*NEITHER HOLIDAYS – NOR UNIVERSITY EXAMS*
*FIRE TO PRISONS*
“I stand here as your declared and unrepentant enemy, I do not beg for
your lenience, I do not seek to engage in dialogue with you and your
peers. My values are at war with yours, so that every phrase I come out
with against you is a razor scoring the masks of your hypocrisy and
making clear the position and the role of each of us. You redact
hundreds of pages of files and you constantly form new cases, in order
to bury us in the prisons of your democracy, for decades. You are
preparing to impose “special detention conditions” on us, which is the
only coup missing from the pantheon of “special treatment” (prison
transfers, trials, laws), which you create to fight us. The simple laws
of physics dictate, that reaction is the consequence of action. Outside
this courtroom on free lands, there are rebelious people, comrades for
me, terrorists for you, who don’t intend to tolerate our extermination,
without making you and your political supervisors bleed first. You can
take this as a threat if you like. I believe, that this is the cynical
reality. Each option has its own cost. I guess, that, as judges and
servants of the law, you would agree with me on this.”
Fragment of the statement at the trial for the robbery in Velvento, Kozani
In the frenetic and ever changing social reality that surrounds us, even
the scientific consultants of the bellwethers of the capitalist system
fall out in their predictions. In addition to the individual
geostrategic choices of their peer competitors (Palestine, Syria,
Ukraine, Iran, etc.) and some flaws and contradictions of the system
that appear to be sharpened during the (because of this) exacerbated
condition of the ongoing structural crisis, that which crumples the
fragile humanitarian masks of statists and refutes, constantly, every
certainty about the future, every myth concerning the omnipotence of the
state and any idea about the futility of the liberation struggle, is the
imponderable factor of the insurgents of this world.
The ‘europeanisation’ of the Greek prison system, the aggravating penal
repression of social struggles, the escalation of counter-terrorism
policy dictated by interstate police conferences about Justice and
National Security, the bounty on the heads of revolutionaries and the
recent legal establishment and announcement of the construction of a
high security prison (type C) in Domokos, that aims primarily at
prisoners involved in cases of armed revolutionary action, are all
“signs of the times” and expressions of class domination of the vast
majority of formal and informal social institutions controlled by the
State and Capital. The global and multi-level, capitalist and cultural
restructuring attempted, with the economic crisis as pretext and means,
requires social “peace”, mass vassalage, individualization and above all
annihilation of “internal enemies”.
There are, however, times when the analyzes are redundant, rage and
hatred for the established order become a stream that threatens to drown
not only the usurpers of our lives but also every indolent, hypocritical
challenger and inactive, indignant humanist. There are no excuses! We
are constantly looking for ways to escape the grid of imposition of
domination and strive to reclaim moments of an – in advance – alienated
life, deregulating and seeking to dismantle the clocks of the social
machine, while maintaining an open bet of anarchist revolution and total
rupture with the regime.
The imprisoned anarchist urban guerrilla Nikos Romanos, friend of
Alexandros Grigoropoulos, who was present at his murder by the uniformed
worm Korkoneas, is one of the dozens of anarchist prisoners of war of
the Hellenic Republic, who in recent years have faced the inquisitors of
the judicial mafia and the special treatment reserved for political
enemies of the system, and who boldly defended the project and the
values of Anarchy, taking responsibility and having the costs of certain
choices stemmed from them, regardless of the jumble of prosecutions
against them and the harsh conditions of incarceration, that have
implications on their physical existence and freedom.
Since 1st February ’13 when he was arrested after a car chase following
