17 March 2010

“At 2am on 17 March, anarchists attacked the inner-city probation offices in Stokes Croft, Bristol.

Paintbombs were thrown, the windows destroyed, were to personnel gates locks attached and slogans ” No Prison – No State” and ” For Lambros” on the walls were spray-painted. This activity is inaugurated on the death of our comrade Lambros of Athens in Greece, who was murdered by cops and represents part of our active denial of the control system. “Capitalism is a system of relationships, which goes from inside to out, from outside to in, from above to below, and from below to above. Everything is relative, everything is in chains. Capitalism is a condition both of the world and of the soul.”
-Franz Kafka

There is nothing left; nothing that hasn’t been molded, molested, or completely crushed; nothing that has managed to escape the network of power as it scours every inch of the earth, lodging itself into every crevice.
Crowding each moment, the omnipresent asphyxiation provides ample evidence to this all-encompassing totalization. Heads bowed, backs bent, we bear the weight of the day in our beleaguered entrails.

Now taking on increasingly monstrous qualities, a vampire-likeness of achieved full nocturnality, even the sleeper finds his dreams inhabited. Robbing us of expectations, snatching away our latent potential, Capital has acquired the speculative capability to recuperate futures and integrate things before their invention. After colonizing the entire world, the enemy now works to conquer the collective realm of our imaginations where we once plotted and, consequently, envisioned its very demise.

The cooption of creativity signaled the predetermined defeat, which led the Marxists to surrender to the British Museum before they realized an 1848. The only pseudo-victory to their credit consists in pushing Negri out of
the spotlight by ushering “communization” and “insurrection” into the academy’s discursive field. Both trends can be written off as failed experiments because each has neglected to activate the only concept capable of giving jargon any significance. The Struggle.

“To fight, to be defeated, to fight again, to be defeated again, to fight anew until the final victory.”
-An old Italian adage

In practice, the clashes and occupations have divorced the leftist baggage and chosen everyday life as the terrain for conflict, yet unfortunately expression still continues to abide by the activist calendar. A day of action is paled by a year of misery. Like long fits of depression, extended bouts of downtime undermine each subversive act, resulting in the production of militant event planners: blinded to the past and merely anticipating the next unsuccessful Bastille storming. They strike at the same tempo ordinary citizens attend birthday parties, riot at the same rate of wedding crashers and surely, at this pace, they will never RSVP the bourgeoisie funeral.

Detached theory and relegated practice present themselves as nothing other than the comorbid symptoms of statified ideology. Now we can confidently diagnose that the much prophesized “coming” can only amount to a
passing fad.

We notice the relentless internalized repression masquerading as patience and so we refuse to wait for March 4th, the ides of March or, for that matter, any date to come. We expressed our distaste for the veiled technological prison of surveillance and electronic monitoring by sabotaging several of the soon to be installed ID-card scanners at the Hunter College campus. Against education as such, we then struck Brooklyn College’s administrative building. Lastly, we attacked Marathon bank, a subsidiary of the same Piraeus bank that Alfredo Bonanno and Christos Stratigopoulos are accused of expropriating. We extend our solidarity to the two imprisoned comrades and, as Bonanno’s health deteriorates in a prison cell, we adhere to the following principle:

“For an eye, two eyes. For a tooth, the whole face.”

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Hundreds of civilians and anarchists attacked riot police during the eviction of land 4.900 m2 in Padang Raya, Makassar, South Sulawesi on Tuesday, 23. One person injured.

Molotov and stones were being throwned at the riot police and by their stupid mistakes, the tear gas that supposed to be targetted to the attacking-civilians who defended their neighbourhood, were blowed back by the wind and hit the police. The riot police retreated and the militant civilians wins. Up to this day, the blockade and struggle against eviction still happening.

RBS attacked with rocks & fire over Tar Sands project (UK)

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Received via contact form.

23 February 2009

In the early hours of Tuesday 23rd February 2010, anarchists attacked the Royal Bank of Scotland HQ in the heart of developing Bristol, UK.

Despite road traffic and proximity of security, the mob succeeded in breaking windows, smashing paint-bombs against upper floors and setting fire to tyres in the middle of the road.

A litany of abuses by RBS or any other bank could continue for pages, but it is enough to state that every bank is part of the financial prison which incarcerates and impoverishes all of us.

