Never forgetting the fallen warriors who fell in battle fighting for freedom, we celebrate this victory over the forces of militant Islam and their geo-political backers. Rid the world of their influence – Continue the struggle against ISIS/Daesh – Wipe them out.
ROJAVA– The city of Kobanê in Rojava (West Kurdistan) was today (Jan 26) completely liberated from Daesh (ISIS) terrorists.
For 134 days our forces have expressed a heroic resistance against Daesh terrorism, and did not let the hopes of our people and all the humanity to fail. Our forces fulfilled the promise of victory, this success is a victory for the Rojava Revolution, a victory for a democratic Syria, a victory for humanity, and a victory for freedom against Daesh barbarism and brutality.
For 134 days, our fighters of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) / Women’s Defense Units (YPJ), men and women of Kurdistan, lovers of freedom from four parts of Kurdistan and other countries, came to a heavy battle, and conducted a great resistance against Daesh’s terrorism. Many of our combatants, young men and women, were martyred during this resistance, but at the end it was the pure spirit of them which prevailed. The People’s Defense Units once again proved that no one could ever conquest the Rojava Revolution, it proved again that it is the authentic force to defend the Kurdish people and other peoples of this region.
The battle for Kobanê was not only a fight between the YPG and Daesh. It was a battle between humanity and barbarity, a battle between freedom and tyranny, it was a battle between all human values and the enemies of humanity. It was the truth, the spirit of freedom, it was the free will of the people and the will of humanity that ultimately succeeded in Kobanê. (more…)

In 2014 we have witnessed terrorist attacks by the terror organization of Daesh (ISIS) against people and the forces who would stand in the face of their barbaric mentality.
Women, children, and the elderly were not salvaged from their brutality. Along with Daesh terrorism, the earlier attacks by the Free Syrian Army, several Islamic battalion, and the forces affiliated to the Syrian Regime were in order to light the fire of war in the cities that normal life was ongoing, against the civilians. Not just inside the Syrian borders, the terrorist forces of Daesh (ISIS) faced towards Iraq and started a war with the Iraqi army and Peshmerga forces of the Kurdistan Regional Government, in an attempt to instill fear in people’s hearts, and controlled several strategic areas.
On the 10th of June 2014, Daesh terrorists could occupy the city of Mosul in Iraq and seize large numbers of weapons and military equipment, adding to their military supplies that already were controlled in Syria from the Syrian Regime and the Free Syrian Army. While taking control of some of Syria and Iraq’s oil and gas fields, the terrorist group tried to enlarge its controlled territory from North of Aleppo up to Hasakah outskirts, north of Mosul to Takrit and up near Baghdad. NEWS DESK – Cemil Mazlum, one of the YPG Kobanî Commanders, evaluated the resistance mounted against the ISIS attacks in Kobanî and Rojava during 2014, its outcomes and their expectations for 2015 for ANF [Kurdish media].
The YPG Kobanî Commander stressed that in the present situation the ISIS gangs have suffered a defeat in the face of the YPG/YPJ resistance, adding: “We are welcoming 2015 with victory steps against the ISIS gangs in Kobanî and entire Rojava.”
Recalling that the ISIS attacks on Rojava revolution have continued all year long, Commander Cemil Mazlum said that the gangs launched their most expansive attacks on Kobanî early September when -he added- Kobanî responded to the attacks with a spirit of self-sacrifice and the philosophy of leader Apo, referring to Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan. “Kobanî has been the beginning of the end for the ISIS”, he said.
‘Rojava revolution opened the way for the peoples’
“Before evaluating the struggle of the YPG/YPJ in 2014, we firstly salute our people who laboured for the resistance throughout the year and bow respectfully before the memory of the martyrs”, said Commander Mazlum who also stressed that the year 2014 was of great importance for Kurdistan and the peoples of the Middle East.
