We Are Not Slaves, We Are Dynamite

November 8th, 2009

This is the text from a new poster made in solidarity with Alfredo M.Bonanno and Christos Stratigopoulos. You can find the text and poster in many different languages here.

They are old things, from another century. Poverty, which progress seemed to have banished from the West, comes back to make us feel its bite. Bankers aren’t jumping from windows yet, but the poor are filling the streets. Factories and shops close their doors. Millions of people find themselves with no means for facing the future. They were promised that a life passed on their knees, between a job that profited a boss and obedience to the will of the government would at least ensure a quiet survival for them. Now it’s clear to all that this was a lie. Read the rest of this entry »

About the attacks against State & Capital and the 'Conspiracy of Cells of Fire' (Greece)

November 7th, 2009

A huge storm of revolt raged through the streets of Greece in December 2008. After the young Andreas Grigoropoulos was murdered by a cop, riots spread throughout the whole country for several weeks. Hundreds of banks, shops, car dealers, offices,… were attacked, plundered and put on fire. Although it were anarchists and anti-authoritarians who took the lead in this storm during the first week after the murder, it spread itself fast and many people got involved in this revolt against miserable living conditions, against the authorities and against the hopelessness offered by this world to the exploited and oppressed.

But the revolt didn’t cease at the end of 2008, neither did it start on the day of the murder. Read the rest of this entry »

Shouting and fireworks at Lewes Prison, Sussex (UK)

November 6th, 2009

1st November 2009 : Disturbance at the Lewes Prison by anarchists. Here is the claim: “In the early evening of the 1st November a rabble of anarchists were up at the dirty old prison of Lewes, with some fireworks for the inmates and rage against the prison society.

Waving a skull and crossbones banner, the anarchists made a loud presence outside the main gate.

Shouting slogans like:

“The Passion for Freedom is Stronger than the Prison”

“No Prison, No Border – Fuck Law & Order”

The prisoners heard and saw us, and called back, waving, holding up lighters and shouting into the night sky between us which was broken by the boom-crack of our rockets, which illuminated the darkness. Then a second box blossomed towards the stars and another stray rocket found its way under a car before we dispersed.

This was for all prisoners in struggle, like Elijah Smith, anarchist comrade imprisoned in Lewes right now for anti-militarist sabotage against Israeli war crimes.”

Probation Office attacked in Brighton (UK)

November 6th, 2009

1st November 2009 : “Probation office attacked in brighton with stones and paint. last night we smashed the windows of the probation office on dyke road in brighton. this out of solidarity with prisoners everywhere, in every single prison, whether this means being locked up behind bars or being a prisoner in this society of coercion and control which tries to force us into being nothing but slaves to the capitalist system. we are fucking disgusted by this society and its delegates such as the pigs, the screws, the bosses etc. we have smashed these windows and we will do it again.

we will not be satisfied until there is nothing left of this prisonworld but its ashes, until every prisoner of this society is free.

DESTROY ALL PRISONS.
VIVA L’ ANARCHIA.”

Selex arms company attacked (UK)

November 6th, 2009

5 November 2009 : Selex arms company attacked. Here is the claim: “This is the Fuck the War Coalition and we are bringing the war home to those who profit from imperialism. This morning we broke 10 windows on the Selex Galileo building. A spokesperson said “Corporations like Selex Galileo play a vital role in the military industrial complex. They have the blood of the innocent Afghani, Iraqi and Palestinian people who suffer at the hands of the capitalist system.” Another added “The war in Afghanistan has nothing to do with democracy, women’s rights, opium or the war on terror. Its about oil pipelines, making money for big corporations, and establishing permanent military bases near China, India and Pakistan. “Working class people from Scotland are joining the Army and getting killed in Afghanistan so that the bosses and shareholders of companies like Selex and BP can make more money.”

NOTES

The Fuck The War Coalition does not exist, but is merely a name used by those taking action against the war machine. Property destruction and other acts of direct action have been claimed by the FTWC across the UK for the last two and a half years and will continue until global militarism has ceased. FTWC have attacked army recruitment centres, arms factories, and the American consulates and embassies.

Royal Bank of Scotland HQ attacked in Brighton (UK)

November 6th, 2009

2 November 2009 : Attack against RBS in solidarity with anarchist prisoners. Here is the claim: “We take responsibility for attacking the Brighton HQ of the Royal Bank of Scotland in the evening of 2nd November 2009. All banks are part of the same system which is destroying everything and has to go. Banks are the most visible manifestation of the exploitation and annihilation of our lives, carried out by state and capital. We haven’t forgotten the role of RBS in the financial crisis and the April G20 where Ian Tomlinson was killed by police, nor do we forgive.

We dedicate this action to Yiannis Dimitrakis, Amadeu Casellas, Thomas Meyer-Falk, Alfredo M. Bonanno and Christos Stratigopulos, anarchist comrades in prison for expropriations who chose to directly attack this system, as well as all other rebels who are in struggle inside and outside the prison walls.

We will not stop.”

