Melbourne: Attack against BAE Systems for Black December (Australia)

January 2nd, 2016

In the final hours of December 2015 we attacked the offices of the
defense contractor BAE Systems on River Boulevard in Richmond with paint
and sledge hammers.

BAE Systems make billions from war and their technology is responsible
for countless civilian deaths worldwide.

This action was carried out as part of Black December, a month of
anarchist direct action that was initiated by the anarchist prisoners
Nikos Romanos and Panagiotis Argirou in Greece.

We also carried out this action in solidarity with anarchist prisoners
held hostage by states worldwide and in solidarity with Indigenous
prisoners held hostage by the colonist ‘authorities’ here in so-called
‘Australia’ – all of whom are political prisoners.

Black December is everywhere!

'Refusing the Military' – Chapter 14 of the book ‘Radical Peace: People Refusing War’ by William T. Hathaway (USA)

January 2nd, 2016

Refusing the Military
Healing the Virus of Violence

Chapter 14 of the book
RADICAL PEACE: People Refusing War
By William T. Hathaway

RADICAL PEACE is a collection of reports from antiwar activists, the true stories of their efforts to change our warrior culture. A young Buddhist novice contributed this account, which we then revised together. To protect the people who have protected him, he wishes to be nameless.

Back in high school I’d been good at languages but couldn’t afford to go to college, so I joined the navy for the language training. They have a program where if you pass an aptitude test, they’ll send you to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, for an intensive course that’s worth almost a year of college credit. Plus they have an active-duty education program that offers college courses. I figured after my discharge I could finish my education on the GI Bill, and with my language skills, I could get a job in international business.

The other military branches offer programs like this too, but the navy seemed the best way to stay out of the fighting. I was hoping for a major language like Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, but they assigned me to Pashto, which is spoken in Afghanistan and Pakistan. After training, I’d be stationed on a ship in the Arabian Sea monitoring phone calls and radio broadcasts, listening for key words that might give a clue about where the Taliban were, so the planes from the aircraft carriers could bomb them. I didn’t think about this last part, though. I was focused on my future. Read the rest of this entry »

‘The Misery of Islam’ by Al-Djouhall (The Friends of Omar Khayyám Press)

January 2nd, 2016

“When I was lying in my warm, damp bed these questions did not interest me one jot and at such a time it did not matter to me whether God really existed or whether He was nothing but a personification of the mighty ones of this world, invented for the greater glory of spiritual values and the easier spoliation of the lower orders, the pattern of earthly things being transferred from the sky. All I wanted to know was whether or not I was going to live through to the morning. In face of death, I felt that religion, faith, belief were feeble, childish things of which the best that could be said was that they provided a kind of recreation for healthy, successful people…”The Blind Owl, Sadegh Hedayat.

“The essence of Islam is resignation, submission to the order of things, and the will of God, the temporal and spiritual powers are one, as we said earlier there is a similarity between Stalinism and Islam, no wonder there is trouble in the Eastern bloc countries. People have had enough of the Kremlin Big Brother telling them what to think and do. The Islamic religion is part and parcel of the State, and the same with Stalinism. In Christian countries, the bourgeoisies which rose out of the feudal dark ages could not afford such luxuries such as an all powerful Church which went hand in glove with the State. From then on the bourgeois made sure only the commodity would rule and it would be the next God to be worshipped. What we have today proves it. Nothing is sacred, only things with price tags.”

'Why Islam is worse than Nazism' by Ex-Muslim Serkan Engin (Turkey)

January 2nd, 2016

Why Islam is Worse Than Nazism

I am an atheist author and poet, who had lived as a Sunni Muslim for 23 years from birth, and I am still living in a Muslim country, Turkey. Also, my parents and all of my relatives are still Muslim. So, my critics about Islam can be easily consider this an inside view.

I know that the title of this essay seems assertive, but I will explain the rightness of this title step-by-step in this essay.

