A year after the last publication, a new issue of the anarchist paper Vetriolo is available. As always theoretical study, analysis of the State, dialogue with the imprisoned comrades remain central. The debate-interview with Alfredo Cospito, locked up in the prison of Ferrara, which concludes here with its third and last part, is a shining example of this.
To checkmate the King above all you need anger. You need blood in your veins. You need transcendental strength, Utopia on the horizon, parallel and contrary to the rhetoric of dominion. But you also need study. You need to think, read, analyse. You need to analyse the forces in place on the chessboard, the availability of the servants, the towers and cannons in defence of the King. You need what the handbooks call the black’s best move. We continue to do this in Vetriolo. Anger and analysis. Reflection, study, creativity.
The topic of internationalism has always been central in the hearts and heads of all of us. The hypotheses that have been put forward in the pages of the paper have stimulated debate and critique. In order to put together part of the debate this issue is coming out with a supplement: “Pagine internazionaliste” [internationalist pages]. Three pieces that as many anarchists of international origin have proposed.
– Checkmate to the King
– The Republic of the Lambs
– Without hesitation, always in solidarity. The first instance sentence in the Scripta Manent trial
– The crisis of the State and so-called Italian creativity
– I See Listen Shout
– What international? Interview and dialogue with Alfredo Cospito from the prison of Ferrara. Third part
– Against modern times
– Around illusions and words
– A sinister tale, Part Four (1982-2001)
– With our hearts and heads. Our internationalism
– At the roots of chaos. Contribution from an anarchist comrade of Iranian origin
– Independentism and anarchism. A contribution from Davide Delogu from the prison of Rossano Calabro
– A short informative report on the current situation. A contribution from Gustavo Rodriguez

Italy: Updates about some anarchist prisoners (January 2020)
We briefly summarize the latest updates on the situation of some anarchist prisoners in Italy.
On November 29, 2019 a search took place in the cell of the Sardinian anarchist Davide Delogu, imprisoned in the Rossano Calabro prison. At the same time, he was notified of the opening of an investigation for “association with the purpose of terrorism or subversion of the democratic order” (art. 270bis of Italian criminal code). Subsequently, he was returned some previously seized manuscripts. A week later, the guards informed him that a telephone had been found in the sewers of the prison and that they intended to charge him with its possession; Davide refused to be x-rayed and undressed.
We remind you that a solidarity fund has been opened for Davide Delogu, the coordinates are: Owner: Laura Gargiulo. Iban: IT27E0306967684510327514549.
This is the address of the comrade: Davide Delogu, C. R. di Rossano Calabro, Contrada Ciminata snc, 87067 Corigliano-Rossano (Cs), Italy.
For the repressive operation “Prometeo” (arrests of May 21, 2019) Natascia and Beppe remains in the prisons of Piacenza and Pavia respectively. On December 2, 2019, Robert, accused in the same operation, was released from Bancali prison, in Sardinia, without any precautionary measures. The release came following the decision of the court of review after the cassation, in October, had annulled the order of pre-trial detention for lack of “serious indications of guilt”. The appeal in cassation had been requested for Robert and Beppe, but for the latter it was rejected. Recently, the public prosecutor in turn lodged an appeal in cassation opposing Robert’s release; the hearing has been set for February 4, 2020. The “Prometeo” investigation is still open. The censorship in the correspondence of Natascia has been removed. (more…)
Prison of Rossano Calabro, Italia: Report of the talk with the deported Sardinian imprisoned anarchist Davide Delogu
Saturday, October 26th, 2019
After months of struggles by Davide (followed by 3 complaints and months of isolation) we were able to get a talk authorized. During the talk Davide confirmed that the punitive transfer to the prison of Rossano Calabro, where he is now imprisoned, is due precisely to these complaints (in total he has 15 for his struggles in prisons and especially in the Sicilian isolation).
He is keen to let us know the condition we live in Rossano, where detainees punished from all over Italy are imprisoned and in his section many have made the 14 bis [particular prison surveillance measure, in which a form of isolation is applied to the prisoner; not to be confused with the detention regime in 41 bis] and even long sentences. David still has 2 years of disciplinary isolation, but they prefer not to have them start in this prison because they know of his file and David’s previous struggles in isolation.