the double expropriation of state money along with his comrades
G.Mihailidis, A-D.Bourzoukos and D.Politis in the city of Veria and the
province of Kozani, comrade Romanos, a member of the Informal Anarchist
Federation, is now among those anarchist prisoners who found themselves,
and among other people “accused” for participating in armed
revolutionary groups, temporarily in Greek prisons for bank robberies,
which were chosen as a means of disengagement from the established,
time-consuming living solution of wage slavery and of the strengthening
of the urban guerrilla warfare.
From the juvenile prison of Avlona, he participated in the national
exams and he is now considered – by law – as a student at TEI of Athens
and he is entitled to prison leaves in order to attend the courses,
which the State refuses to grant him. (A similar example is the case of
political prisoner Hercules Kostaris, convicted for involvement in the
Revolutionary Organization 17 November, who has taken over 200 regular
and educational prison leaves in recent years, which were stopped on
the pretext of the runaway of Christodoulos Ksiros). Not having any
illusions about the institution of education as a tool of subjugation
and domestication of people in the hands of Domination and the role of
the university as a factory that produces docile slaves in the service
of the capitalist profitability and normality, our comrade, who is now
in Korydallos prison refusing to unravel the maypole of the
responsibilities of the prison council and the special interrogator
Nikopoulos, is on a hunger strike since November 10th demanding the
granting of his “right”, for a breath of freedom!
Factual solidarity and support in this difficult struggle have already
been expressed by the others “arrested for Velvedo case” also with a
hunger strike inside the walls. At the same time, a broad, diverse
solidarity movement has developed throughout the Greek territory, while
public propaganda moves and nocturnal “interventions” are made abroad.
Remembering the axiom of uncertainty in the natural world and rejecting
the classical, deterministic conception of the proletarian onslaught at
the sky, the centralized organization models of the Struggle and
optimistic estimates of a shallow, reformist, idealism of “maturation of
the objective conditions”, we are there where ideologies impact on the
brutal reality; where the existential rebellion is combined with
horizontal and autonomous class struggle with internationalist and
anti-state character, as it is manifested in each specific
circumstances, becomes an integral part of the social war and seeks to
place anarchist characteristics for the war against Authority and the
liberation of Man and Nature; there where our conventions and
contradictions in everyday life do not prevent us from seeing the
tactical utility and to recognize the partiality of “intermediate
struggles” and the necessity of organizing the anarchist struggle as a
whole, individually and collectively; where only those who were
imprisoned, tortured or killed for devoting themselves to the project of
social liberation, without bowing their heads, can perceive the nobility
of soul and motivation in all its glory; where the consolidation of fear
as a permanent emotional state does not find fertile ground and its
every germ is forcibly uprooted as a parasite that sucks the evergreen
tree of the Revolution; where, at present, the theory meets practice and
any trace of doubt regarding answer to the dilemma of the Selection of a
submissive life or a life in Battle is nullified in front of the rise of
anarchist conscience; we are at the point of no return …
We are inspired by the shooting stars and the fortitude of the people
who fought with the Beast. By night embracing us we swoop in hostile
grounds, creating oases of fire within the social desert. So, in the
morning of 1/12, we torched a school bus owned by St. Lawrence College
in Ag. Dimitrios. Also, we claim responsibility for the attack with gas
canisters, shortly after midnight on 6/12, against a car owned by the
construction company Aktor Facility Management (subsidiary of ELLAKTOR
group, known for its involvement in mining gold in Skouries, Halkidiki
and several cases of pillaging of the natural environment). The attacks

