Update: Gabriel Pombo da Silva still in prison isolation unit of A Lama prison (Spain)

Tuesday, July 29th, 2014

This week anarchist fighter held hostage by the Spanish State Gabriel Pombo da Silva, was able to get out some information from the prison he’s held in. Gabriel informed that he’s still in A Lama prison and was told that the prison director prolonged his isolation for other month. So it is not known when the compa will be transferred to Topas prison in Salamanca.

Previously it was reported that a new precedent had been achieved in the case of Gabriel (his transfer from the shit conditions in A Lama), but it’s not the whole truth about the matter, because we only will know what’s happening, when the prison transfer really happens and partial info a lot of time can be false.

We rectify this information by publishing this clarification and explaining that for the moment Gabriel is still in A Lama and still in isolation. We are waiting for more news and when the facts are known for sure (with all the full infos), a text will be written and published.

Solidarity with Gabriel – Continue the antagonism!

Update about anarchist comrade hostage Gabriel Pombo da Silva (Spain)

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014

News about Gabriel:

Yesterday (Sunday 20 July) was the last day in isolation for Gabriel (after one month).

The prison administration gave him the decision they took, to put him into the second degree (“normal” detention) but to transfer him to another jail : Topas (Salamanca).

Until now he doesn’t know when exactly, but it will probably succeed in some days. Gabriel was relieved to be leaving A Lama prison, but of course he is waiting to see how it will be in the other jail. Hopefully there will be some changes, thank you for the faxes.

There will be more news and information about Gabriel’s new address soon.

Update on the case against Mónica and Francisco (Spain)

Thursday, July 10th, 2014

from refractario via waronsociety:

This Friday, July 4, a ruling was made public which confirmed that Mónica Caballero and Francisco Solar will be prosecuted for terrorism. From the judge, the cops, and the press, which are working hand in hand in this case, came the assertion that they “are linked to the FAI/FRI, an international terrorist organization ‘created from insurrectionary anarchist ideology’”.

Clearly the use of these acronyms, despite having nothing to do with the claim of the attack they are accused of, is being used to justify their prosecution as terrorists, as the EU has already identified these acronyms within their list of terrorist organizations. (more…)

Call for initiative in solidarity with anarchist comrade Gabriel Pombo Da Silva (Spain)

Monday, June 30th, 2014

From informa-azione.info – Translated by act for freedom now

Comrade Gabriel Pombo Da Silva is being held in temporary solitary confinement in the prison of A Lama since 17th June because he refused to be transferred to a maximum security module with all the restrictions involved, and because he refused to share his cell with another prisoner, something that they’ll try to impose on him once again. We’re waiting for what is going to happen…

The case is already going through judicial procedures, but we think it is important to show that our comrade is not alone, by demanding (via fax, telephone, mail, according to the circumstances) the end of all harassment inflicted on Gabriel by the prison administration. (more…)

Update on anarchist comrade Gabriel Pombo da Silva (Spain)

Saturday, June 7th, 2014

via Radioazione / Actforfree:

On 13th June 13 2012, among the many police operations against anarchists, the Italian government launched a repressive attack called ‘Operation Ardire’ on a dozen comrades. There were 40 raids, 24 people under investigation and 8 comrades sent to jail. In this case they tried to give a wider form to the operation, by accusing comrades imprisoned in different European countries such as Greece, Switzerland and Germany.

As usual, the State showed its authoritarian face against its sworn enemies, and fabricated roles of leaders, agents and organizers within yet another ‘terrorist association’, when in fact there were affinities, letter exchanges with prisoners, struggles and claims.

So it happened that Gabriel Pombo da Silva and Marco Camenisch, imprisoned for many years, ended up in this investigation following an international hunger strike carried out in December 2009; they were named as ‘symbols and points of reference of a new subversive project’ of which they would be ‘ideologists and supporters.’ (more…)

Repression in Spain – A call for international solidarity

Friday, March 28th, 2014

325 receives and transmits this text from one of our comrades who is targeted by this latest repressive wave:

During the last three years Spanish society has witnessed a period of intense social protests against austerity, corruption, unemployment and so on. As in other times in history, the greater and more radicalised the protest the bigger the repression that the state organises against it. Since the general strike in September 2010, a common trend of this repression strategy is been a kind of ‘laissez faire’ in the streets but followed by ´selective´ detentions months later. Police have been literally knocking doors down of those who continuously take part in different actions and demonstrations, and consequently dozens of people have been arrested. (more…)

‘Si tocan a unas’ – About Monica & Francisco (Spain)

Friday, January 31st, 2014

It’s been two months since five people were arrested and isolated. Two of them, Mónica and Francisco are locked under the harsh Spanish FIES regime, and the rest of them are in parole (obliged to weekly signatures on judicial buildings), waiting for trial with the same accusations.

