Fuck the Vote! Prepare for Class War! – Demo at Tory HQ 2pm SAT 9th May – London (UK)

May 7th, 2015

Vote or don’t vote or spoil your ballot paper, it will make no difference. Politicians will sell you and take you for their personal power. Elections are just a choice between spokesmen of the rich. We don’t have to settle for it. We’ve got to get rid of the rich!

Class War candidate for Michael Fabricant’s safe Tory Lichfield seat, Andy Bennetts, said: “We’re having more of a pantomime than an election, where career minded politicos try to make a good impression with their party in the hope of being selected to fight a seat they have a chance of winning in the future.

“No one is contesting this election to win. Not even us. This election is a lot of bollocks. Don’t vote – it is a waste of time.”

Class War took to the streets on May Day, sweeping through the citadel of class exploitation: the City of London. The police could not contain the Fuck Parade mob. Hundreds of class warriors closed down Commercial Street, Tower Bridge, London Bridge and marched to the squats of Soho, where the battle rages against gentrification.

The City was brought to a standstill. It didn’t need party bureaucracies and vanguards. It was just the will of the raging mass.

The streets are our ballot box. The mob are our votes. Our class is our party.

Get out. There will be no Government on Friday. It’s ours. Let’s take it.

Class War is supporting a post-election action by London Black Revs. In a statement, LBR says: “The polls suggest a hung parliament; where no party wins a majority of seats. If so there will be a scramble for power, with the Tories and Labour trying to cobble together enough MPs from different parties to form a government. If they call a legitimate government, they will force through the worst cuts since the Second World War.

“We think the Tories and Labour sing from the same song sheet; with the difference between austerity and austerity-lite being nowhere near enough. When no-one represents us, we must take to the streets.”

Stop the ‘Tory Coup’ (UK)

May 7th, 2015

The Tories and their supporters in the press are preparing a post election plan to stay in office even if Labour and the SNP have more seats in Parliament.

They are planning to declare that they are the legitimate government and have the right to form an administration.

This was the meaning of the recent Times editorial which urged Cameron to ‘Occupy Downing Street’. This will be a ‘constitutional coup’ against the wishes of the electorate.

That’s why we are calling for an immediate protest if this happens:
Assemble: Saturday 9 May 1pm, Downing Street.

We cannot allow the Tories to get away with using a flagrant abuse of power to impose the most severe austerity this country has seen since the Second World War.

We will use this facebook event page to keep you updated about any changes to the time of the demonstration depending on the outcome of the election. Watch this space and, please, invite your friends and share the facebook event page.

More info:

Seumas Milne in the Guardian: “The Tories are plotting a coup in the name of legitimacy”
Owen Jones in New Statesman: “if the Tories get more seats than Labour, get ready for a Very British Coup”

Whatever happens, the People’s Assembly ‘End Austerity Now‘ national demonstration on Saturday 20 June is more important than ever.

Please keep spreading the word and lets make sure the new government feels the full force of the anti-austerity majority in Britain out on the streets in just six weeks time.

Tell the new government: End Austerity Now

Amenaza de Bomba y Sabotaje en Buenos Aires (Argentina)

May 7th, 2015

Police operation “Phoenix” against anarchists continues (Czech Republic)

May 6th, 2015

Police have just announced that 3 people being held in custody were accused of terrorism. According to Czech law the minimum penalty for this crime is 12 years and it is one of the very few crimes with possible life sentence. Two other people are accused of not reporting this crime and the last two of illegal arms (police reported they found an explosive timed device made of a steel tube). The case is apparently very serious. Terrorism charge gives the police some extra power and rights.

Other people arrested are being investigated for “supporting the movement seeking to violate human rights and freedom”, which is a crime designated for use against hate movements [racist/far-right].

Police released this story to the public: those accused planned an attack with Molotovs on a train transporting Hyundai cars. Two of them should have obtained
the “explosives”, two others should actually attack the train, the last three should work as scouts. The attack should have taken place last November but never happened for an unknown reason, it is possible it was just delayed.