First of all, you have to learn about Islam that if you are an “outsider”, a non-Muslim, for example, a Christian, an atheist, a Buddhist, a Jew or whatever else, all Muslims have the “right” of killing and raping you, grabbing all your properties, your country, land, money and anything else. They take this “right” from the book of their belief, the Quran. In other words, they take this “right” from their belief’s core, the theology of Islam. Read the rest of this entry »

A-Radio: The occupied refugee center Notara26 in Athens (Greece)

January 2nd, 2016

Dear all,

As Anarchist Radio Berlin we had the opportunity of making an interview
with two activists of the occupied and self-organized refugee center
Notara26 in Athens, Greece. The comrades tell us about the origins and
ideas of their center as well as of the anarchist influence and
importance of the Exarchia neighbourhood. They also comment on the topic
of governmental (Syriza) policies and the difference of their work to
such policies. And they also mention problems encountered in this project.

Desde E.T.P: Algunas Palabras de Instinto Salvaje

January 2nd, 2016

Read the rest of this entry »

Letter by CCF member Panagiotis Argirou on the occasion of the nearing end of the Phoenix Project trial (Greece)

December 30th, 2015

TO ALL COMRADES WHOSE ACTS HAVE GIVEN ME MOMENTS OF FREEDOM

“Only in those moments when our tension for freedom encounters with praxis do we really manage to live anarchy, here and now. Unfortunately the dream we carry in our hearts is too great to avoid the risk of finding ourselves up against the monstrous wall of authority raised in defense of the state and capital. When we really put our life at stake, inevitably we end up confronting the hardness that’s inherent in the struggle: death and prison.”
Nicola Gai; anarchist comrade held prisoner in Italy, who has assumed responsibility for his participation in the attack claimed by Olga Cell of FAI-FRI (the shooting of Roberto Adinolfi, the chief executive of Ansaldo Nucleare)

Shortly before the end of the trial of the 4th consecutive case against the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, and against me personally as an anarchist who has assumed responsibility for his participation in the CCF, I’d like to say some things not to the court, but rather to all comrades whose action gave impetus and substance to the Phoenix Project.

For obvious reasons, all imprisoned members of the CCF saluted the comrades of Sole–Baleno Cell (a cell of sympraxis between Conspiracy of Cells of Fire and Consciousness Gangs), a gesture which initially cost us our prosecution for incitement [in Greek, moral instigation] to 4 Acts of the Phoenix Project: explosive attack on personal vehicle of the Koridallos prison director in Athens, explosive attack on personal vehicle of a chief warden serving at Nafplion prison, incendiary attack on a hotel unit in Indonesia, and parcel-bomb mailing to a former commander of the antiterrorist police unit in Athens.

The competent authorities realised in hindsight that the accusation of inciting the attack in Indonesia, claimed by Anger Unit/International Conspiracy for Revenge FAI/IRF, would never stand up in court, so the particular charges were dropped even before the stage of court proceedings.

However, as far as the other attacks are concerned, I am offended by the incitement charges brought against me, because as an anarchist I abhor hierarchical relationships of any level; on the other hand, these charges help me understand that domination feels threatened when anarchist guerillas, even from a position of captivity, seek to make their mark and connect with the struggle outside the prison walls by saluting the hostilities waged by their comrades. Domination feels threatened when it realises that the condition of incarceration is not nearly enough to crush the combative energy of anarchist prisoners. This alone is enough for entire indictments for incitement to attacks to be drafted. In no case, however, is it enough to break my morale and my will to connect myself with all comrades holding a combative position. Read the rest of this entry »

Istanbul: Sabiha Gökçen airport attacked with mortars by Kurdistan Freedom Falcons – TAK (Turkey)

December 30th, 2015

On the 23rd December the militant group TAK – Kurdistan Freedom Falcons carried out a mortar attack against the second biggest international airport in Istanbul. The blast took place where airplanes were parked, wounding two cleaning staff on a nearby budget carrier Pegasus plane. Here is an extract from the claim of responsibility:

“Erdoğan and the AKP dictatorship is leading a war to wipe out people in Kurdistan alongside a coalition with ISIS as they force civilians to leave their cities by turning these places into uninhabitable locations. People are being forced to migrate and are being relocated. The Kurdish people are providing the biggest answer to the fascist attacks through their brave resistance.”

