Communique of Silvia about her anti-WEF hunger strike from 20th to 29th of January 2012 (Switzerland)

Nanotechnologies are going to be one of the discussion points of the World Economic Forum. This is exemplary of how, along with biotechnologies, they are something more than a simple technological development. They represent a strategical and fundamental choice for the survival of this tecno-industrial system, they are the bricks with which the system will rebuild itself in every sector.

This is a communiqué written by comrades in Bologna:
Rebel or fuck off
On 27th June the forces of order evicted the Free Republic of the Maddalena [in Val Susa] in order to start the works for the construction of the high speed railway. Hundreds of NO TAV people opposed directly the military occupation of the territory. On 3rd July 70,000 people assaulted the TAV yard in Val Susa. A very special yard, as no worker could be found there but antiriot troops and police were entrenched there. This is an outstanding example of devastation of the environment, and of the interests of big capital and the mafia that goes along it. On 26th January the State arrested 32 comrades all over Italy ‘for the events of those days’. An operation that means just one thing: active resistance against infrastructures, powers, armed forces and institutions that rape and impoverish the planet is considered illegal. (more…)

This is the text of a poster that was fly-posted in Trento and Rovereto (northern Italy) in solidarity with the people arrested on 26th January following a police operation against the NO TAV movement in the Susa valley.

(Monti is the current Italian prime minister, but the word also translates as ‘Mountains’).
Repression can’t stop the struggle
In the early hours of Thursday 26th January a massive repressive operation led to the search of 52 people all over Italy, 26 were jailed and a dozen submitted to various restrictive measures, from house arrest to bans on leaving one’s place of abode and bans on staying in Turin. The charges – resistance to the forces of order, violent disorder and causing serious damage – refer to the resistance against the eviction of the Free Republic of the Maddalena on 27th June and to the mass storming of the TAV blockhouse on 3rd July. We hereby invite you to this year´s Förvilda Camp. It will be held the 31/5-4/6 in the middle of Sweden. Here is invitation flyer, which we hope you can spread throughout your networks.
We are attempting to broaden the resistance against the globalized ecocidal culture and develop perspectives within the anti-capitalist movements, while also exchanging experiences and knowledge for sustainable living and sustainable resistance communities. If you want to contribute with anything from a discussion around attacking prisons to a practical workshop on how to make fire or show a movie, please let us know and we will arrange something together.
With Wild Regards,
The Förvilda Crew

The Zurich Office of Corrections denied the conditional release of Marco Camenisch. The 60 years old eco-anarchist prisoner is incarcerated since 20 years. At present, he’s in the prison of Lenzburg, Switzerland.
This January he went on a limited hunger strike to protest against the annual ‘World Economic Forum’ in Davos – a disgusting gathering of self-declared business and world leaders, culture industry wankers like Bono, and assorted rich arseholes. Two anarchist prisoners joined Marco’s protest: Silvia Guerini (prison of Hindelbank) and Luca ‘Billy’ Bernasconi (prison of Regensdorf). (more…)

“Sunlight in Coventry was our focus. This company deal with Harlan so also deal with the ALF. The depot walls were painted with slogans against these puppy killers.”

SRCL are a vital supplier to Harlan and take away dead dogs and waste from the breeders for incineration.
In the dead of night we climbed over the fences at the Head Office in Leeds. Walls were spraypainted with slogans against Harlan and vivisection. Locks on the building were superglued shut and damage also done to the bike shed.
Researchers are stuck in their training of years gone by and will not acknowledge that advanced methods are available to replace animal experiments. These are accurate and need to be used to cure diseases such as parkinsons and cancer. Until they are we will continue pushing forward science and bringing about the end of vivisection.
For every bloodsoaked penny you make from this contract we will double it in costs.

As part of the campaign for solidarity with the freedom struggle in Indonesia, we print this report from a comrade there:
On 24 December 2011, the tragedy happens in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Four people (media local said) died (eight now confirmed dead – killed by police during the resistance). It began when thousands of people including farmers blockaded the harbour of Sape in Bima. They protest to the government which had given permission to PT SMN to mine gold in the area of the area about 24.980 hectares. The people there are worried about the environmental damage. It is because most of the people there work as farmers and fisherman. The presence of the mine will destroy water sources and finally the agricultural ways in the area will be damaged.

Actions reported via Bite Back:
December 4, 2011
“In the run up to Christmas Air France-KLM are running an advertising campaign in the UK so we gave them some festive decoration.
Paint bombs were thrown at a number of them and slogans spraypainted denouncing their involvement in transporting animals for vivisection.
Là où jamais vous êtes, nous sommes. Là où jamais vous pensez vous pouvez se cacher, nous sommes suivants.”

“The staff at the Beyond Retro head office won’t of been expecting the surprise that awaited them on thursday morning on Penn street in London.
With red paint splashed and sprayed on their walls doors and shutters there could be no doubt why us activists visited them.
And fyi the last word was going to be ‘yours’: as in up. We will come back to finish the sentence if you continue to sell fur.”

“Traps destroyed, feed bins overturned/emptied and marker flags taken at pheasant shooting estate nr. Malvern.
This action may be small but it is the first of many.”
November 22, 2011
“While zippos circus were holding shows in Richmond, London we visited their site one morning.
Spray paint was used to let everyone know who had been there and why. Animal abusers was spray painted on the trucks and tents.
The exhaust pipes of many of the vehicles including the tractor’s metre long exhaust were filled with expanding foam as an obvious act of sabotage to prevent the vehicles from being used.
We also filled several of the locks of the vehicles with superglue and red paint was thrown over some of the larger vehicles.
The message should be clear by now zippos. Stop using animals in your shows or the actions will continue.”

On 30/11/2011 we set out to spike forest roads in a hunting resort of Naro-fominsk district (Moscow region).
We can’t find words to describe our happiness at discovering a forest service vehicle parked on a remote trail. It was a mystery for us if they were there on an ambush (they were sort of hard to spot initially), or simply taking a rest away from their bosses (as Russian enforcement agents are prone to do). So we spiked about 2 kms of the road in both directions from the vehicle. We wish them a cold and lonely night in the dark forest.
We felt emotions akin to those every anarchist with molotov in a back pack must have felt when she suddenly came upon an empty police car.
Forest service officers do not protect forests or wildlife, they are there to make it possible for hunters kill animals (for a bribe or due to dubious legislation), they rob tourists during tourist seasons, they turn a blind eye towards tree-cutters.
We salute young men and women from ALF-Moscow for their courageous acts. The struggle continues until total liberation!

A Letter of Solidarity with the Informal Anarchist Federation by Walter Bond, A.L.F Prisoner of War (USA)
Thursday, November 3rd, 2011
Hello, my name is Walter Bond. I am currently serving a prison sentence in the United States for 3 A.L.F. arsons totaling nearly 2 million dollars’ worth of damage. Recently, I read a statement in solidarity with the Conspiracy Cells of Fire attempting to create a real voice for all of us political prisoners and prisoners of war, those of us that have fought and still fight from our prison cells against all civilization. I was happy to see that solidarity was signed with me in that article as well. As a small token of my support please accept the enclosed brief letter of solidarity that I have written for the Informal Anarchist Federation. Animal Liberation, Whatever It May Take! (more…)
