“Since 2006, we, the coastal inhabitants of Kulon Progo Regency, have struggled to defend our Human Rights (as guaranteed by UU [Undang-Undang = regulation] No 39 of 1999), Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (as guaranteed by UU No 11 of 2005), and Right to Land (as guaranteed by UU no 5 of 1960). The presence of these rights and the prospect that they will continue into the future are under threat, due to the policies of the Kulon Progo Regency Government to mine iron sands and build a steel factory in an area which is settled by, and provides a livelihood for, its inhabitants. Just as it was known that it would, this mine has triggered a conflict between the people and the government, with no end in sight.”
Their Interim Financial Report (dated 16/03/11) reports a number of interesting things:
* Indomines remains in debt to Anglo Pacific Group, whom also apparently remain the largest shareholder of Indomines stocks. Their head offices are located at 17 Hill Street, Mayfair, London W1J 5NZ, Telephone: +44 (0) 20 7318 6360
* Indomines has appointed Outotec “to complete the process evaluation and design of the Iron Project”. This is to occur at Outotec Ausmelt, located at 12 Kitchen Road, Dandenong South (03) 9794 6200.
* Outotec also has offices located in Melbourne (72 Market St., South Melbourne), and a number of other Australian locations.
* “On 11 January 2011, the Company announced that the Bupati Kepala Daerah Kabupaten Kulon Progo (“Regional Government”) had approved the Company’s Environmental Impact Assessment scoping document (KA-ANDAL). The KA-ANDAL approval enables Indo Mines to complete the environmental and social base line measurements and engineering design required to finalise the Feasibility Study for the Jogjakarta Iron Project”
* “The planned staged development of the Jogjakarta Iron Project (“Iron Project”) continued to take shape with the Board approving the commencement of commercial trials of iron concentrate production in the first half of 2011. This decision will allow the Company to generate modest early cash flow from the Iron Project while also building its operating expertise ahead of full-scale production in mid-2012. A feasibility study assessing the potential to initially produce 2 million tonnes of iron concentrate per year from the Iron Project is scheduled for completion in June.
* “There is also further potential to produce 1 million tonnes of pig iron per year at a later date. A feasibility study for the pig iron development will be completed in the next 18 months.”
Outside of the interim report, it should be known that StoneBridge, “a staff owned boutique investment firm with over 15 years experience in the Australian public and private markets”, has been managing placements for Indomines. StoneBridge’s website boasts of being the ‘sole lead manager for IndoMines’ with a ‘A$6.5 million Placement’.

Something worth reporting happens in London, despite the hype…
“CLASS War broke out on the streets of London on Saturday, as anarchists attacked banks, shops and other symbols of the capitalism and state. A Black Bloc, at least 500 strong, roamed freely through the West End of the British capital, picking off targets at will with bricks, paintbombs and fireworks.
Sporadic cops attempts to stop the Bloc were met with robust resistance and cops were forced to retreat on more than one occasion. As riot cops belatedly caught up with the action, the Bloc made a timely re-entry into the main TUC march, where police were unwilling to follow.
The successful day of high-profile action was only marred by the uninspiring behaviour of those sheep-like protesters who failed to express any anger at all at the neoliberal assault on their communities. Splinter groups broke off from the main body of more than 250,000 demonstrators marching from Victoria Embankment to Hyde Park to launch an assault on the capital’s main shopping district. Some were hellbent on storming – or destroying – any London landmarks synonymous with luxury or money. Others targeted companies associated with tax avoidance. Hundreds laid siege to The Ritz hotel, attacking it with paint and smokebombs. A Porsche showroom was also smashed up and upmarket department store Fortnum & Mason was occupied by about 1,000 activists. On the streets outside, anarchists battled police. Some cops in Oxford Street were attacked, Other cops were hit with paint and flying bottles.”
“Autonomous action in solidarity with Bahrain uprising. Last night in Mayfair, activists attacked the offices of the multinational investment bank, First London Securities plc, damaging several of its windows.
This target was singled out for having recently acquired Bahrain Capital International plc. It was attacked by ordinary people in the UK acting in solidarity with the Bahraini people in their struggle for social and economic justice and freedom from their oppressive, Saudi-backed monarchy.
We are sickened by the brutal repression of protestors, in particular the assaults on hospitals and medical workers and reports that ambulances were used by security services to fire on Bahraini citizens.