These actions will escalate and multiply.

We dedicate this action to all indigenous fighters and their allies struggling against the Tar Sands project in Kanada which RBS is an investor in, and also all those who fight against the 2010 Winter-Olympics.

This action is also in solidarity with Alfredo M. Bonanno, Christos Stratigopoulos, Polykarpos Georgiades, Vaggelis Chrisohoides, Giannis Dimitrakis, Gabriel Pombo da Silva, the entire London G20 defendants/prisoners and all other prisoners in struggle.

For international struggle against capitalism and the state.

achieve a world where we might control our own lives and find solutions to our own problems we must first fight to bring this world to the ashes that it so deserves.

2010 New Year solidarity actions against the prison world

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Here are a few of the soli actions which took place :

Hamilton, Ontario, Kanada – New Years Eve Noise Soli Demo

On December 31, 2009, about 30 anarchists took to the streets in Hamilton, Ontario surrounding the Barton St. Jail (or the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Center). Our intention was to show solidarity with prisoners locked behind those walls, and also as an act of solidarity with the revolutionary prisoners on hunger strike throughout the world.

This action was an attempt to break the isolation between inside and outside the prison walls. We used our voices, drums, fireworks, whistles, and other noise-makers to disrupt the day-to-day normalcy of the prison. We chanted: “The passion for freedom is stronger than their prisons!” , “No prisons, no borders, fuck law and order!” , “They might take our lives away, but not our dignity. Our hearts will pound against their walls until we are all free!”

Prisoners waved and banged on the windows while we were outside. We wished them a Happy New Year.

There was also a banner that said “ESCAPE” attached to helium balloons that was freed next to the prison and floated into the sky. It was originally intended to say “escape into rebellion” but our 120 latex helium balloons weren’t enough to lift it into the sky. We decided to cut it down to roughly 6 x 3 feet because we wanted a flying banner.

A speech was read on two sides of the prison through a megaphone.

Here is the speech:

“I’m standing here today because I refuse to accept the leash of submission that this society hopes to tie around my neck. With every one of its laws, courts, cops, prisons and networks of surveillance, it’s made very clear that the “life” we’re supposed to accept is nothing more than a life sentence in an open prison.

“I’m here to stand in solidarity with the fifteen social rebels who’ve been on hunger strike in prisons around the world because they continue to refuse the meek existence that the state and capital tries to impose on them with every weapon that it has available.

“I’m also here in solidarity with the man who escaped from the [custody of] Barton Jail a little while ago, as well as his accomplices, and anyone on the inside who yearns for freedom and will do what it takes to take their lives back.

“Because with every act of solidarity and with every individual who attacks this prison world, alone or with others, the walls that stand between us begin to look a hell of a lot a thinner. For an end to prisons and the world that needs them!

“Let’s escape into rebellion!”

This prison is located close to downtown Hamilton in a working-class neighborhood. For many of us who have spent time or live in Hamilton, Barton Jail is not an abstract or seemingly invisible place – it is a constant threat and reminder of the reality of prison. People who live here have spent time in it, know people who have, or are well aware that they may one day find themselves kidnapped behind its walls. These might be some of the reasons why people getting groceries at the supermarket next to the jail and people walking by, who checked us out, took the time to express their solidarity. Some people stood with us and cheered, while others took part in the noise demo by honking their car horns in the supermarket parking lot. One woman used the megaphone to wish her own happy new year to the prisoners. Also, a child took a picture of the flying banner. The excitement both on the inside and the outside revealed possibilities of, and will only push us further in, the struggle against prison and its
world.

FREEDOM FOR THE IMPRISONED REVOLUTIONARIES ON HUNGER STRIKE AROUND THE WORLD!

SOLIDARITY WITH COMRADES FIGHTING AGAINST PRISON, INSIDE AND OUT!

Berlin, Germany – 500 Strong Anti-Prison Demo

500 people were at the legendary New Year anti-prison manifestation, which has occured at Berlin’s Moabit prison every last day of the year for the previous 20 years. This time the slogan for the demo was “New Year’s Eves to the prison – for the destruction of all forms of imprisonment” (trans). This demo addresses all the prisoners, to show them that they do not rot forgotten behind grey walls, we demand the abolition of all prisons, since prison do not represent any solution to the present social conditions. The demo started at Tower U-Bahnhof at about 10:45pm, and went briskly to the prison broadcasting suitable music, arriving at the prison shortly before midnight, where there was a positive welcoming reaction from the prisoners. The French Hip Hop “Mary Read Collective” played some songs and clarified their refusal of the dominant conditions and their prisons. Police attempted to create a repressive atmosphere towards the throwing of snowballs and fireworks from the demo towards the police lines. There were 2 arrests. Some photos here. ACAB.

