2nd Fair of Subversive Editions
On September 25, 26, and 27, in Lisbon, the 2nd Fair of Subversive Editions will return. We want this to once again be an open space for debate and the exchange of ideas critical of this reality we wish to subvert. We continue to believe that books, magazines, periodicals, zines, music, video, and debates are still important vehicles in the assault on this society that we reject, and in the search for alternatives that free us from the relations of domination it is based on. If you participate in a publishing group, bookstore, distro of subversive and non-party material, we invite you to come and participate.
To reserve your space at the Fair of Subversive Editions contact: email@example.com

The Fennovoima Energy Company is starting to construct a nuclear power
plant in Pyhäjoki, a nice, quiet and small village in the northwest of
During the second half of April, Fennovoima cut 95 hectares of very
special coastal forest at the construction area. They didn’t wait for a
month for the legal permission to clear cut the landscape. Instead,
Fennovoima started destroying the forest on Wednesday, the 15 of April.
The forest was a home for several rare birds and other species. Nests of
endangered white-backed woodpeckers (Dendrocopos leucotos) were
destroyed, a very rare white tale eagle got disturbed as dozens of
machines demolished it´s neighborhood.

(more…)

June 8th – 21st 2015
Energy company Fennovoima intends to start building a new nuclear power plant at the ecologically valuable Hanhikivi cape in Pyhäjoki, in Northern Ostrobothnia of Finland. Join us to stop the construction of this 100 000 year lasting problem, at its beginning!
Finnish energy policy is still stuck in the centralized production mode, and attempts to provide more nuclear power as a climate friendly solution, hiding the fact that nuclear power is an enemy of more sustainable and egalitarian forms of decentralized renewables. Decentralized and horizontal production of energy is just one part of the more equal society we are aiming for. The ecological crisis, and the social crisis in general, requires us to demolish the current model of economy and build alternatives where production provides for everyone’s needs.
A struggle against one irresponsible project is part of the global struggle for conditions of life itself. In recent years, socially and ecologically destructive projects have been stopped by the political power of the people joining forces to overturn political decisions. It is time to realize that also in Finland the acts of the people can be stronger than the words of politicians in making history. (more…)

Initial collective response to public letter of JoNina & Lorenzo "Racism at the NA ABC Conference" (USA)
Monday, September 22nd, 2014
We are writing as the crew that organized the North American ABC Conference, in response to JoNina and Lorenzo’s public letter “Racism at the NA ABC Conference.” We are nine people spread across the country, from New York to Sacramento, in conjunction with Denver ABC, and as such have a range of views on their open letter. This response is not a full statement of all of those views, or even a consensus of what things we all agree on, but rather a response required to urgently address the letter and to clarify information within it. This statement is NOT to discredit, disqualify, disregard, or fault JoNina and Lorenzo for their experience(s). The information provided is correct to the best of our account, and is provided for the purpose of transparency.
We also note that our public response to this matter is made against our preference for dealing with conflicts internal to anarchist movements. We are troubled by JoNina and Lorenzo’s decision to publish their letter on the Internet (including Facebook) in addition to sending it out over our closed listserv. We find it inappropriate to publicly handle internal matters, where anyone and everyone is privy to internal conflict, that typically makes it difficult to move forward and lends itself more to internet flame wars than revolutionary efforts to deal with oppression within our movements. 'Over the Walls of Nationalisms and Wars' – Statement of participants of 8th Balkan Anarchist Bookfair (Bosnia & Herzegovina)
Monday, September 15th, 2014
It is clear that nationalism is a tool used against the exploited classes. In the Balkans, (especially in the region of ex-Yugoslavia) the rise of nationalist ideology in the 1990’s helped enable the brutal capitalist attack against society. It further atomized the population and destroyed established networks of cooperation and solidarity.
The need to confront nationalist ideology from a radical and anti-authoritarian perspective gathered us in Mostar on the 5th and 6th of September 2014, for the 8th Balkan Anarchist Bookfair. We came from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Albania, Romania, Greece and other countries outside the Balkan area.
The true nature of nationalism is nowhere more obvious then in Mostar, a city divided in two, with the signs of wartime brutality still evident in the streets of the city. (more…)