Many comrades from around told us about the apparent aura of secrecy perceived in everything related with the current situation of the compañerxs and the case as a whole and that after the mass-media circus that surrounded the detentions, something should have been said. Truth is that, as we already know, against mass-media and their advocates, little can be done in terms of countering their propaganda. We can denounce it, learn how they build their webs and see how they work hand-to-hand with the State they build a hole which they try to fill with next domestic enemy: muslims, independentists, galicians, animalists accused of opening too many cages, anarchists… (more…)

Madrid: Solidarity event for long-term anarchist prisoners (Spain)

Friday, January 10th, 2014

On Saturday, January 11th, the squatted social centre La Gatonera, located on 9, Amistad Street in the district of Carabanchel, Madrid, hosts an info event in solidarity with anarchist prisoners facing long sentences worldwide.

We meet at 18:30 and begin counter-information talk, with the aim to publicize some of the cases of brothers and sisters who are incarcerated in the democratic dungeons of different States for many years already. Following a presentation of the cases of Claudio Lavazza and Gabriel Pombo Da Silva (prisoners in the Spanish State), Marco Camenisch (imprisoned in Switzerland), Thomas Meyer-Falk (captive in Germany), Marie Mason and Eric McDavid (imprisoned in the United States), and José Miguel Sánchez Jiménez (prisoner in Chile), we freely discuss ways to strengthen and extend solidarity ties, also through structures of counter-information and factual support, with prisoners of social war. Madrid: Words of anarchist Francisco Solar from the prison of Navalcarnero, 3.12.2013 (Spain)

Thursday, December 5th, 2013

To leave no room for doubt…

As anarchists we are in constant confrontation with the State/Capital in all its manifestations; this is a no-brainer. But sometimes, especially when Power falls down on us in all its brutality, glances get confused making strides towards ambiguous and unclear positions. I believe it’s necessary to maintain consistency, and not give rise to victimizing and defeatist discourses or practices. Perhaps now we should take a step back, but always to make five steps forward on the enticing pathway of incertitude to total liberation.

A strong embrace to all anarchist prisoners, held in prison worldwide, especially to Juan Aliste, Marcelo Villarroel and José Miguel Sánchez, with whom I had the opportunity to share experiences on the inside (in Chile).

Uncertain of what will come, yet unhesitating against Power

For Anarchy…

Barcelona: Anarchist comrades Monica and Francisco arrested for Zaragoza bomb attack – Chilean ‘Caso Bombas’ resurrected (Catalunya)

Saturday, November 16th, 2013

Distributed by: The Women’s Coordinating Committee for a Free Wallmapu (Toronto)

Also read this article on multi-language anarchist website Contra-info.

On November 13th, our comrades Monica and Francisco were arrested by the repressive forces of the Spanish State, accused of the explosive bomb attack on the Pillar Basilica in Spain. A hurricane of grandiloquent statements have been unleashed unto this situation between representatives of both [Chilean and Spanish] governments; congratulations of resurrected prosecutors and recycled Interior Ministers as well. Monica and Francisco were arrested in August 2010 in the so-called Chilean Bombs Case. Both confronted the trial against them with dignity and rebellion; more than 9 months in medium and maximum pre-trial prison, rejected the prosecutor’s blackmail, carried out a 65 day hunger strike and confronted one of the longest trials [in Chilean history], and had all their charges dropped by the Court with their convictions in tact. STRUGGLE AGAINST THE TORTURES IN THE SPANISH`S JAILS

In October 2011, prisoners of several prisons of the State of Spain organized and began the Campaign Against the Torture and Ill-treatment in Prison. The offer of action arose from inside after several months of previous debate and exchange of ideas between the own prisoners and the groups of support of the exterior about what tactics and forms of fight could be carried out. The common action agreed was a symbolic day of fasting the first of every month, which is accompanied with denunciations at the Congress of the Deputies for their political responsibility in the torture and death in the prisons, and denunciations at the Courts of Penitentiary Vigilance for his its complicity as the well to a group of official institutions of prevention of the torture for his permissiveness and complicity (Ombudsman, committee of Geneva and committee of Strasbourg). Review of “Flee, man, flee. Daily of a FIES prisoner” by Xose Tarrio (Spain)

Thursday, November 14th, 2013

The story, set in Spain during the 90s, speaks about a prisoner’s life under the FIES (Prisoners’ Files in Special Pursuit) regime. Xosé Tarrío takes the chief role in this testimonial story, reporting the humiliations and tortures towards prisoners. Through escapes, he develops his protest against the prison system, the same system that imprisons him by theft when he was 17 years old. He was sentenced to two years but, for his rebel attitude, there two years transform into almost twenty years.