“This action has been done in response to the fascist attacks that have turned Kurdish cities into ruins. As a result of this action, five airplanes have been impacted severely while serious damage has occurred to the airport. AKP’s special media is trying to distort the results of the action consciously in an attempt to show the world that their airspace is safe. The attack which has been carried out with mortar shells is also the start of a new period of action. The Erdogan-AKP fascist dictatorship and their collaborators that has no place within moral norms of war will not live comfortably in their own cities from now.”

“From now onwards, we (TAK) will not be responsible for the safety of international airline companies that are to arrive in Turkey and foreign tourists that are not Turkish citizens. We as TAK will continue to give the necessary response to the immoral attacks against the Kurdish people that is being developed by the fascist Erdoğan-AKP dictatorship.”

Call for international solidarity against the massacre of the Kurdish population by the Turkish state

December 30th, 2015

From the Committee of Diplomacy – Yekitiya Star:

Yekitiya Star, the women`s organization in Rojava (West-Kurdistan, North-Syria) which aims to build a democratic, ecological society which is based on the principle of freedom of gender calls for international solidarity with the Kurdish population who are in a situation of civil war and face a situation of massacre by the Turkish authorities.

The Kurdish people in Rojava built up a democratic, autonomous self-government as an answer to the atrocities of the BAAZ- Regime and faced atrocious attacks of ISIS and the regime, but managed to build up and defend this alternative. The Kurdish population in Turkey (North-Kurdistan) after seeing this experience and after been confronted by a factual state of war by the Turkish state have announced self-rule in response to the AKP government that denies the presence of a Kurdish question and attacks their struggle for freedom, noting that the resolution of democratic autonomy is the answer of Kurdish people against the Turkish state’s lack of solution. It is the answer against the state’s repression and aggravated isolation imposed on Abdullah Ocalan. As a reaction on the calling of democratic autonomy, the Turkish authorities answered with a situation of civil war. It put the cities in the Kurdish region in Turkey under siege and attacks the cities and the civil population everyday with tanks and other heavy weapons. In this past month alone, severe clashes took place in many Kurdish cities such as Silopi, Lice, Nuseybin, Şemdinli, Silvan, Yüksekova, Amed, Kerboran and Cizre, where state forces have targeted the civilian population. Hundreds of civilians especially women, children and young people have been killed. The cities are left in a situation without water, electricity and telephone. Teachers have been put on leave, schools have been closed. More as 200.000 persons out of this region have fled.

The Turkish state now resorts to a displacement policy which forms the basis of attacks in Sur and other Kurdish areas. The policy of evacuation of villages during the 90’s is now being put into practice in cities. This is an emigration assault aiming a cultural genocide, a method executed by perpetrators of massacres throughout history. The Turkish state is conducting an onslaught against the existence of the Kurdish people by forcing them to emigration.

At the same time the Turkish state attacks democratic forces and independent media. It does everything to distort the truth. At the same the European states don`t raise their voices, let Turkey without a complaint and with their support, massacre hundreds of civilians. This is not a war of the Turkish state against the PKK, it is a war against the Kurdish people who strive for democracy, freedom, plurality and the freedom of women and the Turkish state which want to build up a nationalistic, Sunnite, Islamic, patriarchal state. This is a war especially against women.

In this way, we call especially women and women`s organizations and all democrats to support the people in North-Kurdistan in their legitimate struggle. Nobody should look away in the killing of hundreds of civilians. The war in Kurdistan and in Syria has long been an international war. Every force is playing a part, for their own interests.

We call the people, especially women not to look anyway any longer, take stances and support. Only with support of the people and with coming out of the truth, a real peace in Kurdistan is possible. The democratic autonomous administrations in Rojava and North-Kurdistan are a hope for peace, democracy and freedom of women in the Middle-East.

