Over the last year there has been a strong resistance to police murder
and terror across the city of Denver. This is only the most recent surge
in resistance to police terror in our city, going back to the loss of
Paul Childs in 2003 or more recently Marvin Booker in 2010.
Denver Police have been systematically targeting and arresting those
actively involved in this organizing. Denver Community Defense
Committee, a group which has organized extensive support for families of
people murdered by police, has five of its seven members under
prosecution or known to be under investigation by the Gang Unit of DPD.
Prominent independent journalists, those with an expansive reach through
social media, have been targeted and arrested while filming the police

For more than a year, thousands of volunteer fighters have been defending the autonomous revolution of Rojava (in Northern Syria) from the Islamic State (ISIS). Since this past July the North Syrian city of Kobanê, in the central canton of the Autonomous territory of Rojava, has been under siege by ISIS. ISIS fighters, armed with modern U.S. manufactured tanks, artillery, and small arms have been held at bay by volunteer fighters affiliated with the militias of the Kurdish People’s
Protection Units (YPG) armed with dated small arms and improvised weapons.
Tens of thousands of residents of Kobanê, mostly ethnic Kurds, have been forced to flea to neighboring Turkey, made refugees in a country that has historically persecuted and oppressed them.
Hundreds of Kurdish volunteers have crossed the border from Turkey to help aid in the defense of Kobanê. Turkish soldiers and police have attacked those volunteers and observers, including international media, with teargas and batons, in attempts to seal off the border and prevent aid from reaching those struggling to hold the city against ISIS.
In response, anarchists from the Turkish anarchist organization, Revolutionary Anarchist Action (Devrimci Anarşist Faaliyet, DAF) have joined the efforts to keep the border open, as well as support those struggling in Kobanê and those made refugees from the fighting. DAF members are taking part in guarding the border against ISIS movements in and out.
Funds are urgently needed to support their work, especially to aid in the efforts to provide material aid for those who have been displaced by the conflict and forced to flee to Turkey.
We, as international allies of Devrimci Anarşist Faaliyet, call on all who see affinity with those struggling and suffering in and around Kobanê to help assist in these efforts. No amount is too small or too large. All funds raised will be sent directly to the DAF to be used as needed in their efforts.

Initial collective response to public letter of JoNina & Lorenzo "Racism at the NA ABC Conference" (USA)
Monday, September 22nd, 2014
We are writing as the crew that organized the North American ABC Conference, in response to JoNina and Lorenzo’s public letter “Racism at the NA ABC Conference.” We are nine people spread across the country, from New York to Sacramento, in conjunction with Denver ABC, and as such have a range of views on their open letter. This response is not a full statement of all of those views, or even a consensus of what things we all agree on, but rather a response required to urgently address the letter and to clarify information within it. This statement is NOT to discredit, disqualify, disregard, or fault JoNina and Lorenzo for their experience(s). The information provided is correct to the best of our account, and is provided for the purpose of transparency.
We also note that our public response to this matter is made against our preference for dealing with conflicts internal to anarchist movements. We are troubled by JoNina and Lorenzo’s decision to publish their letter on the Internet (including Facebook) in addition to sending it out over our closed listserv. We find it inappropriate to publicly handle internal matters, where anyone and everyone is privy to internal conflict, that typically makes it difficult to move forward and lends itself more to internet flame wars than revolutionary efforts to deal with oppression within our movements.