Hamburg, Germany – Demo with fireworks and music

In the early evening an undeclared demonstration of around 20 people took place with slogans and fireworks to show the prisoners they are not alone. The prisoners answered the demo with shouts and greetings. Then later at 11pm 250 people turned up for a demo, where there was spoken contributions in German, Turkish and Russian on a sound-system. The gates of the prison were painted with slogans, amongst other things, “Fire and flames to the state”, and fireworks were thrown during the whole demo, and an arrest was prevented. There were many reactions and contacts with prisoners, calls, in addition, paper burnt from the windows and thrown down. Banners were fastened in the trees outside reading, amongst others, “Solidarity with all fighting prisoners”. At 1am the demo was terminated and closed with slogans.

Brussels, Belgium – Machine-gunning of the prison of Forest

Just after the start of the New Year 2010, the main door of the prison had been targeted with shots from an automatic firearm. Altogether 40 cartridge cases were found by the forensic police that arrived at the scene. The shots took place at 0.40 hours. That is what was revealed by the cctv camera images inspected by the prison management. In these images it is possible to see the shadow of a vehicle appearing in the street before the windows of the huge door of the prison were shattered. The cartridge cases found at the scene were those of a weapon of war, a kalachnikov. It goes without saying that the shots would have been fatal for a human being. The shots were so strong that they reached in interior of the prison, shattering a ventilation shaft. Fortunately there was nobody behind the door when the event took place. A member of personnel in charge of the surveillance of this main access to the prison was at his place just above the level of the entrance door.

Brighton, UK – New Years Eve solidarity at Lewes prison

“Around 30 people celebrated New Years Eve outside Lewes prison (near Brighton) with fireworks and a sound system, as well as banners against the prison state and shouting messages of support. Those inside Lewes currently include one of those charged with (and currently on remand for) decomissioning the EDO bomb components factory in Brighton. The evening’s comedy highlight was the police (all four of them) deciding to try and turn off the sound system during the last song we planned to play, as they objected to the lyrics of the Xmas number one by Rage Against The Machine. After some push and shove while people sang along to ‘fuck you I won’t do what you tell me’, they backed off, and people headed off to continue their New Year celebrations somewhere warmer while prisoners shouted for us to come back the next night…”

Bristol, UK -NYE Solidarity Action at Horfield Prison

“As another decade of neoliberal warfare was ushered in, a group of 20-30 comrades, criminals and low-lifes released fireworks into the grounds of Horfield Prison. Slogans were painted on the fortress walls. Loud noise was made. This act of solidarity was intended to show those locked up inside, whilst the rest of the city was celebrating the new year, that they were not forgotten. Many other cities across Europe and the rest of the world experienced similar acts of solidarity to those incarcerated, whatever their ‘crime’ might be.

Inside and outside of those walls we are all prisoners. Fire to the prisons. Death to imperialism. Solidarity with all people and communities resisting the onslaught of planetary control and exploitation that is industrial civilisation.”

Barcelona, Catalunya – Pigs’ union attacked

“We have begun the year in the best possible way, by attacking the pigs’ union on Calle Bruc, right in the middle of Barcelona. An incendiary device was used, which damaged the entrance to the building. The damage caused will always be dwarfed by how much we hate them.

With this action, we salute all the comrade prisoners in struggle, all those underground, and all those who fight capital.

May the “celebrations” continue.”

Santiago de Compostela, Spain – Two police stations attacked

“On New Year’s Eve, we attacked two police stations in Santiago de Compostela as a special way to welcome in the blessed year. We firebombed both a van and a car at the local police station (next to the Plaza del Obradoiro), and we left another device at the national police station on Rúa Pitelos.

Vengeance for Tamara, vengeance for the anarchist prisoners on hunger strike (Gabriel, Marco . . .), vengeance for the arrests of our Greek comrades, vengeance just because, vengeance . . . why not? It seems the vehicles were quite damaged, but it’s a pity the bad weather didn’t help burn them even more.