Black December: ING Bank target of anarchist action in Den Haag (Netherlands)

December 25th, 2015

In the days running up to Christmas an ING bank in Den Haag (Netherlands) was targeted by anarchists. ATM machines were sabotaged and a slogan referring to Black December was left on the facade. The banks are a cornerstone of this suffocating capitalist and repressive society. This is why we choose to attack these symbols of domination. While people are caught up in the consumerist madness of christmas we wanted to cause a disturbance of this consumerist peace. We don’t want to passively wait while this world is suffering. Crush the capitalist system. We want the anarchist offensive.

The action is in response to the call-out for a ‘Black December’ by anarchists Nikos Romanos and Panayiotis Argyros who are currently held captive by the Greek state. …

In loving solidarity to all the imprisoned anarchists around the world.

For a Black December! For the anarchist offensive!

"I do not regret anything…" : Political declaration of Christos Tsakalos for the third CCF trial (Greece)

December 25th, 2015

On Thursday, November 5th, I’m asked to apologize to the first court conducted for 2.5 years now against the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire . It is the trial for the 250 attacks of the organization.

In a courtroom inside the prison, full of judges, cameras, cops, secret police, anti-terror police, a few relatives and even fewer friends and comrades, they judge the actions of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire.

But how to fit in a room of a few square meters our actions that tried to challenge the wise and obedient history of our time…

An action which interrupted the eternal sleep of quiet ’peaceful’ people for several nights, agitated through the explosion of the enslaved silences of the metropolis and with our proclamations denied the rules of a life where the bosses’ violence is always present and we are constantly absent…

Through our attacks, we wanted to smash the tyranny of a brutal reality. We intend to overturn the balance of terror of a mechanically routine life. We tried to cancel the compromise with the death of caused by the wage slavery, the technological control, the boredom and empty relationships.

We wanted to make war with the “peace” of the banks, the judges, the rich, the cops, the fascists, the journalists, the politicians, but also with the “peaceful” citizens who instead of crying out, and being enraged and act, they’re hiding in resignation and grow old along with their furniture … These “peaceful” and law-abiding citizens are the most responsible of all, because through their “quietness” they allow ugliness to rule our lives. Contribution by 'Sin Banderas, Ni Fronteras' for Black December (Chile)

December 25th, 2015

FROM CHILE, FROM BLACK ANARCHY, SHARING SOME EXPERIENCES.

Since the democratic state dismantled and wiped out the leftist armed
struggle organizations which continued operating once the dictatorship
ended in the early 90s, there have been the ideas and practices of
horizontality and direct action from revolutionary autonomous
environments and related to anarchy – and also the Mapuche resistance,
which have positioned themselves as protagonists of radical struggle
against Capital, the State and authority in Chile.

We have decided to be involved with strength, conviction and engagement to
fight against all forms of authority. Some of us have previously gone
through various practices and anti-capitalist speeches, but it has been
the practice and reflections emanating which have led us to consider
ourselves as anarchic individuals, denying every “ism” and claiming the
anti-authoritarian character of anarchy as the essence of the struggle
against domination.

We have forged our struggle’s identity going through a path that is drawn
both from our own experience and other comrades’ in different times and
places. In this journey we do not deny even a small part, but on the
contrary, we think each step is a part of a radical but always
unfinished learning process that interests us to put into dialogue with
other related comrades around the world. And we know very well what we
do not want, neither leaders nor vanguard organizations or specialists;
neither bourgeois nor popular power. Read the rest of this entry »

Santiago: Bloqueo de acceso a departamento de educación (Chile)

December 25th, 2015

December 25th, 2015

A few nights ago, in the city of Utrecht, the Netherlands, a vehicle of Otto
Workforce was set on fire. Otto Workforce is a job agency with a reputation of
exploiting people by ignoring the standard conditions, underpayment, forcing people
to work extreme over hours etc.

The action is dedicated to all who are repressed by the capitalist society,
imprisoned or killed by the bullets of pigs.

For a Black December! For a free society!