The best of the story is its vision of a reality, its report of an inhuman but legal system.

The bad point, is that: this story isn’t fiction.

Xosé died in prison on January 2005, by the AIDS that he contracted in jail.

This is his story.

KIDNAPPED IN STATE KILLING CENTERS IN SPAIN

First it is remarkable to say that unfortunately I’m not “a tortured prisoner” I am “another tortured prisoner” in this supposedly rule of law and democratic country. From the dungeon where I am, in an isolation bunker, where I have spent six years locked up by the only fact of rebelling against the injustices and atrocities that the executioners make us here within to the ones with courage enough to reclaim, to uprise and make them hardly earn the bread they receive from the state for mistreating, violate our rights, physically and mentally torturing, or even killing with complete impunity. Zaragoza: Responsibility claim for explosive attack at El Pilar cathedral (Spanish State)

Friday, October 4th, 2013

via contra-info:

“Besides, I have the right to leave the theatre when the comedy becomes odious to me and even to slam the door while leaving, at the risk of disturbing the tranquility of those who are satisfied with it.”
Émile Henry

Authority, a basic principle of the society, exercises its dominion through various different institutions; the Church is one of the most important because of its historical complicity with the State-Capital, taking charge of laying the foundations of and perpetuating the current state of patriarchal and heteronormative oppression. The Basilica of the Pillar, in Zaragoza, is one of the most significant temples for the holders of Power. Visited by Franco on several occasions and by Pope John Paul II in 1982 and 1984, this cathedral stands as one of the main symbols and a meeting point of fascism. The Virgin Mary of the Pillar is considered the patroness and queen of Hispanishness; flags of all the States that dominate the Latin-American territory are hung inside the temple as real trophies. The Pillar Square is situated on side of the basilica and features the Hispanishness fountain, which draws the map of Central and South-American continent, taking a great deal of pride in the extermination caused by civilization. ‘My adventures with Interpol’ by Pyotr Silaev (Spain, Finland, Russia)

Friday, August 16th, 2013

On 22 August 2012, the anti-fascist Pyotr Silaev was arrested in Grenada. He is an activist in anti-governmental protests, and the author of the book “Exodus” (published in Finland, Greece, Italy and Germany), under the pseudonym DJ Stalingrad. Pyotr took part in the infamous protests in Khimki, which for some protestors ended in jail or hospital (as it did for the renowned journalist Oleg Kashin, who was attacked with baseball bats near his home). Around 400 young people threw stones and flares at the administrative office of the town in protest against the construction of the Moscow – St. Petersburg highway through the Khimki forest – one of the few remaining green oases around Moscow. The situation bore some similarity to the recent events in Istanbul. (more…)

Postal addresses of the five anarchists arrested in Barcelona (Catalunya & Spanish State)

Monday, August 5th, 2013

On May 15, 2013 a major crackdown was launched by the Mossos D’Squadra [Catalan police] which was directed from the National Audience Court in Madrid [high prosecution panel], in which five anarchists were arrested in various parts of Catalonia. A media-orientated coup to coincide with the second anniversary of the 15-M popular protests, a mediatic lynching, where these libertarians still remain in pretrial custody. Details of the case and solidarity initiatives can be found on the support blog to the five of Barcelona. In this post we provide the addresses where letters can be sent to the companerxs. (more…)

Madrid: BBVA branch attacked with explosives (Spain)

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013

via contrainfo:

In the early morning of April 10th, we placed an explosive device in the BBVA on Paseo de Husares in Madrid. Our objective is to do the most harm possible to these temples of money, in order to destroy everything that divides and represses us.

Our hate is stronger than theirs. Struggle is necessary for the fall of the capitalist system, struggle is necessary so that our political prisoners are freed and are liberated from the torturers.

Direct action is the path! Not a step back against the State!

Solidarity with Joaquin, CNT Madrid comrade kidnapped by the police: The years of gangsterism come again (Spain)

Saturday, May 11th, 2013

Courage comrade. This fact is a sign that our movement bothers Power. It is not the first time that such kind of incidents happen. Hope Joaquin is out soon and in good conditions.

The police kidnaps our comrade Joaquin at Union local door
This afternoon several Secret Polices with nothing better to do have been harassing for no reason several colleagues asking for documentation, as they refused to be identified. For a long time the pigs have shown the swagger that comes from carrying a weapon (it is his only strength), wanting to detain the comrade without evidence, they are working for the armed force of the state. The harassment continued to the door of the Union, in 5 Tirso de Molina, Madrid. The secret agents had requested reinforcements, presenting a lot of individuals armed with batons and guns, uniformed.