We are losing our fear.”

Madrid, Spain – Vengeance in downtown

“Yesterday, December 31, 2009, at 11:50 p.m., we placed an incendiary device with a delayed ignition at the Plaza de La Remonta, next to the police station.

The attack was specifically directed at the repressive organs of the state, which for the last few months have increased their level of repression, along with all that implies.

The device was only placed as a warning. It is nothing less than a preview of things to come.

Repression means attack!

LET’S DESTROY THE STATE, BEGINNING WITH ITS GUARDIANS”

Solidarity with flames on X-mas day! (Greece)

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

A communique from Greece for an arson, translated from an Athens Indymedia post on 27/12:

25 December 2009:

“In the late hours of Christmas we put up in flames 3 vehicles belonging to the Municipality of Stavroupoli in Thessaloniki. Whatever carries a state identity, escpecially like a big municipality of a big city, will always be a very good target. We chose this certain day in an attempt to reverse its mood and its moral guise, to sabotage the ridiculous festive atmosphere with the decorated trees, the mangers in the squares and with the shinny family dinners which hide a lot of hypocrisy and unhappiness. All these Christmas stupidities universally, based on spectacle and promoting the culture of mass consumption, with the anniversal humanitarianism and the “social solidarity” cannot be anything else than the confirmation of the society’s decay.

On our side we realise solidarity in a different way and make it an act through ceaseless revolutionary action till we get liberated from the chains of all authorities. So our solidarity, together with our warm greetings, we send to anarchist comrades that have been captured in the hands of the state for their decision to take part in social war.

To Gabriel Pombo Da Silva who is imprisoned in Aachen, Germany and who at this time is on hunger strike in his attempt to manifestate against the prison system for one more time and to the comrades that succour with hunger strike in various prisons around the world like Marcos Camenisch in Switzerland, Juan Carlos, Francisco, Honorio and Albert in Spain, Diego in Argentina and Sergio, Mike and Evelyn in Italy.

To Alfredo Bonnano, Christos Stratigopoulos and Amadeu Casellas that are confined and have been also in the past in prison for bank expropriations.

To Tamara that was arrested only 10 days ago and is held in women prisons Wad-Ras in Barcelona and is charged of sending a mail-bomb to the secretary of the Catalan penitentiary services.

Also to our detained comrades in Mexico, Chile, Usa, France, Italy and Serbia.

To our detained comrades in Greece; Giannis Dimitrakis, Polis Georgiadis, Giorgos Voutsis-Vogiatzis, Ilias Nikolaou, Panagiotis Masouras and Haris Hadjimihelakis.

Besides the above list there are hundreds more that live the hell of prison and oppose it with dignity as their are comrades that in order to avoid it are wanted by the authorities and others that are as well wanted with a money reward on top and many more that are under various restrictions and are awaiting trials.

To end, it will be impossible to forget and to not make a reference of honour to our dead comrades with the most recent examples being the shot dead by cops young Alexis Grigoropoulos, the shot and stabbed to death russian antifas Fedor Filatov and Ivan Khutorskoi and also Zoe from France and Mauricio Morales from Chile that found death when their homemade bombs exploded in different cases.

FIRE TO THE PRISONS – SMASH THE STATE!”

Attack against "Komsomolskaya Pravda" in Moscow (Russia)

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

10 December 2009 : An anonymous group of anarchists and anti-fascists committed a small attack against tabloid paper “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, which is one of the most circulated in Russia (according to some sources they sell 5 million copies). Some windows were broken, some rocks and smoke bombs thrown.

Statement of the attackers (in Russian)

They state that they targeted KP as it is viciously anti-migrant and anti-antifa, and they have a number of well-known Nazis working there.

Short video

For some reason this action was a very controversial and there is a huge amount of disclaimers in various sites and blogs.

Employment agency 'Manpower' attacked in Bristol (UK)

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

6 December 2009 : Damage action against strike breaking, scumbag profiteer company

“On the night of 6th December Manpower offices in Bristol were attacked with hammers. All the big plate glass windows on the front of their office were smashed. This action was taken in the face of seemingly overwhelming attacks on workers everywhere by capital and state. Manpower were responsible for hiring 30,000 non unionised “workers” (read “scabs”) to break the recent strike action by postal workers. Well, some of us don’t forget that, as the old saying goes, an attack on one is an attack on all!