Letter from Artur Konowalik-Prisoner in Poland

November 5th, 2009

As long as there is a division between prisoners and the “normal people”, I will rebel against it

Below, we’re publishing another letter from Artur Konowalik, a social prisoner in Rzeszow, Poland. Artur has already written two letters that have been published, where he wrote about prison life in Poland and about the units for dangerous prisoners, this time we can read about prisoners’ self-mutilations. We encourage you to write to Artur. The fact that he receives a lot of letters means Artur’s treatment by prison screws and his conditions have improved. Artur hasn’t given up and here he describes a big bit of his life in a really moving way, his life which is one of almost 100,000 lives behind the prison bars in Poland.
Until all are free, we’re all imprisoned.

We're not Victims – We are Fighters (Kulon Progo, Indonesia)

November 4th, 2009

For more background on the community of Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, Indonesia and their resistance to the planned Iron Mine on their land see: 325 #7 and this article.

We hope that comrades from abroad can make a solidarity action for the farmers of Kulon Progo and make a presence to the nearest Indonesian Embassy regarding this case. Our dear comrades of Kulon Progo are in one spirit with us. They are our friends in struggle and daily lives. A recent statement from the Sultan of Yogyakarta dictates that they will continue this megaproject and so the consequences are more repression to come. But for sure, from recent gathering and since the beginning of resistance, the Kulon Progo’s peasants remained determined in their resistance and ready for the next social war. This is just a beginning.

About a robbery in Greece (Free Alfredo & Christos!)

October 28th, 2009

They’re old things, from another century. Two anarchists get arrested after a bank job. The first robbed it, gun in hand. They say the second helped him, holding the money. It happened in a small Greek village, this past October 1. And so? There are things that happen. And then that is a far away country, with an incomprehensible and untranslatable language. Who do you want to be interested in it? Read the rest of this entry »

Against the Hallmark Nickel Project (Philippines)

October 28th, 2009

Information about destructive mining project in Mati, Davao, Philippines.

From anarchists in Philippines involved in resistance:

“Autonomous resistance against eco-destruction and social turmoil carried out by capital needs to develop unbounded and analyzed upon creating a revolutionary plight in reclaiming direct control towards freedom- liberatory space and unconstrained desire and capacity beyond the bondages of imagination to put into action -without compromise. The struggle against domination, the enemy- state, capital and religion acquiring and exploiting the earth landscape as extractable resources manifests the ever-growing contagious outbreak of various oppositional elements and social conventions concealed within the legal framework and morality of lobbying, servitude and pacifism until natural life is mechanically being reduced and controlled into the hands of conservation experts, scientists and sustainable management schemes as a means of reaction to such atrocious events. Ideological dogma, reformism and centralized administrative structures often becomes the product of deeds and academic indoctrination consequently suppressing the burning rage of defiance and revolt against the social order and ecological havoc maintained by the ruling forces. Such logic is inflicting coercion over other life forms- a totalitarian mindset taking place within the driving stages and development of social experimentation and control”.

The Hallmark Nickel Project is one of the 23 priority mining projects that are part of the Philippines government’s 2004 Minerals Action Plan. Spearheaded by President Arroyo, the plan aims to revitalize the Philippine mining industry and encourage foreign investment as a driver for national development. Hallmark demonstrates the complexity of international mining projects and the challenges in ensuring sufficiently high social and environmental standards are met by international mining companies and their joint venture partners. Open Letter from Christos to the Minister of Justice (Greece)

October 26th, 2009

Christos Stratigopoulos is a Greek anarchist who recently got arrested for bank robbery together with Italian anarchist Alfredo Bonnano. They are both in prison

Christos Stratigopoulos, detainee in the Amfissa prisons, wrote the following letter on the 9th of October 2009. The letter was registered to the Minister of Justice, Mr. Ch. Kastanides.

Honourable Minister Mr. Kastanides

I am an anarchist detainee in the Amfissa prisons, where I have arrived recently. Obviously, you can understand that today, I have the same relation to socialism as you have to antiauthoritarianism. I am telling you this because just yesterday, I heard on the television news that Mr. Giorgos Papandreou* urged his new ministers to “act as antiauthoritarians towards authority”.

As for myself, I was always a supporter of actions and not of vague talk. This is the reason for me to be incarcerated right this moment and not of course because of my beliefs. Read the rest of this entry »

News from Berlin (Germany)

October 25th, 2009

This weekend was heavier than normal in Berlin.

The temporary release of left radical prisoners Alex and Christoph bouyed spirits in the German capital. The comrades were imprisoned on separate charges of arson following the autonomous days of action for free spaces. They were granted temporary release this week after both trials collapsed over lack of evidence. In the vicinity of a solidarity party for prisoners a car was burnt and the attending officers were greeted by stones (unconfirmed). On Saturday night the police were attacked on two seperate occasions in Kreuzberg. Near Schlecses Tor they were attacked with bottles and then again on Kopernicker Strasse with stones.

Four police cars were damaged in the latter attack including one civil cop car. In other parts of the city three cars were burnt. The antagonism between the police and the left radical scene continues to grow….

Alex and Christoph still face trial but they are not confined to prison in the meantime.