The Association for Anarchism Studies in Hiroshima decided at the ‘August 6th Gathering’ [date of the atomic-bombing in that city] this year to invite a wide range of people with an interest in anarchism from within and without Japan to the ‘August 6th Gathering’ of 2015, as it will be 70 years since the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and since Japan lost the war.
Welcoming this invitation, the Kansai anarchism studies group has decided to participate in organizing the ‘August 6th Gathering’ along with the Hiroshima anarchism research group, and would like to specifically call out to people with an interest in anarchism outside of Japan.
The Kansai anarchism studies group is accepting applications to the 2015 ‘August 6th Gathering.’ If you would like to participate please contact us by emailing the address below. We are also accepting applications from groups or individuals who are able to participate as co-organizers of this event along with us. (more…)

Program of 8th Balkan Anarchist Bookfair: Over the Walls of Nationalism
Eighth Balkan Anarchist Bookfair will take place in Mostar on 5th and 6th of September 2014 as part of Anti-Fascist festival, annual Mostar event.
We invite all anarchist/antiauthoritarian groups, individuals, publishers, initiatives and projects from Balkan (and beyond) to come and participate at BAB in discussions and meetings which will help us build solidarity networks and strong anti-nationalist and anti-capitalist movement. Mostar in many ways represent misery that is imposed on big part of Balkan through divisions created by nationalism, war and fight for power between political elites which were and still are working on destruction of all social
networks in town that go beyond these artificial “differences”. All this fits perfect to capitalist logic of “divide and rule”, since it’s used as tool for prevention of all social revolts and attempts to build up social connections that were violently broken. (more…)

On Mayday 2014 Anarchist Action Network is calling for anarchists to unite in One Common Struggle. We are calling on you to join fellow anarchists and remember the victims of the system’s oppression, take action against the symbols of the state and capitalism and hold events highlighting the need to struggle for a better world.
May Day was first celebrated as a day of international workers’ solidarity in 1890. It was called to commemorate the murder of four anarchist workers in Chicago by the US government.
On this May day in 2014 let us unite our struggles in looking back to the Anarchist origins of May Day and take action in memory of all who are dying every day at the hands of the capitalist system. Let us also remember those who have died or been imprisoned fighting it. From the Mayday Anarchists in Chicago to Carlo, the young man executed by police at the 2001 Genoa summit against the G8. Right now in the UK there is an all out assault on activists involved in the animal rights movement, one of whom was sentenced today to a 6 year prison sentence for ‘conspiring to blackmail’ Huntingdon Life Sciences. Dozens more AR activists are facing political trials in the UK as the law continues to be used to protect corporate power against public anger. For more details see here. Mayday is a time to show our solidarity against a system that kills and imprisons in order to keep us in chains. (more…)

Due to emails we received, 325 clarifies that this event has nothing to do with the British civil anarchist parasites that share the same name of the gathering. The call-out for this event came From Russia With Love, the counter-information site of new generation incendiary anarchy and global anti-civilisation attack.
This spring we invite you to our yearly forum in the wild, far away from the choking cities of yours. Everyone is invited to this sabbath. Every anti-authoritarian person, who shares the principles of equality and decentralization, who respects other people’s opinion and wants to change the order of things.
• to strengthen the bonds and coordination between activists;
• to present working libertarian projects;
• to spread successful tactics;
• to solve various issues rising up among activists and between activists
and our adversaries or passive members of society;
• to improve and support the physical fitness of activists.
This sabbath will take the form of a camp that will last from May 9th till May 11th 2014 in one of the forests of Moscow area. The exact program will be ready in one month period, and by the way, we are counting on your help on this
one. We promise to make it intense and interesting. We will try to avoid the drudgery of common-place topics of discussion that plague similar events for years. (more…)

This year NATO will have their next summit at Celtic Manor Resort, in Newport, south Wales. In early September 2014, “world leaders” – all directly responsible for untold death, illegal torture flights, and wars fought purely to protect Western business interests and resource supply routes – will gather on the edge of this historic Welsh city.
Many people from Newport, Cardiff, Bristol and beyond, will oppose the summit and use a diversity of tactics against it. We, an anti-capitalist, anti-militarist network in South Wales, plan to facilitate mobilisations and provide
space for workshops, skill-shares and social events. We are organising without leaders as we do not agree with bosses or bombs.
NATO has often used the term ‘humanitarian interventions’ to disguise the fact that it actually fights for the strategic, economic and political benefit of the elite classes within NATO member countries. Militarism and capitalism are part of the same global power structure. A critique and confrontation of capitalism is therefore an indispensable aspect of our anti-militarist stance. (more…)