The police say that all of them belong to “Conspiracy of Cells Of Fire”. All people were under surveillance at least since last September.

Prague: Squatted centre Cibulka is raided and evicted by police (Czech Republic)

May 6th, 2015

Today police evicted the only squatted place in Prague, Cibulka. In a massive raid 200 cops with water-cannon and even a helicopter arrested at least 12 people, at least 4 people were injured. There were around 50 people present in the place when the police came, most of them left the premises voluntarily. Four people occupied the roof but were forcibly removed. It is still unclear what exactly happened as police closed off the whole surrounding area. At least four people are in hospital now. At least 12 people are being held.

Cibulka was occupied by squatters two years ago. Soon they managed to sign an agreement with the owner, semi-public company Autoklub. For two years it was used legally, but that did not prevent police from raiding the place several times. Last month the contract was recalled by the owner. Yesterday evening the owner made a formal complain to police, today the place was evicted. It is an unprecedent speed of police work in the country where it is usual to wait 8 or more years for a court verdict and generally the justice system is very slow and ineffective…

Conspiracy of Cells of Fire – “Better to be a demon of vengeance, than an angel of forgiveness” / “Mejor ser un demonio de la venganza que un ángel del perdón” – Conspiración de las Células de Fuego (Greece)

May 6th, 2015

Inter Arma received and translated:

A signal of complicity from the Greek prisons, for the international call of solidarity made from Publicacion Refractario, Colectivo Lucha Revolucionaria (Revolutionary Struggle Collective) and Sin Banderas Ni Fronteras, to our brothers and sister Nataly Casanova, Juan Flores, Guillermo Durán and Enrique Guzmán, who are imprisoned in Chile, accused for attacks made by the International Conspiracy of Revenge and the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, Chile.

Nothing is uglier than ugliness repeated twice.

Chile: anarchist Enrique Guzmán is arrested and detained.

The reason: the police say that traces of his DNA were found at a distance from a target where a bomb was placed, which is included in the case for which our brothers and sister Juan Flores, Nataly Casanova, Guillermo Durán were arrested, 6 months ago.

The real reason: Guzmán was a friend of the three imprisoned comrades, who did not abandon them for a moment in the difficult conditions of captivity. He was the friend who despised police looks and checks and visited them often in prison. He was the friend who, with his communication, canceled their exile and loneliness, in the land of the locked up people.

He is the friend who proves that real friends do not flinch, but share both the laughter of joys and the steep hills of sorrows…

The battle, however, is uneven. Anyone who does not comply or does not discipline himself within the limits of the permissible morality of the silent people who bow their heads, is driven to the place of exile, in the cold prison cells. Read the rest of this entry »

PDF: About the case of Juan Flores, Nataly Casanova, Guillermo Duran and Enrique Guzmán – Comrades on hunger strike ($hile)

May 4th, 2015

PDF: About the case of Juan Flores, Nataly Casanova, Guillermo Duran and Enrique Guzmán

No aggression without response

Arrested since September 18th 2014, comrades Juan Flores, Nataly Casanova and Guillermo Duran are accused of involvement in bomb attacks which occurred on July 13th, claimed by International Conspiracy of Revenge, and September 8th 2014, claimed by Conspiracy of Cells of Fire (Chile). They deny charges but claim themselves as anarchists.

On April 6th 2015, Enrique Guzman was arrested, a solidarious comrade and friend who visited the comrades in prison.

On April 14th 2015, the four comrades started a hunger strike demanding:

– the release of comrade Enrique Guzmán.
– the immediate transfer of compañera Nataly Casanova from solitary confinement to a wing/tower where she will be able to have contact/relationship with other inmates and more hours in the yard.
– the end to harassment of their close friends and family.
– the end of assaults and disciplinary sanctions towards Juan and Nataly;
– end to DNA-based prosecutions.

