entry »

Letter by K.Gournas, member of R.O – Revolutionary Struggle, and D.Koufodinas, member of R.O. – 17 November (Greece)

April 23rd, 2014

Via Actforfree:

The legislation for the prisons creates the Greek Guantanamo.
Those incarcerated in these special kinds of the prisons:

-Are deprived of all rights the other prisoners have (days of leave, probation etc.)

-Have their visitation rights and phone calls minimized (almost eliminated).

-Remain locked in their cells for up to 23 hours a day.

A special police force comes into these prisons with classified duties and authorities.

This asphyxiating regime of detainment reminds us… of the American Guantanamo [Bay]. This legislation of Samaras, Dendias and Athanasiou is of fascist inspiration. Its an expression of a state of permanent emergency. It is the equivalent memorandum for the prisoners.

The micro-society of prison would not be unscathed by the full on attack on Greek society. The moment that at a global scale neo-liberal capitalism, in order to overcome the crisis steps on decades of vested rights, applies to Greek society the most inhuman version of this strategy. Damien Camélio, imprisoned member of the GADI (International Direct Action Group) announces hungerstrike in solidarity with prisoners of Iberia, Corsica, Euskadi (France)

April 23rd, 2014

I took the decision to subject myself to a total hunger strike.

My demands are of an anti-prison, libertarian and political nature.

As far as I don’t want to create a hierarchy among the prisoners, it seems to me logical to demand first of all the liberation and easing the penalties for those who are being held hostage for their courageous struggle for freedom of all.

Before I start, I feel that I need to remind something to the French ‘socialist’ government. One of the first measures applied by M. Mitterrand, that you claim all the ideological affiliation with, was amnesty for the prisoners of different organisations involved in a social struggle (like Action Directe, ETA, FLNC, ALP, …) To answer my demands by saying that the political situation back then was different, would be completely irrelevant. As a socialist party, you cannot deny the social pressure mounting on the poorest, you cannot deny that capitalism was ever so aggressive as it is today, neocolonialism so widespread and vicious, and the degeneration of society into fascism so present.
