Statement of Revolutionary Struggle member Nikos Maziotis about the U.S. State Department list of international “terrorists” (Greece)

Thursday, April 23rd, 2015

From ContraInfo:

In 2009, the anarchist urban guerrilla group Revolutionary Struggle (Epanastatikos Agonas) was designated a “foreign terrorist organization” by the U.S. Department of State, in the aftermath of a rocket propelled grenade attack against the U.S. Embassy in Athens in January 2007.

On April 21, 2015, the State Department issued “terrorist designation” against one of the members of Revolutionary Struggle, anarchist prisoner Nikos Maziotis. The next day, the comrade issued the following statement in response:

“Whoever is not with us is against us”
– from a speech of U.S. President George W. Bush after September 11, 2001

“We are not with you, we are against you”
– from a statement of Nikos Maziotis to the special court in Koridallos prisons on June 11, 2012 regarding the Revolutionary Struggle attack on the U.S. Embassy

The State Department admittedly did me great honor by including me in the list of international “terrorists”. This is the second time that the planetary killers honor me as a Revolutionary Struggle member, since they had placed a one-million-dollar bounty on me along with other members of the organization after the Revolutionary Struggle attack against the U.S. Embassy in Athens in January 2007. About the anti-fascist struggle after Maidan (Ukraine)

Monday, April 20th, 2015

This is a translation of a brochure written by 2 anti-authoritarian communist groups, Vida (Rivet) and Proletconnect about the anti-fascist struggle in Ukraine after the Maidan events. Events unfold on very high speed and although this brochure discusses the Ukrainian reality until June 2014, to the opinion of the translator it offers insight on the background of the conflict and the international geopolitical significance of these events. It offers a different interpretation compared to western media and even parts of the western left.

In USSR times…

“…Its (Kiev’s) buildings are famous all over Russia. It was a center of religion. And now it is a semi-ruin. Here the Germans showed what they could do. Every public building, every library, every theater, even the permanent circus, destroyed, not with gunfire, not through fighting, but with fire and dynamite. Its university is burned and tumbled, its schools in ruins. This was not fighting, this was the crazy destruction of every cultural facility the city had, and nearly every beautiful building that had been put up during a thousand years. Here German civilization did its work, and one of the few justices in the world is that German prisoners are helping clean up the mess that they made.

War against ISIS/Daesh: YPG have liberated the strategic target of Tel Hamis plus many other villages – Revenge for the fallen heroes – Death to the Islamic-fascists (Kurdistan)

Saturday, February 28th, 2015

The heroic fighters of YPG, YPJ and Lions of Rojava are taking the fight to the murdering fanatics of Daesh. Many of the Daesh members have been slaughtered in droves or they are running away. Our fighters consolidated their territorial control and will stop until the enemy is defeated. Breaking reports indicate that Tel Hamis has fallen from Daesh hands, as the fighters liberated the area and killed 211 Daesh members, capturing 8 alive. Then the cowardly scum of Daesh headed for Til Temir and committed a massacre against the Assyrian people there. Here is a report from before the victory, followed by a rundown of events:

YPG Command Spokesman Rêdur Xelil and YPJ Commander Nesrin Abdullah who provided information to reporters about the operation in Til Hemis going on for 6 days said that YPG/YPJ forces have surrounded Til Hemis from three fronts while only the Til Berak area in the western side remained under ISIS control.

Remarking that fierce clashes have been taking place in the region for the past six days, Rêdur Xelil said Arab civilians also participated in the operation actively.

Xelil said the town of Til Hemis was the largest ISIS headquarters in Cizîrê Canton, adding: “ISIS constituted a threat against the Cizîrê region. In addition, a side of Til Hemis neighbors Sinjar, because of which Sinjar also faced a threat. Gangs were also using Til Hemis as a front of theirs from Mosul. They have caused great damage to the people living here.”

Xelil added that the operation which was launched to eliminate this threat was also being supported by an artillery unit of the Peshmerga forces from the South Kurdistan side of the border. (more…)

Anti Fascist Action Stockholm: Travel Report From Rojava (Kurdistan)

Wednesday, February 18th, 2015

Via Bc9AcE:

When we write this it is a little over a week since the Kobanê Canton’s defense forces, YPG and YPJ, declared victory in Kobanê.

The victory means a lot for the Kurds. The city’s resistance has become a symbol in the resistance against ISIS, whom the Kurds call Daesh. Daesh is an abbreviation of ISIS but is similar to the Arabic ”daes” which means to trample or crush. It is used in this context derogatorily of ISIS and removes ISIS’ right to name themselves. The fascists of ISIS have banned the word in the areas they control and they take it so seriously that those that use it are threatened with having their tongues cut out.

Many have asked themselves how the Kurds have been able to beat back Daesh. The fight against Daesh has been undertaken with substandard military equipment. Many quickly point out that YPG/YPJ have had assistance from an international coalition that has been performing airstrikes against Daesh. That is in itself not a reasonable explanation to how the victory was achieved in Kobanê as the bombing did not live up to the expectations. When the bombing began in October many thought the victory was close but it took another near four months before victory could be declared. The answer for the question how the Kurds could beat Daesh in Kobanê must be sought elsewhere. (more…)

War against ISIS/Daesh: Defeat in Kobanê is the beginning of the end for ISIS (Kurdistan)

Tuesday, January 27th, 2015

Never forgetting the fallen warriors who fell in battle fighting for freedom, we celebrate this victory over the forces of militant Islam and their geo-political backers. Rid the world of their influence – Continue the struggle against ISIS/Daesh – Wipe them out.

ROJAVA- The city of Kobanê in Rojava (West Kurdistan) was today (Jan 26) completely liberated from Daesh (ISIS) terrorists.

For 134 days our forces have expressed a heroic resistance against Daesh terrorism, and did not let the hopes of our people and all the humanity to fail. Our forces fulfilled the promise of victory, this success is a victory for the Rojava Revolution, a victory for a democratic Syria, a victory for humanity, and a victory for freedom against Daesh barbarism and brutality.

For 134 days, our fighters of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) / Women’s Defense Units (YPJ), men and women of Kurdistan, lovers of freedom from four parts of Kurdistan and other countries, came to a heavy battle, and conducted a great resistance against Daesh’s terrorism. Many of our combatants, young men and women, were martyred during this resistance, but at the end it was the pure spirit of them which prevailed. The People’s Defense Units once again proved that no one could ever conquest the Rojava Revolution, it proved again that it is the authentic force to defend the Kurdish people and other peoples of this region.

The battle for Kobanê was not only a fight between the YPG and Daesh. It was a battle between humanity and barbarity, a battle between freedom and tyranny, it was a battle between all human values and the enemies of humanity. It was the truth, the spirit of freedom, it was the free will of the people and the will of humanity that ultimately succeeded in Kobanê. (more…)