Following 31 days of a tough and tenacious struggle, I end my hunger strike, having scored an important victory. The amendment voted in Parliament with me its single recipient, had important differences to the initial proclamation of the Minister of Justice, eventually meeting my demands – even if this involves me “wearing an electronic bracelet”.
The only thing certain is that this victory was an outcome of the political pressure applied for it by the people in struggle and Combative Anarchy are indisputably the great moral, political and practical victors. The multiform revolutionary struggle and us, as political prisoners, resurface from this struggle stronger than before.
I raise my fist, sending the warmest regards and my unlimited love to all those comrades who stood by my side.
BY ALL MEANS!
SOLIDARITY TO POLITICAL PRISONERS
LONG LIVE ANARCHY
PS: A detailed text will follow in the days to come.
PS2: I would like to also thank the hospital doctors who refused to bow to the pressure by the attorney regarding my forced feeding, and who supported me to the possible extent.

Nikos Romanos has ended his hunger strike after 31 days struggle to study outside the prison.
The comrade will be compelled to wear an electronic tag to control his movements.
Solidarity with all the fighting prisoners and ones in the streets – The flame still burns!

Nikos Romanos has been a prisoner of the State since the dual expropriation of a bank and an ELTA post office in Velventos, Kozani on 02.01.2013.
The action is part of a polymorphous anarchist struggle against those responsible for the looting imposed upon society as a whole by the State and capital.
The political choices and struggle of Nikos Romanos follows the uprising of December 2008. He strives for a world without power, exploitation and bosses.
The struggle of the prisoner on hunger strike for a breath of freedom and against the brutality of confinement and the intensification of punitive repression (termination and refusal of licenses, generalization of the isolation status, type C prisons) alongside the struggle of all the oppressed against repression and the plundering of their lives.
The doctor monitoring the comrade revealed that Nikos has been examined by a psychiatrist, who diagnosed that he is not mentally ill and has no suicidal tendencies. Therefore there is no need for him to receive psychotropic drugs or to be force fed. Even the doctor had difficulty in gaining access to the hospital, despite having repeatedly certified that she is the personal doctor of Nikos Romanos.

Today, with all the rage against powers that seizes lives, with the conviction of a free world, black flags are being waved all around the world.
Against companies that exploit our labour for more profit; against States that murder many of us in the name of the borders they have drawn up; against all powers that fill their pockets with our lives that they destroy, making us poorer and making the rich richer; rebellion is alive in the rage of anarchism.
The rage against bosses, companies, murderers and States, is propagating in full flood with black flags. The sorrow of being disappeared and murdered is now turning into anger, and the streets are burning with rage all over. (more…)

Act for freedom now! receives:
Sunday night, November 30th 2014 we burned 5 ATMs, as a minimal gesture of solidarity with anarchist Nikos Romanos, on hunger strike since November 10:
– One of the Banco Nacional in Aghias Sofis street, in Vyronas district.
– One of Alphabank between Karaoli and Dimitriou streets, in Vyronas district.
– One of the Banco Nacional in Varnva Square, in Pagrati district.
– One of the Banco Nacional in via Formionos, in Pagrati district.
– One of Alphabank in Kaisariani district.
This was just a warning. In the case of our comrade’s demand not being fulfilled, all of you will become targets.
The struggle continues.
Strength to the hunger strikers Nikos Romanos, Yannis Michailids, Andreas-Bourzoukos Dimitris and Dimitris Politis.

Piraeus: Open letter of hospitalized comrade Yannis Michailidis, on hunger strike since November 17th (Greece)
Friday, December 5th, 2014
I write these lines to express how much I was touched by the widespread and polymorphous solidarity activity of comrades outside the prison walls.
Not only because its extent, imaginativeness, organizing-coordinating, tenacity and aggressiveness so far have surpassed all my expectations, knowing that significant state and capitalist buildings, and radio and television stations have been occupied, organized gatherings and demonstrations have taken place in almost all major cities of the territory, and attacks on the forces of repression as well as all kinds of insurgency attacks have occurred. But also because this is what breaks the solitude of my cell and makes me smile, because I was not imprisoned on Tuesday night, I was among you and felt the warmth of flaming barricades. (more…)
Athens: Request of anarchist prisoner Nikos Romanos denied a second time; the comrade continues his hunger strike (Greece)
Friday, December 5th, 2014
On the night of December 2nd, 2014, it was confirmed that the request of anarchist prisoner Nikos Romanos – who has now entered the 24th day of hunger strike – was denied a second time. In particular, he had filed an appeal against the denial of special judge Eftichis Nikopoulos to grant him educational furloughs, whose decision was eagerly approved by the Koridallos prison board. The comrade’s appeal was dismissed in Piraeus courts by the competent judicial council.
On December 3rd, Nikos released an open letter from the hospital stating he will fight till the end. The comrade dismissed a proposal to attend distance learning classes, or worse yet video conference courses inside prison walls, and persisted in his demand for a few breaths of freedom. (more…)

At noon on Wednesday 26 November, in the barricades and Molotov cocktails that gave life to a new day of anarchic violence and confrontation with law enforcement officers in the so called “Cordón Macul” at the “Grecia Avenue”, one of the groups participating in the action expressed with a banner, screams and pamphlets, our solidarity
with anarchist comrade Nikos Romanos, on hunger strike in Greek prisons for a breath of freedom.
We send our strength to Nikos for his decision to fight putting his own body and integrity as an obstacle to the plans of power.