The anarchist Sardinian comrade Davide Delogu was transferred from the Augusta prison (province of Syracuse, in Sicily) to that of Rossano Calabro (province of Cosenza, in Calabria). The address to which letters, telegrams, books, etc., can be sent is as follows:
c/o Casa di Reclusione di Rossano Calabro
Strada Statale 106 Jonica n. 32
87067 Corigliano-Rossano (Cosenza)
From 11.03.2019 and during the month of March the comrade was on a hunger strike because the new director of the Augusta prison (Angela Lantieri) who had just arrived had immediately revoked the meeting permit that Davide makes with a Sardinian comrade (the only meeting he can currently do). He had also accompanied the strike with missed returns in the cell varying between 30 and 60 minutes and daily keystrokes in the cell.
Solidarity with anarchist Davide Delogu!
Sunday, November 26th, 2017
From Davide’s weekly phone call with his relatives, we learn that:
Davide will continue the long-term hunger strike, started on November 4, until his total solitary confinement, by article 14bis, is revoked.
Our comrade calls on everyone for direct solidarity.
He strengths his closeness to comrades in AS2 [high-security prison sections].
He has repeatedly stressed the need for a revolutionary solidarity.
He is in high spirits, but he has already lost 13 kilos [28 lb].

Appeal for solidarity against the punitive isolation of anarchist prisoner Davide Delogu
On July 18, a hearing was held at the Cagliari Court of Appeal for a complaint made by Davide against the conditions that he is being subjected to at the prison of Augusta.
Via the details of the complaint we learned that Davide, who is already subjected to the Article 41-bis prison regime, is undergoing a very extreme torture, he was ‘sentenced’ to six months of punitive isolation.
Complete isolation, in an underground cell, no TV or radio, no contact with other prisoners and without ever seeing the sun. In addition to this his correspondence is subject to censorship. The only people he ever sees are the guards and his lawyer.
Unfortunately we have only just learned that he has been living under these conditions for two months now. (more…)

The trial against Davide, due on 9th March in the court of Cagliari, was postponed to 17th May. Davide is accused of attempted escape from the prison of Buoncamminno.
«… dreams are to be made true here in the present time and not in a hypothetical future, given that the future has always been sold by the priests of all religions and ideologies so that they could steal from us with impunity. We want a present time that is worth living and not simply sacrificed to a messianic wait for the future Eden. For this reason we wanted to talk concretely about anarchy to be realized now, not tomorrow. The “everything now” is a bet, a game we play and whose stake is our life, everyone’s life, our death, everyone’s death…» Pierleone Mario Porcu
We know people… quiet and loquacious, shy and bold, humble and arrogant people…
People who live obedient like sheet, and others who don’t hide themselves in betrayal, they look into your eyes and stay always side by side no matter what. We know people who dream without imagination and live without dreaming, people whose eyes are used to stare below and whose ears are used to take orders such as “wake up”, “work”, “pay”, “buy”, “believe” , “respect”…
We know many people alone in the crowd, patiently waiting for an answer to their prayers till the end of their lives, for an eternal tomorrow, for better days, for a bright future.
But those who wait for a better life tomorrow are already dead today.
We know many individuals but only few of them are our comrades. Indomitable and unrepentant anarchists are shouting “a slow death or else the anarchist struggle here and now!”
And we are shouting with them, this is the only path of struggle we think worth the joy to take.
We’ve chosen to be there, to be on their side. We know our words don’t speak to the many, but we’d like them to cut like blades today, and to burn the bridges with the past in the concreteness required by action. (more…)
