Melbourne – Attack On Commonwealth Bank Branch (Australia)

Saturday, December 24th, 2011

24 December 2011

In the early hours of the 24/12/2011 we attacked the Mountain Gate branch of the Commonwealth Bank with rocks causing some damage to windows in a small, spontaneous expression of nihilistic solidarity with our comrades fighting the state both here in Australia and all over the world.

We would like to dedicate this action to the comrades Jess and Jonathan who were arrested by the pigs and accused of the counter-attack against transit cop violence at North Melbourne railway station and to the comrades who evaded capture and are still running free. Even though we do not know you, your action filled us with much happiness and we were angered to learn of the arrests – we want you to know that you are not alone and that we also agree with your statement that it is now time to broaden the resistance here in Melbourne!

We also dedicate this action to all active anarchist cells and to all imprisoned anarchist fighters across the planet.

DESTROY CAPITAL!
DESTROY THE BANKS!
DESTROY THE STATE!

Melbourne: Counter-attack against Metpig violence (Australia)

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

On Monday afternoon [19.12.11] a young man riding an Upfield train in peak hour was pushed to extremes in order to attempt to escape the terror and punishment of Metcops and the law.

In his efforts at evading both everyday beat pigs and their Metro lackeys he was left no option but to attempt to get back onto an already moving train on Platform 2 of North Melbourne Station or face fines, embarrassment and the physical and psychological violence that inevitably presents itself every time a person is arrested or detained by the cops. We must recognise that the actions of the cops and Metpigs created this circumstance that put this man’s life in danger.

Unfortunately he was not successful at escape. (more…)

Attack on Melbourne public transport infrastructure (Australia)

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

325 receives and transmits:

14 December 2011

On Wednesday night the majority of the Sydenham line ticket and validation machines were sabotaged.

We cram ourselves into these steel tubes like sardines. Forced to endure the discomfort day after day, literally being crushed by society. The sweat, smell, and heat is unbearable. As we stand clinging to a stupid little loop, gasping for breath and shifting our weight from foot to foot aching from the tedium and muttering apologies to the fellow passengers we are crushing and suffocating, we can’t help but think of livestock packed together being transported to the slaughterhouse. Because work and consumerism is a slaughterhouse of our minds, and free will. (more…)

Melbourne – Politicians Office Smashed and Paintbombed (Australia)

Friday, October 21st, 2011

19 October 2011

Last Wednesday night we attacked the office of Australian Labour Party MP, Jenny Macklin, Minister for Indigenous affairs. We did this because the Australian government is a government of occupation and ongoing colonization of the Indigenous people of this country. Our actions are in solidarity with the Indigenous people who have been invaded, whose land has been stolen, who have been forcibly removed from their homelands, from their families, whose cultures and languages have been irreversibly damaged, and who are still experiencing ongoing waves of attacks at the hands of our colonial government, of this very office of “Indigenous Affairs”.

We also carried out this attack because as non-Indigenous citizens of this country we are coerced into a situation where we materially benefit from the colonization of Indigenous peoples. We have learnt to deny the reality of the origins of our material wealth – we are the “lucky country”. The myth of luck disguises the reality of war and occupation upon which our lives are built. We are born into a society that tells us that this colonial activity is a good thing, that it is “for us”, that it is “for them”. That capitalist, materialist culture is “good”. Is “beneficial”.

That everyone deserves the “great Australian dream” built on the spoils of colonial war. But the dream is a myth. We act because we want to break the monotony of this existence. We do not believe that material comfort is the sole quality which makes life “good”. We act because we do not believe in the cultural superiority of capitalism, and reject the missionary logic of assimilating Indigenous peoples to provide them with a “better” life. We do not believe a life based solely on consumption that is devoid of real emotion, community, individuality and joy is a “better” way of life. This society is boring. It’s empty, unfulfilling, dissatisfying. It is built on a web of lies, pain and suffering, haunted by the almost erased memories of ways of life we have lost.

We reject this culture of denial. We reject a society that is telling us that we must accept the categories given to us by society, be it either “oppressed” or “oppressor”, “colonized” or “coloniser”. We are against colonization. We are against the assimilation of the world into white supremacist capitalist culture. Everyone is resisting this system every day in countless different ways, from the seemingly insignificant like every time someone shoplifts from Woolworths, doesn’t buy a ticket on the train, turns off their tv because they’re sick of the mindless bullshit; to community walk-offs, and rioting in the streets. This is one way we are choosing to not only resist but intensify our resistance and our lives. Through this action we are reclaiming our dignity and clearly stating our refusal to be “obedient” citizens of colonial Australia.

April 11-17: International Week of Action for Jock Palfreeman (Bulgaria)

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Jock Palfreeman is a 23 year old Australian, who lived in Bristol (UK) for some time, and on the 27th of December 2007, had the courage to stand up against 16 fascist hooligans on a night out in Sofia, Bulgaria. He witnessed the fascists chasing and attacking two young Roma boys. Jock ran to the boys’ aid, he did his best to keep the fascists at bay by waving a knife at them but they attacked him. Jock was left with nowhere to run and had no choice but to defend himself. Andrey Monov, one of the racist gang, was stabbed and killed and another, Anton Zahariev was injured. The Roma boys ran away. (more…)

Position Paper by Coastal Inhabitants of Kulon Progo (Indonesia)

Monday, March 28th, 2011

Received from the PPLP-KP (Coastal Farmers Association of Kulon Progo). This is their release of a position paper in regard to the plan to mine iron from the coastal sands of Kulon Progo, Indonesia.

there is no peace without justice
and there is no justice without conscience

PPLP KP

“Since 2006, we, the coastal inhabitants of Kulon Progo Regency, have struggled to defend our Human Rights (as guaranteed by UU [Undang-Undang = regulation] No 39 of 1999), Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (as guaranteed by UU No 11 of 2005), and Right to Land (as guaranteed by UU no 5 of 1960). The presence of these rights and the prospect that they will continue into the future are under threat, due to the policies of the Kulon Progo Regency Government to mine iron sands and build a steel factory in an area which is settled by, and provides a livelihood for, its inhabitants. Just as it was known that it would, this mine has triggered a conflict between the people and the government, with no end in sight.”

* Indomines has appointed Outotec “to complete the process evaluation and design of the Iron Project”. This is to occur at Outotec Ausmelt, located at 12 Kitchen Road, Dandenong South (03) 9794 6200.

* Outotec also has offices located in Melbourne (72 Market St., South Melbourne), and a number of other Australian locations.

* “On 11 January 2011, the Company announced that the Bupati Kepala Daerah Kabupaten Kulon Progo (“Regional Government”) had approved the Company’s Environmental Impact Assessment scoping document (KA-ANDAL). The KA-ANDAL approval enables Indo Mines to complete the environmental and social base line measurements and engineering design required to finalise the Feasibility Study for the Jogjakarta Iron Project”

* “The planned staged development of the Jogjakarta Iron Project (“Iron Project”) continued to take shape with the Board approving the commencement of commercial trials of iron concentrate production in the first half of 2011. This decision will allow the Company to generate modest early cash flow from the Iron Project while also building its operating expertise ahead of full-scale production in mid-2012. A feasibility study assessing the potential to initially produce 2 million tonnes of iron concentrate per year from the Iron Project is scheduled for completion in June.

* “There is also further potential to produce 1 million tonnes of pig iron per year at a later date. A feasibility study for the pig iron development will be completed in the next 18 months.”
