From ABC Mexico:
The prison, like the police, is a fact necessary to the maintenance of social peace. It is the domination and control that allow this filthy world to be maintained. Jail means fear, uncertainty, shame, loneliness and isolation. Society trains individuals to be good citizens. My strength as an individual takes root in fear rejection could be a limit on my life. Of course, I have fear, like everybody, of many things, but my desire for freedom are larger. Fear is often built and can be destroyed when confronted. What matters is to look beyond, to exceed the limits, boundaries, beyond the walls, mountains, rivers and oceans.
Solidarity with our imprisoned comrades must be a constant and permanent activity without waiting dates marked on the calendar. However, it is also important to carry out solidarity activities in a coordinated manner between different groups. In that sense it was convened to conduct solidarity actions from 23 to 30 August, not with the idea of centralizing solidarity, but rather to strengthen ties and collaborations internationally.
In Mexico City the call was well received among anarchist groups and individuals. Forums, events in public places, leafleting, radio transmission, an anti-prison critical-mass, placing banners. This is a brief chronicle. (more…)

There are demos taking place against the NATO summit in Wales, here is the Indymedia UK link where many photos are being uploaded by activists. There were not many people attending the demos but anarchists attended, as did communists in a Red Block.

Nazi squat ‘Ramiro Ledesma’ in Madrid burned and painted with slogan-threat. Call today 30th August at 18:00 for antifascist action. Fire was set at the door of the fascist social centre and a slogan written “Get out of our neighborhoods” on the facade. The industrial building was ‘squatted’ early last week by a group of Nazi-Fascist “Republican Social Movement” (MSR), in the district of Tetuan, Madrid, named ‘Ramiro Ledesma’, and it suffered an assault in the early hours of yesterday.

From Cardiff to Gaza – tear down their barrier!
In preparation for the NATO summit, the authorities have put a giant fucking wall around parts of Cardiff and Newport. Local people do not want this wall – it prevents access to public grounds and services, disrupts essential travel and is an ugly visible reminder of the increasingly militarised zone that Cardiff and Newport have become in advance of this Summit.
Whilst they are in no way equivalent, we are mindful of the daily plight of the Palestinian people, hemmed in by giant walls that prevent them from accessing sufficient provisions, medical care or shelter from the prolific murderous Israeli attacks that have recently claimed thousands of lives.
We stand against all those states and corporations which would seek to profit from human misery, division and securitisation.
Meet us on Sunday, 31th August, at 3pm at the Nye Bevan statue in Cardiff (west end of Queen Street, opposite the castle) to make our feelings known.
Bring Palestinian flags and banners.
Stop NATO week of action: 30th Aug – 5th Sep
Fri 29th Aug: Help set up the camp.
Sat 30th Aug: Radical bloc will join demo against NATO in Newport.