This brochure includes texts by the comrades, about harassment against them and their close friends and family. Also, we include a solidarity call that we have published with other groups. Most of the text was translated to English by the comrades of Act for Freedom!

Urgent news – Anarchist hunger striker Spyros Mandylas is in danger of dying (Greece)

May 4th, 2015

NEW“Everything for freedom” : End of Spyros Mandylas’ hunger strike.

UPDATE54th day of hungerstrike.

Inter Arma received and translated:

HUNGER STRIKER SPYROS MANDYLAS IN DANGER OF DYING

According to the doctor monitoring the health of the hunger striker Spyros Mandylas, if the total loss of his weight, which has reached 25%, reaches 28% then he will lose his life.

It should be stressed out once again that the life of our comrade is in immediate danger and that the full weight of responsibility in case of any permanent damage or loss will fall on his 39 co-defendants, the judges Lygas, Panagiotakopoulou, Stergoudi, Zografos who trialed him without being present and sentenced him to seven years of imprisonment with a 5,000 euros bail. The judge who will review his demand of not paying the bail on Monday 4/5, will also be responsible if he rejects it, since in this case the comrade will continue his hunger strike and won’t accept the payment of the bail to be made by comrades and friends.

Antinuclear resistance in Pyhäjoki – Join the struggle! (Finland)

May 3rd, 2015

The Fennovoima Energy Company is starting to construct a nuclear power
plant in Pyhäjoki, a nice, quiet and small village in the northwest of
Finland.

During the second half of April, Fennovoima cut 95 hectares of very
special coastal forest at the construction area. They didn’t wait for a
month for the legal permission to clear cut the landscape. Instead,
Fennovoima started destroying the forest on Wednesday, the 15 of April.
The forest was a home for several rare birds and other species. Nests of
endangered white-backed woodpeckers (Dendrocopos leucotos) were
destroyed, a very rare white tale eagle got disturbed as dozens of
machines demolished it´s neighborhood.

Bristol: UPDATED – Fracking whore MP Charlotte Leslie gets a home visit – Fuck the Tories (UK)

May 2nd, 2015

Vandals with conscience have targeted Tory parliamentary candidate Charlotte Leslie’s family home, scratching cars and spray painting ‘Tory Scum’ and ‘Media Whore’ on them. The ignorant and brainless bimbo ‘politician’ Leslie, known for wet T-shirt contests and ice-bucket challenges, thought she could lead a media and police repression campaign against anarchists in the Bristol and South-West area, but is now scared and frightened of what will happen to her family. Good. After destroying the homes and working lives of millions of people and their families, it’s pay back time for the Conservative party. No tears here.

Charlotte whined : “This is very upsetting. When my office was vandalised – and it was criminal and it was wrong – but that was my public office. This is very different. This is my personal home, my parents’ home. It was definitely premeditated. Somebody has targeted my family and their home. It’s wrong. The ‘media whore’ is something which has been levelled at me many times, and it’s obvious these people want to demoralise and destabilise my operations. It will take a while to get up and running again, but we will.”

The attack comes less than a week before the British regime’s fake elections next Thursday.

“I’m now concerned about the safety of my parents. I know I won’t be intimidated by this, but they have gone for my family.”

Fuck the Elections – Fuck the Tories

-

Here’s the communique:

Do we really need to give reasons why we chose to damage the property of a Tory
councillor? Have a look at the last five years of Tory rule and endless, savage
attacks on our lives and you’ll find enough. Wealthy, overprivileged Charlotte
Leslie and her kind represent all that we detest. With friends in high places and a
big business budget to buy all the power and influence she needs, she shamelessly
does all she can to make life even easier for the rich and even harder for the rest
of us.

So, we thought we’d share a bit of the stress back that’s been imposed on us and
make life a bit more difficult for this champion of the rich. A country house in
Easter Compton? Delightful! Four cars for one household? That will do nicely!