Call for a Black December!
On November 28th, comrades in Santiago decided to attack a public transport line with the purpose of calling for a Black December in memory of Sebastián Oversluij, anarchist killed in December 2013 during a failed bank expropriation. This action was also intended to express solidarity with imprisoned compañera Tamara Sol Farías Vergara, as well as other fighters prosecuted, incarcerated or fallen in combat. Once the public transport bus was engulfed in flames, they threw pyrotechnics to make their rage and rebellion flash more forcefully. “(…) We call for a Black December in memory of comrade Sebastian Oversluij. Solidarity with Tamara Sol Vergara. Hans Niemeyer, Mónica Caballero and Francisco Solar to the streets! Strength to comrade Nikos Romanos. An affectionate embrace to the comrades who attacked the PDI. Mauricio Morales and Sebastian Oversluij present!”
On November 26th, comrades carried out a direct action outside the Juan Gómez Millas campus in Santiago, erecting street barricades and blocking the traffic for almost an hour. A young student, who had nothing to do with the action, was arrested by cops. An anonymous communiqué mentions among others: “(…) May our ideals live in everyday and violent action. A salute to the combatants: Juan Aliste Vega, Marcelo Villarroel, Freddy Fuentevilla, Carlos Quiduleo, Juan Flores, Nataly Casanova, Guillermo Duran, Alejandro Astorga, Sol Vergara and all prisoners in the territory occupied by the State of Chile, as well as to Mónica Caballero and Francisco Solar, to the prisoners of Mexico, Indonesia, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, to Nikos Romanos and Yannis Michailidis, both on hunger strike demonstrating that the anti-authoritarian struggle does not end in prison, but another breach opens from there, other means to keep blowing out the existent. Also all our love and memory to our comrades who have fallen in combat Claudia Lopez, Jhony Cariqueo, Mauricio Morales, Sebastian Oversluij, Jorge Saldivia, the latter two brothers killed in bank robberies. All our loving remembrance will always take the form of fire and war against every authority. Long live anarchy.”
The FAI Torches in the Night/Earth Liberation Front claimed responsibility for burning a vehicle in the service of the French multinational GDF Suez on November 25th in the Long Ashton area, Bristol (England), where they also torched an audacious 4×4, two luxury sports cars and a vehicle of OCS, one of the top security companies in the UK, in revenge for Rémi Fraisse, the nuclear industry, the prison society and the Green Capital: “(…) Against class society and industrial development, even and especially the green-washed ones – Victory for ZAD/Testet and ZAD/Notre-Dames-des-Landes – Victory to the rotating hunger strike in the Greek prison system (in support of our FAI confederate Nikos Romanos) and all prisoners at war with the prison.”
In the early hours of November 30th, a mini-riot broke out in the neighbourhood of Exarchia, Athens, including Molotov cocktail attacks against anti-riot squadrons, flaming barricades, and smashing of luxury cars, while slogans in solidarity with anarchist hunger striker Nikos Romanos were being chanted loudly in the streets.
At approximately the same nighttime, in the city of Thessaloniki, a group of individuals reportedly launched Molotov cocktails at the cops guarding the Turkish consulate.
Late on November 29th, a group of anarchists attacked a police station in Volos with stones and paint, shouting slogans in solidarity with Nikos Romanos.