As part of our coverage of the anti-NATO initiative in UK, we spread this report:
On the morning of Friday, July 25th, supporters of Stop NATO Cymru took action in London and Cardiff, locking themselves to the front doors of missile developer MBDA, occupying the HQ of arms company Airbus Group and closing the Armed Forces Careers Centre in Cardiff by occupying the roof. This was part of an ongoing anti-militarist campaign in the run up to September’s NATO Summit in Newport, targeting all institutions which perpetuate violence on a global scale.
MBDA is jointly owned by arms companies Airbus Group (37.5%), BAE Systems (37.5%) and Finmecanica (25%), companies guilty of providing arms used by Israel to bombard communities, demolish hospitals and murder innocent children in schools. Palestinian solidarity activists stood with us against these monsters, with Israel having used British bombs on playing children, family homes, schools, independent journalists, rescue vehicles and hospitals in the last week alone.
In solidarity with Stop NATO Cymru, anti-miltarist activists from Stop the Arms Fair entered the lobby and picketed the entrance to the London HQ of Airbus Group (aka EADS). Airbus Group is a major profiteer of war. They manufacture jets, drones (including some with nuclear warheads) and surveillance technology. They are the second largest arms producer in Europe, with investments in authoritarian regimes such as Saudi Arabia, UAE and Kazakhstan. Airbus has recently announced new contracts worth £50mil, and have urged the arms industry to take ‘full economic advantage’ of the NATO Summit. The summit is an opportunity for them to showcase their killing machines and blood-stained business through NATO procurement. Stop NATO Cymru opposes the NATO war machine, arms production and the murder of anyone for corporate profit.
Earlier this month the British Army launched a recruitment drive entitled ‘More Than Meets the Eye’, aiming to dispel myths surrounding life in the forces, boost their falling recruitment figures and secure the flow of “a new stream of young blood” as head of recruiting, Major General Chris Tickell, so aptly put it.
They are right about one thing, there is more to life in the army than meets our eyes – more to what the media, charities and the state show of the idealised soldier. Waves of forced redundancies are leaving thousands unemployed, many of them young people, promised adventure and reward at the recruiting office before being spat into the jobcentre, often injured, with thousands wounded over the last decade.
Even those who keep their job are constantly exploited by the state. The fact is that every individual within the armed forces – from the musician to the infantryman – is part of an effort to further the state’s expansionist agenda. In Afghanistan, war for oil saw the deaths of almost 4,000 coalition troops and an estimated 20,000 Afghan civilians killed to bring NATO’s version of democracy to the Afghan people. Now we see conflict flaring in Ukraine, with British companies having armed the Russian dictatorship, America throwing its weight behind a neo-Nazi backed government and the people of Ukraine and the world suffering the consequences.
We took action to show that we will not stand by and watch ordinary people suffer in the wars of the wealthy. We are anti-militarist, opposed to states, their armies and the world that creates them. When NATO brings its circus to Newport in September, we will make our feelings known.
NATO is the militarist juggernaut that encourages military spending in times of austerity, stokes the flames of conflict in places like Ukraine and represents the armed wing of capitalist exploitation. In spite of the power behind NATO – and all militarist institutions in a world of government by violence – we will keep up our fight on the streets, doing all that we can to bring change, until every gun is cold, every bomb is dead and every cage is empty.

Stop NATO Cymru is a group initiated by local activists to mobilise against the NATO summit. Stop NATO Cymru joined with the Anarchist Action Network as a group with the same fundamental principles and as a group with the experience and skills gained from the anti-G8 mobilisation in 2013. These principles are based on the PGA Hallmarks, we are overtly anarchist and support a diversity of tactics.
The Anarchist Action Network is working with Stop NATO Cymru to mobilise against the forthcoming NATO summit. This is the last National Convergence before the summit – come and join the mobilisation!

The street sign of „FIFA-Strasse“, which was disassembled at the
manifestation at 14 June in front of the head office of FIFA in Zurich, was passed us on today.
In solidarity with all struggles against and around the World Cup in Brasil we fight against the capitalistic exploitation of football through FIFA and the other exponents of capital.
In Greece the capital punishment is now called Prison Type C.
“We fight and resist for our dignity”, wrote the fighting prisoners, which are in hunger strike since monday, 23.06.2014.
Our solidarity shall also be a weapon in this struggle!
International solidarity is our arme!

On Saturday a group of Polish neo-Nazis from the group Zjednoczeni Emigranci (ZE – United Immigrants) attacked the small ‘Music Day’ festival in Markfield Park in Tottenham, North London assaulting a Jewish man and stabbing another Polish man. This pre-planned and unprovoked attack on a family music festival was carried out by a group of about 40 fascists and involved throwing glass bottles, stones and flares. Several other people were injured.
The individual who was stabbed purely through luck suffered only superficial injuries. One member of ZE has been arrested for religiously aggravated common assault in connection with the assault against a Jewish man.
After the end of the leftist ineffective & passive UAF rally, a group of around 100 led by the Polish anti-fascist group Dywizjon 161 marched up Tottenham High Road to Markfield Park and removed ZE graffiti and stickers throughout the area, replacing it with anti-fascist stickers and messages. Chronology of Resistance in Rembang City, Jawa Tengah: Street and community conflict against military & police in struggle against the construction of a cement factory (Indonesia)
Wednesday, June 25th, 2014
This is a news report from one of our comrades in Rembang City, Jawa Tengah.
People in Rembang City in Jawa Tengah, Indonesia make a protest because the company PT. Semen Indonesia will build a factory in Rembang City. Why the farmers and people protest to that capitalism is because Jaringan Masyarakat peduli Pegunungan Kendeng (JMPPK) and Semarang Caver Association [farming and local community groups in Rembang City] found 109 springs, fountains or wells, as well as 49 caves and 4 underground rivers that make a great amount of pure water there.
And this is different news from Analisa Dampak Lingkungan (AMDAL) which is an organisation, or an ‘Non-Government Organisation’ that is a bullshit organisation that belongs to the government and PT. Semen Indonesia. They say they only found 20 fountains.
If PT. Semen Indonesia still make their factory and cement production in Rembang City, it will destroy nature and the water supply in Rembang City, because that water is directly produced from Watuputih mountain.
That’s why we must boycott PT. Semen Indonesia and AMDAL.
Feed the fire… burn baby burn….!!!! (more…)