Canvassing cars were our canvas as we scratched and spraypainted, leaving “Media
hungry Tory scum” and a big circled A as a contribution to her self obsessed
publicity election drive. Tires were punctured to put a brake on the race further to
the right. Next up was bit of drilling for domestic heating fuel and an oil spill
all over the well kept garden. Because fracking is a dirty business and those who
support such an industry should really think about ecological consequences. And also
because people should not be forced by government’s poverty policies to choose
between having heating or food.

People like Charlotte Leslie declare moral outrage at such “vandalism” and denounce
as unfair attacking her home. But compare the damage caused by this action to the
extent of the damage to people’s homes and lives caused by such greedy, lying
politicians every day. You’ll see there is no comparison. What is really shocking is
that actions like this don’t happen more…

The iron lady that the police’s Operation Rhone couldn’t protect, the one supporter
they should have taken care of. Are they serious? Or a laughing stock? They need to
try harder. This was surely too close for comfort. So where’s next?

Text by Nikos Maziotis, member of Revolutionary Struggle for the event organized by the International Red Help for the 1st of May (Greece, Switzerland)

May 1st, 2015

The events of May 1886 that took place in Chicago are a turning point in the history of the revolutionary labor movement.

It was not only the fight of the workers to reduce working hours to eight hours daily that featured in this fight and led to the global fight of the proletariat for an 8 hour work day, but it was also a response of the workers to a crackdown by the bosses, and the murder of workers at the McCormick factory. This response was “Workers in arms” which called for a reaction of the working class to the killings of the bosses. It was the armed reaction of the workers when police ordered the dissolution of the Hay Market Square protest that was called against the killings of the strikers at the McCormick factory. The armed tradition of the working class and revolutionary movement was at that time closely related to unionism and the struggle for an 8 hour work day, better working conditions, wage increases, social security. And all this was seen to some extent, as a stage on the way to the abolition of the capitalist system.

Such struggles, which were inspired by the events of May 1886 in Chicago erupted in many countries over the next few years in France, in Italy, Spain, Russia, Mexico, Argentina and they were characterized by the use of armed violence on the part of workers.

Unfortunately a large part of the labor movement adopted an approach that considered armed practices as “provocation” and practices of “individual terrorism” that harm the labor movement and were therefore condemnable. There is the view, for example, that the events of the Hay Market Square with the throwing of a bomb and the armed scuffle against the police that followed were an intentional provocation to justify the murder of several of the assembled workers, but also the conviction and execution by hanging of the organizers of the Hay Market Square protest. ‘Woolf Report: 25 Years On & Nothing Has Changed’ – An article by John Bowden about the prison system’s latest attempt to obstruct his move to an open prison (UK)

May 1st, 2015

In April this year, the 25th anniversary of the Strangeways prison uprising, Lord Justice Woolf, who led the inquiry into the uprising, claimed that conditions in most British jails were now even worse than they had been before Strangeways erupted in 1990.

The treatment of those prisoners confined to usually overcrowded local remand and post-sentence jails (of which Strangeways was and is one), where the great bulk of the prison population are held, has always been significantly worse than the treatment of prisoners in more long-term establishments where the potential for collective unrest has always been traditionally greater.

Prison staff employed in over crowded local jails argue that the transient and difficult to control and manage population of such institutions, coupled with severe cut-backs in staffing levels, make all but the most basic functions of control and containment extremely difficult if not impossible. The operational reality of such an argument finds expression in virtual lock-down regimes and a wholesale warehousing of prisoners, as well as an overtly repressive response to any perceived potential loss or compromise of total control, all ingredients of what caused the Strangeways prison uprising in 1990.

Greenock prison near Glasgow is an archetypal local jail; antiquated Victorian architecture and conditions, and an attitude and behaviour amongst some staff that is often openly contemptuous of prisoners, underpinned by a relationship of power that renders prisoners always vulnerable to abuse.