On November 29th, a group of comrades sabotaged a scheduled meeting of the minister of Public Order Vassilis Kikilias with mainstream media thugs in Patras. The anarchist intervention took place outside the offices of a local newspaper, in solidarity with the hunger strikers Nikos Romanos and Yannis Michailidis. The cops were caught completely off guard, and hurried the minister away from there. One of the shouts was: “Nikos Romanos, we’re with you; as for you, Kikilias: go fuck yourself!”
At daybreak of November 29th, the offices of the Legal Council of the State in Heraklion, on Crete, were attacked in solidarity with anarchists Nikos Romanos and Yannis Michailidis, both on hunger strike since 10/11 and 17/11 respectively. The front door and first-floor windows were broken, and paint was thrown inside and outside the building.
In a display of solidarity with anarchist hunger strikers Nikos Romanos and Yannis Michailidis, a bank ATM was torched in downtown Athens on 23/11 and a branch of the Hellenic Post was explosively attacked on 27/11 in Pefki (the Athens neighbourhood where Theofilos Mavropoulos was seriously wounded and arrested in May 2011, after a shootout with two patrol officers, when Yannis Michailidis managed to get away driving the patrol car of the same cops).
In the night towards November 26th, anarchists vandalized ATMs with glue in the city of Ioannina, in solidarity with the hunger strikers Nikos Romanos, Yannis Michailidis and Iraklis Kostaris (the latter conducted a hunger strike from 29/10 until 28/11, when his request was denied).
In the early hours of November 26th, bank ATMs were doused in gasoline and set on fire in Nea Smyrni, Athens, as a token of incendiary solidarity with anarchist comrades Nikos Romanos and Yannis Michailidis.
In another communiqué, arsonists claimed responsibility for a string of attacks (ATMs and vehicles torched) in nine different districts of Athens, in solidarity with anarchist hunger striker Nikos Romanos.
On November 26th, at midday, the scumbag lawyer Alexis Kougias, who defended the cops that murdered Alexis Grigoropoulos, was assaulted when spotted in the Athens neighbourhood of Exarchia. This (random) attack was dedicated to Nikos Romanos – friend of slain Grigoropoulos, who witnessed the killing in December 2008 – and Yannis Michailidis.
On November 23rd, comrades in Thessaloniki went on the offensive, and placed a homemade explosive device consisting of gas canisters at the house of police unionist Dimitris Padiotis (president of the Thessaloniki Police Officers Union), located in the area of Kastra. They claimed this action in support of captive anarchist Nikos Romanos, on hunger strike as of 10/11, making also mention of the ongoing solidarity hunger strike of anarchist prisoner Yannis Michailidis (since 17/11), and imprisoned 17N member Iraklis Kostaris.
On November 19th, the local offices of the main ruling party Nea Dimokratia in the Athens district of Ambelokipi (situated between the Greek police headquarters and the Ambelokipi police station) were attacked in a display of “loud” solidarity with Nikos Romanos, Iraklis Kostaris and Yannis Michailidis.
On November 17th, a security company vehicle was burned in the area of Metamorfosi, Athens, in solidarity with Nikos Romanos, Iraklis Kostaris and Yannis Michailidis.
On November 13th, the Group of Proletarian Attack targeted the Galatsi tax office in Athens, intending to burn down the archives section inside the building with a high-power incendiary device. Due to an unforeseen obstacle, the incendiary mechanism was finally detonated in the outdoor space. Among other things, the group expressed solidarity with Iraklis Kostaris and Nikos Romanos in their fight for prison furloughs, “for breaths of life away from the galleys of bourgeois democracy”.

