CNA: October 2015 edition of Crocerna out now (Italy)

December 1st, 2015

The new printed issue of Crocenera is now available:
croceneranarchica@autistici.org
2 euros per copy plus 1.30 euro postal fees.

EDITORIAL
After several months here we are with another printed issue, as we see our editorial project growing and becoming real: through talks during presentations all around Italy, the publication of information and actions which we keep track of punctually on the blog, contributions from outside the editors’ circle and imprisoned comrades, who are actually editors and not simple people to be supported; this is demonstrated by both the articles of historical analysis and those of analysis and critique on more recent topics and legal choices coming from the AS2 unit of the prison of Ferrara and other places of repression. Furthermore the proposal for a solidarity fund for anarchist prisoners is taking shape, as we explain in the first page of this issue.

Before going any further, we want to take the occasion offered by the Report on the policy of information on security 2014: in other words, the annual report on various ‘subversive’ threats, national as well as international, drafted by the ‘intelligence’ (with all the required commas…) and addressed to Parliament; particularly, their conviction that Crocenera was born to ‘re-unify the area surrounding revolutionary solidarity with comrades in prison, with the idea of creating a sort of openly offensive project.’ Read the rest of this entry »

Paris: COP21 – Tear gas, grenades and hundreds of arrests (France)

November 30th, 2015

n295

From The Acorn:

Tear gas and grenades were fired by French riot cops against brave activists who defied martial law in France – and more than 200 people were arrested.

Thousands took to the streets of Paris against the hypocrisy of the industrial capitalist system and its phoney COP21 climate summit.

For their pains they were kettled, intimidated, attacked and gassed by the cops. “The state of emergency is a police state, a fascist state!” they shouted in defiance of the brutal force deployed by a state which has been so busily depicting itself as a victim, rather than a perpetrator, of violence.

Activist media reported several hundred arrests, with the police taking arrestees away in buses. Read the rest of this entry »

Call for International Solidarity : Simultaneous local / global call for action on December 5th for Osman on hunger strike… (Turkey)

November 30th, 2015

We are going in front of Kandıra No.1 F Type Prison to support Osman Evcan…

Osman Evcan is resisting authority as an anarchist against speciecism for uninterrupted 23 years in state prisons. Osman Evcan supports the struggle for animal liberation as an anarchist since 2003. He has been a name for us, who voices the demand for total freedom against ecological destruction, hunger, poverty, carnage and war policies created by the state and capitalism.

Osman Evcan is recently located in Kandıra Kocaeli F-Type Prison No. 1 after being exiled to almost all the prisons in Turkey for resisting and never bending his head against systematically and continuously imposed intimidation. Osman Evcan’s and all political prisoners most basic and vital right to a healthy diet according to their preference and will is blocked by the prison management with the knowledge and instructions of the Ministry of Justice. Anarchist prisoner Tasos Theofilou deregistered from university by Ministry of Justice (Greece)

November 27th, 2015

via Insurrection News:

According to an article on OmniaTV, the Ministry of Justice did not allow anarchist-communist prisoner Tasos Theofilou to complete his education at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, despite the fact that the prison council had approved his controlled and supervised access to the internet. The ministry justified this decision based on the fact that the program Tasos was enrolled in did not lead to a bachelor degree, however the article states that the law was clearly misinterpreted.

Tasos’ sister, Maria, also remains remanded after being forcibly separated from her two children, on accusations based not on evidence but on her relation to her husband and brother, which in fact constitutes another example of penalization of prisoners’ families in an effort to punish and isolate inmates.

About the ongoing protest in Korydallos prison (Greece)

November 27th, 2015

“From today, prisoners in Korydallos begin to mobilize in order to assert a series of demands which constitute an integral part of prisoners’ struggles and the solidarity movement”.

Over a month has gone by since the 25th of October, when prisoners announced their intention to protest the current institutional framework of the justice system as well as the conditions of detention inside Greece’s largest prison facility. They initially refused to conform with midday lockdown and thus remained outside but soon escalated their struggle by causing a two hour delay in evening lockdown every night.