If we see a similar response to future protests in Bahrain we will react with a sustained and uncompromising campaign against Bahraini and Saudi Royal investment companies.”
“People take different actions depending on what means they have at hand. While others may choose to picket outside an outlet involved with the publicly acknowledged theft from us all by capital, we ourselves have become a little camera-shy.
We choose our own time and place to suit our means and wish to stay free and off their files in our project to bring the tentacles and apparatus of the system and its social control to the ground. So, both the T-mobile and Vodaphone repeater towers each burned out in Hambrook and Siston Common and Longwell Green. Solidarity to anyone anywhere truly fighting for the death of the living corpse machine (not its remaking) whatever your choice of tactics.”
Fire starter brigade
The main RBS building by Bristol Temple Meads was attacked by an anarchist affinity group armed with stones and glass bottles filled with paint, breaking windows and damaging staff vehicles. RBS, which was bailed out by the government, recently paid 780 million pounds in staff bonuses for the last year, plus 7.7million pounds bonus to RBS boss Stephen Hester. The government makes its money back by clawing it from the people at the base through the implementation of austerity measures and increased living costs, people who are already pushed to their limit.
We have acted outside the dimension of the mass demo on 26th March to make the point that, although some of us also attended there with the mass of the people on the streets of London, it is certain that our attack, solidarity and struggle demand of us that we act as well in our everyday lives and not just in the moment of spectacle. If the struggle stays at a certain level (essentially lobbying for the abolition of this or that law, the granting of certain rights, the manipulation of state finance, attending an ‘event’ etc), then the struggle will remain at a grotesque and unsatisfactory citizenism, perfectly in step with capital.
This action is dedicated to all those trapped in debt and struggling against the capitalist system on these islands, and it is also for those resisting corporate onslaughts abroad. We especially refer to those fighting against the Canadian Tar Sands mining project that RBS is funding, and to the peasants and allies fighting in Kulon Progo, Indonesia, against a similar project to extract iron from their coastline sands. The peasants in Kulon Progo specifically requested and appreciate attacks such as the one made against RBS on 24th March. The Indonesian state is not known for its record in human, animal and ecological welfare. Indonesia likes to hide behind the image of pleasurable modern tourism for rich Europeans and their university back-packer sons and daughters armed with gap-year money, mobile phones and laptops, whilst the reality on the ground is very different. British arms companies and banks have helped and continue to facilitate murderous deeds and carnage there.
Finally, we will never forget about the prisoners of the social war in Greece, where a sporadically strong anti-capitalist/anti-authoritarian/anarchist struggle has been happening now for years; this is for Simos Seisidis, who has a trial on 30th March 2011. We keep him in our hearts as an unknown friend and to him we extend our hugs; this is also for those prisoners of the Revolutionary Struggle – Nikos, Pola, and Kostas; for all the prisoners of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, those who take responsibility and those who are accused; this is for ALL of the comrades there, and also ALL the dignified prisoners here in the UK who do not bow their heads, outside or inside the walls… In these times if you don’t begin fighting, you are truly lost and deserve the contempt our enemies receive.”
The use by the prison system of in-house psychologists to medicalise the personality of “difficult” prisoners and prolong their imprisonment has become wide-spread and institutionalised. Historically the involvement and collusion of prison-hired doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists in the ill-treatment and repression of prisoners has a long and infamous tradition. In the 1960s and 1970s compliant prison psychiatrists frequently and unlawfully assisted prison staff to control and subdue “unmanageable” prisoners by forcefully administering psychotropic drugs in a practice known as the “liquid cosh”. On February 15 2011, we read in some online Chilean newspaper: ‘The public prosecutor of the Caso Bombas is considering to arrest two Europeans in order to extradite them as they are considered the financiers of the Chilean anarchists involved in this case. During the hearing to discuss the detention conditions of Omar Hermosilla Marin and Vinicio Aguiera Mery (two of the 14 defendants in the case), held on Monday February 14, public prosecutor Rojas has declared that an Italian and a French are the alleged financiers of the anarchist Chilean group accused of committing at least 23 explosive attacks out of the 108 that were carried out in Santiago of Chile since 2005. According to the judiciary, the Italian deposited 900 euros in the bank account of Omar Hermosilla Marin, accused of illicit association with aim of terrorism. Moreover, according to Interpol investigators, the two Europeans travelled to Argentina on a number of occasions in order to support anti-State groups’.Read the rest of this entry »
“On Equinox night last Sunday two huge graders at Broken Cross Open Cast Coal Site in South Lanarkshire were trashed. One of them was as big as a three story building and used to load coal on to lorries, headed for railheads and power stations. Hydraulics, electrics and steel cables were cut, and anything breakable was broken. They won’t be used for a while.
This action was taken by autonomous activists in solidarity alwaysvaltrexonline.com with all those opposing corporate rule and ecological suicide, and despite ever increasing security at Scottish Coal’s mines in the area. Scottish Coal will soon be applying for three new open cast mines in the Douglas Valley, including a whole new 1 million tonne extension to Broken Cross, extending the life of the mine and its impacts on the people around it for years to come.

“In the chaos of our own existence we are a part of the imponderable element which organizes subversion, plans mutinies, that leave even ourselves dazed. The translation of texts, letters, communiqués, etc. so that comrades in other countries around the world can read about the desires and ideas and projectuality of the comrades in Greece, is one more weapon at our disposal. What began as a simple desire and a challenge, has brought us into a new field of experiences, acquaintances and responsibilities. Now that we’re here, they will not get rid of us easily.
We have become another aspect of the asymmetric threat. The war to the end, has already begun. …” From the introduction byActforfreedomnow – Bourbouras.
A huge storm of revolt raged through the streets of Greece in December 2008. After the 15 year-old Alexis Grigoropoulos was murdered in coldblood by a cop, riots spread throughout the whole country for several weeks. Hundreds of corporate and government targets were attacked, plundered and set on fire. Although it was anarchists and anti-authoritarians who took the lead in this storm during the first week after the murder, it spread itself fast and many people got involved in this revolt against miserable living conditions, against the authorities and against the hopelessness offered by this world to the exploited and oppressed. But the revolt didn’t cease at the end of 2008, neither did it start on the day of the murder. The attacks against the structures of State and Capital went on and spread to several smaller towns in Greece.
About 180 fire attacks and, since a couple of months, artisan [‘homemade’] bombing attacks were carried out under the name of ‘Conspiracy of Cells of Fire’. The attacks targeted banks, car dealers, shopping centres, governmental institutions, police stations, offices of political parties, houses of politicians, judges, criminologists, journalists, private security firms and companies building prisons,… and always accompanied by elegantly critical and nihilistic claims of anarchist responsibility.
The claims did not only criticize Capital, State and Authority (in all of their aspects), but also the resignation of the exploited, their herd mentality, their collaboration with the system. The Conspiracy of Cells of Fire (CCF) refuse to regard oppression and exploitation as simply being imposed by batons and blackmail, but understand it as a social relation in which all have their responsibility –and make or don’t make the choice to fight against it.
In September 2009 extensive anti-terror raids attempted to strike the CCF, these raids became one more political tool to attack the wider anarchist & anti-authoritarian movement, a situation which intensified when two members of the CCF were captured during an operation in November 2010, Athens. Against the ongoing legalistic kidnapping of our comrades and for the escalation of struggle for total liberation, the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire : Illegal Sector called for an informal global project based on anarchist subversion, direct action and international solidarity. These papers document some of the many communiques, letters and legal & court updates concerning the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, the accused comrades of the same case, plus solidarity actions resulting from the call for a formation of an Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front.
Whilst this publication can of course only offer a partial view upon the situation and topics, it is produced in the spirit of rebellion which fuels the total war against domination. It is an unfinished document that seeks collaboration through acts of refusal. The international call which has been circulated for the subversive formation of an International Revolutionary Front / Informal Anarchist Federation (Global), which is based on the principles of international solidarity, permanent subversion and constant conflict should be discussed, debated and acted upon without delay.

Quick translation of the suppressed news from Mexico of an explosive attack against one of the most notorious and vilified multinational corporations : Monsanto. The CARI-PGG take responsibility for attacking this biotech agribusiness giant.
Comunicado de las CELULAS AUTONOMAS DE REVOLUCION INMEDIATA / PRAXEDIS G. GUERRERO (CARI-PGG)
Claim of sending a parcel bomb to Monsanto – CARI-PGG
Monsanto is one of the world’s most powerful companies that own most patents of genetically modified corn among other patents. Monsanto for its history of existence, dating from 1901, is dedicated to destroying the planet through different ways: pollution of rivers, oceans and ecosystems through the discharge of fertilizers and agrichemicals, destruction of native cultures and their customs, privatization of Nature, poisoning the land, making it infertile, producing transgenic corn and preventing people from planting native corn anymore or Creole. Monsanto contributed to pollution, death and illness of millions of Vietnamese during the war between Vietnam and the United States. At that time 80 million liters of herbicides (chemicals) were sprayed on Vietnam, in an area of approximately 1.5 million hectares, to clear forests and facilitate the bombing of the population. Among the products to be sprayed was Agent Orange, a powerful defoliant.
These chemicals destroy forests, rice fields, entire crops, poisoned the waters and caused serious environmental damage, plus poison people and cause diseases like cancer and birth defects.
Monsanto has hired the world’s largest mercenary company “Blackwater” to spy on activists dissatisfied with their destructive activity, saying that Blackwater and Total Intelligence could infiltrate the environmental movement if it was necessary, Monsanto paid $ 127,000 Total Intelligence in 2008 and $ 105,000 in 2009.
For these and many other reasons, we have to attack this biotech company and those who remain standing.
Against these companies that threaten nature all our actions have to be as radical and powerful as the damage they perpetrate against the planet. We know that in time (or at least that’s what is wanted), the director of Monsanto Mexico and all the individuals who support this company will not sleep easy, expecting at any given night a powerful explosion will destroy their house. Ask the agents of Monsanto who has infected livestock when they discharge their toxins in the water, just ask Monsanto who has has forced thousands of peasants to sell and consume genetically modified product and those who simply refuse stripping them through repression about terrorism, ask them about their complicit governments and their paramilitaries.
We see no moral reason why we should care about these entrepreneurs and their bourgeois families, rich and powerful, who feel they own the world and feel the right to modify and manipulate life on this planet at will, justified only by having money, having ‘manners’, having cars; – to have food every day, just to throw most of it away. They have enriched themselves at our expense and cost of our families, our loved ones and our comrades in struggle, that unfortunately come into this commercialized world of work by not having many other options or alternatives.
These companies and their families, their wealth from the exploitation of nature and animals, destroy ecosystems, poisoning rivers and oceans.
An eye for eye, tooth for tooth!!!

Last night some individuals with stones and bricks smashed every window and door of McDonald’s fast-food multinational in Perintis Kemerdekaan Road, Makassar, causing damages on the front of this multinational restaurant. They left a communique that said:
“We are aware of what you multinationals have done to the people of Kulon Progo, Takalar, Bima, and other places. We are angry and we’ll do more!”
Saluton from Osaka, an western part of Japanese islands, far-east. 14:32 on 11 March 2011, a heavy earthquake (M9.0) hit to the areas of east-north (Touhoku), Ainu-moshiri (Hokkaidou), and metropolitan area. EVICTION WAVE HITS AMSTERDAM: SQUATTERS CHOOSE ATTACK INSTEAD OF DEFENSE.
This Tuesday the 22nd of March, the city of Amsterdam witnessed a huge eviction-wave.
It was the first big series of evictions after the new anti-squat law in Holland. The formerly quite tolerant attitude in Holland towards squatting has been replaced by a zero-tolerance approach to anyone taking housing rights into their own hands. Read the rest of this entry »
“Extensive damage done to four dumper trucks, two large excavators, two heavy duty bulldozers, a generator and a pump.
On Equinox night we entered the gravel and coal opencast extraction site at Castlebridge near Rosewell, Mid Lothian. The absence of security and the conveniently unlocked cabs made our night very productive. Tyres were drilled, hydraulics and electronics cut. Inside the cabs we found all sorts of expensive goodies like GPS, radios and various dials and screens to rip out and smash. The excavators had a bewildering array of electronic panels and engines the size of cars, we did what we could to immobilise these machines that destroy our health and that of the earth.
Scottish Coal will repair what was done, but hopefully at great cost.
We took this action in solidarity with the communities of the Douglas Valley who are currently resisting plans to roll out three new mines over the next couple of years. We aim to undermine the use of coal as a fuel in this country as we will always be reliant on extraction elsewhere in the world, where the damage done to environment and communities is potentially much worse.