325 receives news from comrades in Puerto Montt, Chile:
Greetings from Chile
In the first hours of November 25, 2014, we dropped two banners in S.Allende Avenue in Puerto Montt, as a response to Antiprison Solidarity and Agitation Weeks and the International Call for Revolutionary Solidarity with Comrade Nikos Romanos, who is in hunger strike since November 10, fighting for a breath of freedom outside the walls of Koridallos fucking prison. In the other hand, soon will start Comrade Tamara Sol trial, to whom we warmly hugh and send strength!. As you know, she is being accused for the shooting to a bank guard as a revenge act for the murder of the Comrade Sebastian Oversluij on December 11, 2013.
The banners read:
– “Tamara Sol ¡To the street! And all the enemies of Domination jailed by State in Mexico, Greece, Italy, Chile, USA…”
– “Strength, Nikos Romanos, in Hunger strike”
There are neither limits nor barriers that can stop the multiform anarchist action, just excuses!
International Call for Revolutionary Solidarity with Anarchist Nikos Romanos on hunger strike since 10/11/14 (Greece)

via Act for Freedom Now!:
Imprisoned anarchist Nikos Romanos has been on hunger strike since Monday November 10 demanding his right to educational day release from prison. From 17th November comrade Giannis Mihailidis has also been on hunger strike in solidarity with his comrade.
Their struggle is also ours, whatever they decide we are with them as we have been from the start. From the moment of their capture the comrades have vindicated their anarchist individualities with passion and dignity throughout the ordeals reserved for them in the cesspits of the State. For us of act for freedom now every translated word, paragraph and page expresses our rage and desire to give a strong flaming hug to the comrades held hostage in the hell-holes of the state. Distance is irrelevant when we speak of solidarity. That is why we are calling, as of now, for international revolutionary solidarity for Nikos.
We will not leave any comrade alone in the hands of the state.
SOLIDARITY IS OUR WEAPON
*That night we kept our eyes fixed on the horizon and saw many falling stars drawing their own chaotic paths. And we counted them over and over, we made wishes, calculated the odds. We knew that our desire for a free life had to step over all that oppresses us, murders us, destroys us, so we dived into the void just like the shooting stars we were observing. Since then innumerable stars have fallen, perhaps it’s time for our star to fall, who knows? If we had the answers ready, we wouldn’t have become what we are, but selfish bastards who would teach people how to become rodents that eat each other as they do today. At least we still remain implacable and stubborn like the people of our kind. And those of us who closed their eyes in pain and travelled far continue to keep their eyes stuck on that night sky we also observed.
And they watch us fall, beautiful and shining stars.
Now it’s our turn.
Now, without hesitation, we fall.
As of Monday, November 10th, 2014 I begin a hunger strike without taking a step back, with anarchy forever in my heart.
Responsible for each day of hunger strike, and whatever happens from this point forward, is the prison board, namely the prosecutor Nikolaos Pimenidis, the director Charalabia Koutsomichali as well as the social work assistant.
SOLIDARITY MEANS ATTACK
To all the armchair “fighters”, professional humanists, “sensitive” intellectual and spiritual personages: good riddance to you in advance.
Anarchists from Act for freedom now!

A gesture of solidarity…
On the night of October 12th we used stones, slingshots and Molotov cocktails to sabotage two banking entities in Iztapalapa delegation of Mexico City.
Revolutionary solidarity is how we also show our support to the imprisoned comrades on hunger strike since the 1st [until the 17th] of October by attacking those responsible for this miserable everyday living. It is our response to the harassment of the comrades by guards, physicians and the staff of penitentiary institutions. So ours is a target easily identifiable and relatable to domination.
The insurrectionary anarchist perspective goes beyond the fetishism of fire or weapons. Our approach to anarchy is a struggle that has no interest in being a televised spectacle, nor need for “self-promotion” due to lack of promotion by the State. So ours is a simple and direct communication that corresponds to the requirement of the moment concerning the striking comrades; a simple and easily reproducible means.
The insurrectionary anarchist perspective is a method, often suitable for the generalization of individual and social conflict that subverts the normalcy. For insurrection as many other forms (and in their entirety) open up possibilities for a veritable revolution. An anarchist method for radical and profound change.
No mediation or dialogues with the State and the Capital!
For the struggle against all kinds of power, including the so-called Popular Power that is being sold to us as autonomy!
Sunday, October 19th, 2014
The comrades are well, without complications or physical damage. They will soon make the reasons and motives for ending the strike public.
For now this is all the information we have.
Freedom for all! Down with the prison walls!