The Ministry of Justice has chosen to remain uninvolved so far: no representative has been sent to meet with the prisoners committee and receive the list of demands, while prison staff has repeatedly used various kinds of threats in an effort to stifle the mobilization, such as transfers to other facilities and disciplinary hearings. Letter from imprisoned vegan anarchist Osman Evcan (Turkey)

November 27th, 2015

From ABC Istanbul:

We visited vegan anarchist prisoner Osman Evcan at Kocaeli no:1 high security prison on his 16. Day of hunger strike. It is obvious that in parallel with the elections on November, the state fascism and oppression techniques have a reflection on the prisons. Because of the anarchist, vegan, libertarian ideas that Osman Evcan was fighting for, for many years; the pressure on him increases. Osman Evcan is now faced with F Type Prisons intimidation policies. His access to vegan food is blocked. And he is facing the imposition : “obey or die”. Osman Evcan continues his resistance under worsening conditions of imprisonment. And he made it clear that he is determined to continue his indefinite hunger strike with the will of total freedom. During our visit he was full of hope and told us to not to leave the arenas that organized violence is terrorizing. And he underlined that, the only way is resistance and struggle. And Osman Evcan also builds this hunger strike with a perception of psychological resistance that is against the fear and witch-hunt politics that is wanted to be created and calls us for action and to motivate ourselves for our rights arising from our existence. We shouldn’t let Osman Evcan and ourselves to be destroyed by the wheels of obedience mechanisms based on destroying all kinds of denial and objection. Let’s listen to the call of Osman Evcan who built his life on ideas based on solidarity, struggle and not harming any living being, and these ideas are bringing him to death. We want to share Osman Evcan’s letter on his reasons to start the hunger strike. Until all cages and prisons are destroyed!
ABC İstanbul

About informing public opinion about my indefinite hunger strike:

I am a prisoner in Kocaeli no:1 F type prison. Because I am vegan I don’t eat meat or any kind of animal products and I avoid using any kind of products made out of animal bodies. I chose to live this way because it’s related to animal liberation and animal rights. Read the rest of this entry »

Anonymous letter from inside prison (Germany)

November 26th, 2015

via Contra-Info:

Our friend and comrade has been in prison for over 4 months now and is currently being held in “Untersuchungshaft” in Germany. Here are a few words that reached us from the dungeons.

With midnight always in one’s heart,

And twilight in one’s cell,

We turn the crank, or tear the rope,

Each in his separate Hell,

And the silence is more awful far

Than the sound of a brazen bell.

After having been arrested and taken to prison in a small border town somewhere in South-Eastern Europe, and having had the “pleasure” of spending three weeks in its state-hotels, I now find myself in the claws of the German state. At the moment of writing I still do not know when I will be free again; no “official” accusation has been sent, no court date has been set. In theory, “U-haft” can take up to six months- depending on the wishes and whims of prosecutors and judges however this period can be extended. So far i have not been wrecking my head over it too much. The insecurity of not knowing what will happen next, or when, is one of the more difficult things in this situation, but i refuse to torture myself with questions that for now remain unanswerable. Whatever is to come, I will face it with my head held high. Read the rest of this entry »

'The Karma of Terror' By William T. Hathaway (USA)

November 24th, 2015

The Karma of Terror
By William T. Hathaway

Terrible terrorists are killing our soldiers in their countries and killing us here at home. How can we stop them?

The answer is simple: Stop terrorizing them. We started this war. What we do to others comes back on us.

In addition to centuries of crusades and imperial conquest, the past 100 years show a clear pattern of Western aggression in the region. During World War One the British persuaded the Arabs to fight on their side by promising them independence. Thousands of them died in battle for the Brits because of this promise of freedom. But after the victory Britain refused to leave; it maintained control by installing puppet kings — Faisal in Iraq and Ibn Saud in Saudi Arabia — to rule in its interest.

After World War Two the USA and Britain pressured the United Nations into confiscating Arab land to form the state of Israel, making the Arabs pay for the crimes of the Germans. They wanted Israel as a forward base for dominating the resources of the Middle East. Read the rest of this entry »

Il Buco – Informazione e Traduzione Anarchica (Italia)

November 24th, 2015

via CNA Italia:
