In the last few years, we have seen how the escalation of repression has intensified around the libertarian and anarchist movement through the strategies used here in Mexico City: Setting very high bond amounts, and applying the same package of charges, always aggravated, without giving much importance to the specific situation, but rather to what the State dictates.
Persecution and finger-pointing in the media as a basic element of their set-up: Noting the names of groups of people or spaces (whether they exist or not), making up relationships that really don’t exist, comparing everyone and everything from a vertical point of view, trying fit us into a schematic of leadership. Of course, this demonstrates a deep ignorance and/or contempt for anarchist ideas, which have nothing to do with this kind of hierarchical logic.

A few days fulfilled a year to the arrest of Fernando Barcenas Castillo after a march against the rising of the price of metro tickets, where the Christmas tree owned by the Coca-Cola multinational was burned. Today the sentence was dictated to the comrade- 5 years, 9 months for the crime of attacks against the public peace, so he misses bail.
At a time when the Mexican government is intensifying its repressive methods, certainly the sentence to Fernando is looking to send a message to inhibit the growing signs of discontent. That is why it is important to continue fighting for the freedom of our imprisoned comrades, do not let them go into oblivion.
Continue demonstrating that solidarity is more than a written word.
Freedom to Fernando Barcenas !
Solidarity with Carlos, Amelie and Fallon !
Freedom to Abraham and Luis Fernando !

The comrades are well, without complications or physical damage. They will soon make the reasons and motives for ending the strike public.
For now this is all the information we have.
Freedom for all! Down with the prison walls!

via cna mexico:
To free media
To the peoples of the world
To all those oppressed
Driven by a sense of rebellion and a declared rejection and true repudiation of all control mechanisms, including the prison system, we, anarchist and libertarian individuals, in our condition as prisoners abducted by the Mexican government, have decided to exercise one of the few tools of struggle which we can assert from inside prison: the hunger strike. From today, October 1st, a year after the arrests on October 2, 2013, 10 months of the kidnapping of Fernando Barcenas and 9 months after the detention of Amelie, Carlos and Fallon.
For us the hunger strike is not synonymous with weakness, much less do we seek to fall into a position of victimization; however, we assume it as an alternative of fighting that we consider conducive in a logic of protest and disobedience to the imprisonment of our bodies and the humiliation, isolation and frustration it means to be held in these centers of terror. We opted to take action rather than accept prison as “normal”.
The State seeks to train docile and servile citizens to maintain their established “social order” and thus be able to support the structure of capitalist production only beneficial to the ruling class. Prisons have a key role in shaping these good citizens. It is to the bourgeois society that the prison actually seeks to readjust. (more…)

From ABC Mexico:
The prison, like the police, is a fact necessary to the maintenance of social peace. It is the domination and control that allow this filthy world to be maintained. Jail means fear, uncertainty, shame, loneliness and isolation. Society trains individuals to be good citizens. My strength as an individual takes root in fear rejection could be a limit on my life. Of course, I have fear, like everybody, of many things, but my desire for freedom are larger. Fear is often built and can be destroyed when confronted. What matters is to look beyond, to exceed the limits, boundaries, beyond the walls, mountains, rivers and oceans.
Solidarity with our imprisoned comrades must be a constant and permanent activity without waiting dates marked on the calendar. However, it is also important to carry out solidarity activities in a coordinated manner between different groups. In that sense it was convened to conduct solidarity actions from 23 to 30 August, not with the idea of centralizing solidarity, but rather to strengthen ties and collaborations internationally.
In Mexico City the call was well received among anarchist groups and individuals. Forums, events in public places, leafleting, radio transmission, an anti-prison critical-mass, placing banners. This is a brief chronicle. (more…)

Zine about anarchist prisioners in Mexico from CNA Mexico
Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014
Various weeks have passed since the last update on the case of the anarchists arrested on the 5th of January. A variety of events have occurred since then, here is an actualisation.
The General Prosecutor of the Republic was not able to find enough elements to maintain the charges of Terrorism and Organized Crime against the three, and they were charged with the accusations of Damages and Attack on the Public Peace. Their process is in the stage of presenting evidence and the first court dates are set for the 2nd and 3rd of April. (more…)

On January 20th, 2014 our comrade Mario Lopez was arrested while he appeared in court, as he does every week, to sign in as part of the conditions imposed for his release on bail. At first he was informed that the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic was demanding his presence in order to ask him questions about an ongoing investigation. After being questioned he was notified that he would be arrested for a warrant for Violation of Federal Law of Firearms and Explosives for the events of June 27, 2012 (when Mario was first imprisoned: http://en.contrainfo.espiv.net/2012/07/01/mexico-recent-information-about-the-anarchist-comrade-mario-lopez-hernandez/) [+ see here.].
He was transferred to the Eastern Penitentiary in Mexico City. At this time this is all the information we have.
Mario’s arrest takes place within the context of a witch-hunt of anarchists by the Mexican government. We have little doubt that our comrade, now in jail, will face more accusations by the state in an attempt to frame him. Persecution against anarchism continues, and for that reason it’s more important than ever to strengthen our solidarity.
Free Mario Lopez!
Free all anarchist prisoners!
Neither guilty, nor innocent!

Informal Days: International Anarchist Symposium – Comrade Gustavo Rodríguez disappeared and deported (Mexico)
Wednesday, January 1st, 2014
Compañerxs, we´ll try to be as brief but objective as possible.
Since the evening of the 29th of December – the last day of the Informal Days: International Anarchist Symposium – up until today, the anarchist compañero Gustavo Rodríguez Romero has disappeared.
On the evening of the 29th, at approximately 7:30pm, Gustavo left the Che Guevara Auditorium alone headed in the direction of the Copilco metro station in order to later meet up with his partner and begin their return trip home. This never happened as Gustavo never arrived.
Five minutes after Gustavo left the auditorium, a compañera who was still at the event received a phone call from Gustavo, however only strange noise were heard, and after a few seconds the call dropped out. Given the strange call, the compañera called back on repeated occasions but without answer, and eventually assumed that later he would be in contact as had been arranged earlier. (more…)

On December 29th, at about 1am, our comrade Mario López ‘Tripa’ hit the streets again. With the help of solidarians, Mario paid the bail that was set for his release, so he will now await trial in ‘freedom’.
Thanks so much to all those who, one way or another, have supported this struggle. We still need to take many comrades out of prisons. Freedom for Braulio Duran, who is remanded in León!
Down with the walls of prisons!
Strength to all comrades who are imprisoned or on the run!
LONG LIVE ANARCHY!

From Liberacion Total:
30 August 2012
The first trial was not held and was adjourned. In addition, comrade Mario “Tripa” Lopez (“The Gut”) was already removed from the “Health Section” in spite of the fact that his injuries are still not healed. During the past week, there were moves by the “Tripa” to hold an initial hearing of the trial. However, due to the fact that the judge did not issue the corresponding summons, the first hearing was not carried out and will be reprogrammed. In those days, various comrades were given dates to come to the court, to accompany Mario, to be able to see him and send greetings to him across from behind the glass. (more…)
Letter from compañero Mario Antonio López Hernández + Joint communiqué from anarchist collectives and organizations in solidarity (Mexico)

Hello dear comrades, as you already will know (inside and outside of Mexico) I find myself hospitalized due to injuries to my shin, leg, and right arm. At the moment I’m “ok” given the situation, I am concerned about my health and am also concerned about several things which I’ll expand upon in a few points.
First the fact of writing now and not later. Well, this is easy because physically I have the ability to do so and because in the future when they charge or sentence me the control will be greater and communication will be more difficult. (more…)
