War against ISIS/Daesh: Operation Kobanê Liberation continues to advance, reports of YPG units entering Daesh stronghold Raqqa (Kurdistan, Syria)

16 Feb 2015 – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that People’s Protection Units (YPG) forces have captured a hill inside the administrative boundaries of Raqqa, which is controlled by ISIS gangs.

One of the most reliable sources on the Syrian conflict, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that YPG forces have seized Baghdak Hill in the province of al-Raqqa and Jareqli Hill in the southwest of the city. The YPG is being supported by the brigade of al-Raqqa rebels and the battalions of Shams al- Shamal in the Kobane countryside.

The most intensive clashes since the liberation of Kobane on 26 January have taken place according to the human rights organisation, resulting in the death of 35 ISIS gang members and 4 YPG fighters.

These details were also corroborated by the statement from the YPG Press Centre. The statement also claimed that 18 ISIS members were captured alive.



YPG and rebels regain control on 2000 Square kilometers of Aleppo eastern northern countryside

February 16, 2015- YPG backed by al-Raqqa revolutionaries and Shams al-Shamal battalions have taken over 2000 Square kilometers of Aleppo eastern northern countryside 40 km from Kobane reaching 30 km from the west of the city to 35 south and southwest of the city, after violent clashes against the IS. the clashes lasted 3 months and 20 days and it was accompanied by the U.S led coalition air strikes which targeted the IS in the city and its surroundings, what devastated 70% of the city area and made it uninhabitable, it is expected that the clashes reach al-Raqqa northern countryside, Tal Abyad, Jarablis, Menbej, and Seren northeast of Aleppo

The heroic resistance still continues in Kobanê

ROJAVA, Kobanê, Feb 15, 2015
– At the initial stage of victory, the resistance against terrorist attacks of Daesh (ISIS) in Kobanê endured Feb 14 on day 153.

Continuing their operations in the context of Campaign Kobanê Liberation, members of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) and Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) during the past 24 hours managed to liberate a number of villages and strategic points from terrorist groups around Kobanê.

Our combatants who are consistently struggling against terrorist forces of Daesh, have been able to inflict severe blows to terrorist fighters during operations conducted last night in Kobanê.

In east Kobanê, a strategic terrorist-occupied hill was targeted last night by our forces and heavy clashes were experienced around the target overlooking Bexdikê village. In this battle terrorist fighters suffered heavy casualties, and the hill was eventually controlled and secured by our units.

According to the information obtained from the battlefield, 23 terrorist members were confirmed killed during the fight in this area. Along with 18 terrorists’ corpses, our units were able to seize a military vehicle, a 12.5 DShK, 300 DShK shells, 9 AK rifles, 70 AK magazines, 4000 AK bullets, 2 PK MGs, 2000 PK ammo, 2 RPG-7 rocket launchers, 4 RPG rockets, 8 hand grenades, 8 ammunition carrying vests, 5 pair of binoculars, a night vision, 5 radios, and 2 cellphones.

On this front our units simultaneously targeted the terrorist forces between Dêrfilît and Şerikeya Çîmento villages, killed 3 members of their forces.

Numerous concurrent operations were carried out against Daesh terrorists by our units in west Kobanê. During this military campaign, Çariqli village, Şehid Hogir hill and the ponds near Çariqli village were entirely liberated from terrorist forces. While the specific number of killed terrorists was not immediately verified, our units could capture 11 terrorists’ dead, 4 AK rifles, 4 ammunition vests, and 4 RPG rockets. The operation on this front is continuing at the moment.

Making further progress towards terrorist groups, YPG/YPJ Defense Units yesterday managed to liberate another important hill in south Kobanê. On that front terrorist forces were pushed back from Qun Eftar hill after a fierce fighting. A military vehicle was destroyed in the combat area where 7 terrorist fighters were confirmed killed. In this region our forces could seize 7 terrorists’ dead, 7 AK rifles, 7 hand grenades, and 21 AK magazines.

Another confrontation was experienced between our units and terrorist groups in southwest Kobanê where 9 terrorist fighters were confirmed killed.

During the operations and clashes that our units were involved in the past 24 hours, four of our comrades who selflessly conducted a heroic battle, were martyred in action. Six of our comrades were injured during the operations.

Enduring military operations to liberate the rural area of Kobanê

ROJAVA, Kobanê, Feb 14, 2015 – At the initial stage of victory, the resistance against terrorist attacks of Daesh (ISIS) in Kobanê continued Feb 13 on day 152.

In the past 24 hours, members of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) along with the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) conducted several operations as part of Campaign Kobanê Liberation in south and east Kobane.