Manpower are just a symbol, the epitome of agencies profitting from the race to the bottom, forcing thousands into shitty jobs with no dignity, security or chance of escape, struggling so hard to kep heads above the shit. They oil the wheels of the corporate state , where people are totally expendable to the needs of the bosses and the profit machine. Huge pay increases and rewards for the few, cuts and threats for the rest of us.

The class divide between rich and poor is growing all the time, so we think it’s time we started acting like it!

In the social war, they have nothing to offer us but target practice. Fight the power!”

COP15 Call out – 12th December, Copenhagen (Denmark)

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

Join us in Copenhagen on the mass protest on the 12th of December, 2009!

The catastrophe is real and climate change is one of its many symptoms. The COP15s inevitable talk of saving the world from the climate crisis is an elaborate hoax to disguise the COP15s true purpose: to restore the legitimacy of global capitalism by inaugurating an era of green capitalism. A new rhetoric of saving the climate will exist to justify their repression, their fortified borders, their colonial resource wars. To give the Emperor new clothes. Our response to this astounding lie is an uncompromising and absolute NO to their system.

More has to be shaken than our holiday habits to sustain the world for times to come. It would be foolish to pin our hopes upon the very people who continue to kill off the planet for money. At Copenhagen, they will argue over how to properly create a market to commodify and so pollute the biosphere, dispossessing millions of people from their land to profit from destroying what remains of our earth. Governments and corporations will not sacrifice their growth to reduce carbon emissions, or only do so in order to create a new authoritarian regime for themselves.

The entire rhetoric of the climate crisis and the financial crisis is a cynical maneouvre by the state spin-doctors to deny the all-encompassing crisis of self-declared civilization. The COP15 will only attempt to hide the war that capitalism is waging against all life on the planet, a war that has spread across the entire globe for the last five hundred years, a war that encompasses the totality of even the oceans and atmosphere. In the midst of war, one does not talk of management and technical solutions. You cannot fight a war by pretending the war does not exist, by blinding yourself to repression and becoming complicit in accepting the false-promise of a petit bourgeois tranquility. Instead, one recognizes the enemy. One chooses a position. One fights.

Only by ridding ourselves of those who claim to be representing us and by defeating the ideology of endless economic growth, industrial production and consumption can we take control of our lives and planet. It is time to state: we are going to consciously attack the structures supporting the COP15: we will break through the lines of their police; we will refuse to negotiate with warmongering governments and the embedded media; we will refuse to side with sell-out NGOs and all the would-be managers of protest; we will refuse all governments and governance and not just de-legitimize the present ones.

It is time to state why we think that insurrection is needed to actually begin the change everybody is so desperate for. Acting together in fundamental opposition to those in power we might get a first glimpse of the richness and opportunities possible when ideas, experiences and concepts are shared amongst people from all over the world.

We Are Not Slaves, We Are Dynamite

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

This is the text from a new poster made in solidarity with Alfredo M.Bonanno and Christos Stratigopoulos. You can find the text and poster in many different languages here.

They are old things, from another century. Poverty, which progress seemed to have banished from the West, comes back to make us feel its bite. Bankers aren’t jumping from windows yet, but the poor are filling the streets. Factories and shops close their doors. Millions of people find themselves with no means for facing the future. They were promised that a life passed on their knees, between a job that profited a boss and obedience to the will of the government would at least ensure a quiet survival for them. Now it’s clear to all that this was a lie. (more…)

About the attacks against State & Capital and the 'Conspiracy of Cells of Fire' (Greece)

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

A huge storm of revolt raged through the streets of Greece in December 2008. After the young Andreas Grigoropoulos was murdered by a cop, riots spread throughout the whole country for several weeks. Hundreds of banks, shops, car dealers, offices,… were attacked, plundered and put on fire. Although it were anarchists and anti-authoritarians who took the lead in this storm during the first week after the murder, it spread itself fast and many people got involved in this revolt against miserable living conditions, against the authorities and against the hopelessness offered by this world to the exploited and oppressed.

But the revolt didn’t cease at the end of 2008, neither did it start on the day of the murder. (more…)