(more…)

As part of our coverage of anti-NATO events this year in UK, we reproduce this report:
The campaigners formed a Radical Bloc on the Trades Council-organised May Day march, breaking from the main route to take action against the bank instead of going to listen to speeches by union officials at the Trades Council’s rally.
A local anarchist and member of the Stop NATO Cymru campaign group said: “We took part in the May Day march to draw attention to the struggles of workers all over the world against exploitation and violent oppression which is exacerbated by arms producers here in the UK. (more…)

On Mayday 2014 Anarchist Action Network is calling for anarchists to unite in One Common Struggle. We are calling on you to join fellow anarchists and remember the victims of the system’s oppression, take action against the symbols of the state and capitalism and hold events highlighting the need to struggle for a better world.
May Day was first celebrated as a day of international workers’ solidarity in 1890. It was called to commemorate the murder of four anarchist workers in Chicago by the US government.
On this May day in 2014 let us unite our struggles in looking back to the Anarchist origins of May Day and take action in memory of all who are dying every day at the hands of the capitalist system. Let us also remember those who have died or been imprisoned fighting it. From the Mayday Anarchists in Chicago to Carlo, the young man executed by police at the 2001 Genoa summit against the G8. Right now in the UK there is an all out assault on activists involved in the animal rights movement, one of whom was sentenced today to a 6 year prison sentence for ‘conspiring to blackmail’ Huntingdon Life Sciences. Dozens more AR activists are facing political trials in the UK as the law continues to be used to protect corporate power against public anger. For more details see here. Mayday is a time to show our solidarity against a system that kills and imprisons in order to keep us in chains. (more…)

A Call from the Destroika for a Fantastic Convergence of Resistance
From issue-less “days of action” to inconsequential general strikes, the recent struggles in Greece, Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal invariably seem to stumble over the limit of their own national frame of reference. The standpoint of the nation, long considered synonymous with political activity per se, be it that of the State or one or another revolutionary party, has revealed itself as being the very scale of our own collective powerlessness. It is this powerlessness, turned against itself, that fuels the fire of so many nationalist resentments. (more…)
Mobilisations outside and inside the prisons against the murder of Ilia Kareli and the new Type C prison plans (Greece)
Wednesday, April 9th, 2014
Footage from these moments:
A big mobilization has started since last month in almost all by now Greek prisons. The mobilization is a reaction for the new law about the maximum security type C prisons. Meanwhile an inmate named Ilia Kareli killed a guard with a knife and the guards in different prisons along with the police tortured him and killed him. So the mobilization acts also in honour with Kareli’s murder and is continuing the struggle. We also send some photos from the A wing of Koridallos prisons (Athens) in an act of honour of Ilia Kareli’s death.
The slogans say “we never forget, we never forgive” “fire to the prisons bombs to the courthouses” “if not now when?” There is also a video of slogans that were shouted at our refusal as prisoners of the A wing and the female wing to get in the prison from the prison yard for 1 hour after the normal yard lock down.
Here are some banners from the women’s prison of Koridallos during the protest of around 1000 people outside the prison against the new maximum security type c prisons.
Also some slogans written during the protest at Domokos prisons saying “rage and consciousness” “against the Greek Guantanamo” “knives in the prison guards” and “viva la fai/irf” Also at the Domokos prison protest there was some clashes between anarchists and cops. (more…)