In south Kobanê, our units targeted the villages of Toraman and Qelha Kon Eftar, and liberated those villages from terrorist forces after leading quick task operations.

Another operation was conducted by our units against terrorist groups in east Kobanê. In the course of this attack fierce fighting was experienced between our combatants and terrorist forces that were positioned near Solanê and Dêrfilît villages. During the clashes in the village of Solanê 2 terrorist members were confirmed killed.

Our units targeted terrorist forces’ fighting positions near Dêrfilît village afterwards, inflicted severe blows to their points, and killed 3 terrorist fighters. In that area our units were able to seize 7 AK rifles, a sniper rifle, and 7 ammunition carrying vests.

Ongoing military campaign in Kobanê, effective attacks against Daesh terrorists around Cizîrê

ROJAVA, Kobanê, Feb 13, 2015 – At the initial stage of victory, the resistance against terrorist attacks of Daesh (ISIS) in Kobanê continued Feb 12 on day 151.

Operations against terrorist groups in rural area of Kobanê are continuing as part of Campaign Kobanê Liberation.

Our forces of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) together with the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) yesterday launched an operation against several terrorist-occupied villages in south Kobanê. The villages of Gablek, Feyad, Bilêk, Qoçlîya Jêrîn, Zinarê Kûl and Xerab Xel were targeted in the course of this operation. 6 members of terrorists were killed in the operation and the mentioned villages were ultimately cleansed of terrorist forces.

Continuing to advance in east Kobanê, our units yesterday managed to liberate the village of Mînîsê Kor on that front. Our units in the same region carried out another attack in Dêrfilît village, killed 2 terrorist fighters.

During the operations in the past 24 hours, two of our comrades were martyred in action after conducting a great fight against terrorists. Three other of our comrades were injured during these battles.

Cizîrê, Hesekê – An assault operation was conducted by our units against terrorist groups of Daesh last night near the village of Sêda in the extent between Til Temir town and Xerîta village, Hesekê countryside. A military vehicle was destroyed in this area, our forces also targeted a convoy of the terrorists which was planned to intervene and support their forces. 8 terrorist fighters including a leader known as Salih Khidr Darwish (aka Abu Bilal) were confirmed killed as a result of the operation.

Last night another operation was launched by our units against terrorist groups positioned between Til Xerîta and Mefreqa Sedîq regions in Hesekê countryside. During the operation in this area heavy clashes erupted between our units and terrorist groups. Deploying tanks and other heavy weaponry, terrorist forces desperately attempted to stop the assault, yet they were heavily targeted by our forces. As a result of this operation 15 members of terrorist forces were confirmed killed.

Cizîrê, Cezaa Region – An assault operation was carried out yesterday against terrorist forces positioned in the villages of Filistîn and Misterîha near the Cezaa region. The operation was conducted by Şehîd Diyap Unit of YPG which is entirely composed of combatants from Arab components. As a result of the attack on terrorist groups in the two points, a military vehicle was destroyed and 3 terrorist fighters were confirmed killed.

The Resistance of Kobanê, Day 149

Kobanê, Feb 11, 2015 – At the initial stage of victory, the resistance against terrorist attacks of Daesh (ISIS) in Kobanê continued Feb 10 on day 149. As part of the second phase of Campaign Kobanê Liberation, our units are persistently conducting steadfast operations against terrorist groups in the countryside of Kobanê. In this context, heavy battles are being experienced between our units and terrorist forces on numerous points in Kobanê rural area.

In east Kobanê, our forces of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) along with the Women’s Defense Units YPJ are consistent with their operations against terrorist-occupied positions. Constantly advancing on this front, our units yesterday targeted several villages through immediate task processes. During these operations concurrently launched in the border village of Kultepe, Çelebî and Dirfilît, heavy blows were received by terrorist groups. While periodic clashes are ongoing in Çelebî, no significant resistance was shown by terrorists in Kultepe and Dêrfilît villages.

As a result of the operations carried out by our units, 2 military vehicles were destroyed and 13 members of terrorists were confirmed killed. Our forces were able to seize 1 RPG-7 rocket launcher, 5 rockets, 2 AK rifles, and 2 boxes of ammunition.

Qamişlo
– On midday hours of yesterday, Feb. 10, an assault operation was launched by our forces against terrorist groups of Daesh who were positioned between the villages of Mesusa and Xenamîr, 25 kilometers south Qamişlo. During this operation a vehicle was destroyed along with the operatives inside, terrorists’ casualties could not be immediately verified.
