I can hardly believe that it has been another year passing and it is J11 again. I am so thankful for this annual touch point as an opportunity to reach out to my community on the outside and to take stock of the year. It is hard to take in that I have been locked up for more than a decade, and even more sobering to realize how many comrades have been incarcerated for MULTIPLE decades. They have my infinite admiration for maintaining their integrity and for keeping their vision alive through so many years.
I always want to thank all the good folks who do solidarity events to mark this day. I am sure that as I do, all of the anarchist prisoners draw much strength and courage from knowing that you all have our back and have worked so hard to send that immense love across borders and through the bars. There has been way too much hate and “othering” around borders these days. It’s a powerful message to send love instead, and to question the legitimacy of any borders that separate or devalue us as living beings, all equally sharing this planet. (more…)

June 11th: The international day of solidarity with Marius Mason and long-term anarchist prisoners. In the 15 years this tradition has been observed, June 11th has facilitated support and action inspired by imprisoned anarchists — from noise demonstrations outside of jails to letter-writing nights, from fundraisers to arson. Setting aside this day is one way of remembering anarchists who are serving long prison sentences, generating support for them, and inspiring solidarity actions.
Because social struggles phase in and out, this day is a way to make sure that our imprisoned comrades are not forgotten. Our lack of memory is partially a result of the techno-alienation of the larger culture we’re fighting against. But it’s also a product of the dynamics of the anarchist space. People become burnt out and the cycle of forgetting continues.
June 11th is a way of combating that amnesia, of trying to sustain a long-term memory in the anarchist space. Not only does this generate support for anarchists locked in the state’s prisons, it forces us to look back at what came before. Considering what previous generations did can both inspire us with ideas we’ve forgotten, and help us understand how our current practices came to be. (more…)

By now it is a platitude to speak of the isolation and silence that prisons strive to impose. Every week another one of our imprisoned friends tells us that their mail is getting fucked with, the phones on their unit are “broken,” or that our publications are being rejected with no recourse.
For us, one of the most exciting elements of June 11, 2016 was the proliferation of words and ideas shared between and from anarchist prisoners. Along with spreading material solidarity internationally and keeping the names of our comrades on our lips, our contribution to facilitating that communication is one of our most important tasks. While the starting point of our project was support for Marius Mason and Eric McDavid (the first of whom remains imprisoned in an extremely restrictive unit, while the latter has been freed!), it has been through a spreading web of communications that we have expanded the scope of our project to solidarity with long-term anarchist prisoners around the world. This year, we are seeking to emphasize this communication.
Maintaining communication is a lifeline for those caught in the snares of state repression or locked in its dungeons. Prisons function to isolate those held within these dungeons, to remove them from human community, and to break their will. Receiving letters and publications, being able to connect with individuals outside of the walls, and being able to call upon the solidarity of comrades on the outside are all vitally important to retaining dignity in dehumanizing conditions. When Chelsea Manning attempted suicide, communication enabled her and those close to her to mobilize and act. For prisoners who seem to live under a microscope due to their rebellious activities, a constant stream of letters shows their tormentors that they have friends on the outside and that there will be consequences for any action taken against them. Throughout the September 9th US prison strike, the relationships built over years made it possible to know of work strikes and rebellions happening in prisons all over the country, allowing supporters to organize counter-repressive action.

Happy New Year, Family and Friends! Many, many thanks for so much support and care over this year from both long-standing friends and new pen pals. I feel very grateful and am always humbled by the encouragement and resources sent my way by folks who are doing so much already to increase our collective chances for survival. The news has been full of stories about someone winning the big money pool that has accumulated for the US Lotto – but the most important “win” has nothing to do with money. I am betting on the movement to win big this year: in getting more control over their communities and defending against police brutality and racial inequality, in winning more victories for animal and in the defense of wild spaces, in creating social relations based on respect, dignity and compassion for all people… irregardless of their race, orientation, creed or gender presentation. Reportbacks from the International Day of Solidarity with Marie Mason, Eric McDavid & all long-term anarchist prisoners
Tuesday, July 1st, 2014
We’re humbled by the enormous outpouring of solidarity which comrades all over the world demonstrated on June 11th this year, especially the ways in which people linked Marius [Marie] and Eric’s struggles in prison with their own struggles against environmental devastation, the prison-world and the forces of capitalist exploitation.
We’d also like to draw attention to the hunger strike currently taking place in Greek prisons, against the construction of new high security wings and entire prison for those convicted on terrorism charges (primarily anarchist and nihilist combatants). We continue to stand in complicity with comrades, near and far, who are struggling both inside and outside of prison walls against the intensification of the systems of control and oppression.
Reportbacks are below, alphabetical by city. If you participated in an event that wasn’t listed, post about it in the comments!
$500 raised for the comrades, and lots of new faces at the event/show.
We began with a call-in from anarchist-communist prisoner Tasos Theofilou, accused of participating in a bank robbery and the murder of a taxi driver, and of being part of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire (which he denies). Being able to breach the prison walls in this small way, and to talk directly with Tasos, was very special. (more…)

June 11th has been defined as a day of international solidarity with comrades Eric McDavid and Marie Mason and with all political prisoners who are incarcerated all over the world. Imprisoned comrades experience this situation not only due to their direct action and the transubstantiation of their words into action, but also because of their choice to be anarchists.
In the struggle for degradation and destruction of state/authoritarian complex, anarchists comrades and activists-abroad and in Greece, too-consider as an integral part of animal and earth liberation human liberation, too.
In U.S.A., the Animal Liberation Front and the Earth Liberation Front have been proclaimed by FBI as the No. 1 enemy of domestic terrorism. Eric McDavid and Marie Mason were arrested in January 2006 and September 2008 respectively,
without proof but with plenty of accusations. The State’s choice of their imprisonment was far more than random. (more…)
#J11: International Day of Solidarity with Eric McDavid, Marie Mason & Long-Term Anarchist Prisoners
Friday, April 26th, 2013
June 11th is the international day of solidarity with Eric McDavid, Marie Mason, and other longterm anarchist prisoners.
The state stole Eric McDavid and Marie Mason from us in 2006 and 2008 respectively. In the years since their arrests, repression has come to feel less like a specific event and more like an inescapable, ongoing nightmare. Sentenced to 22 years and 20 years, respectively, Marie and Eric remain in cages to this day, and know this nightmare more intimately than most.
Lately, we hear lots of talk about the end times, and total environmental collapse seems imminent. But what do these forces mean to those inside prison cells? And what do they mean for us on the outside? We are trying to save both each other and some shred of wildness on this earth. Our task is difficult, and sometimes seems impossible, because the harder we fight, the more repression we face. Every day we lose more species, more land, more friends… and this process shows no signs of slowing. How do we survive and continue to struggle in the face of this reality? (more…)

Marie Mason is an eco-prisoner condemned with a long prison punishment by the American regime.
Marie Mason’s 51st birthday is coming up on January 26, 2013. We are asking that folks hold events for Marie around her birthday as part of what will be an annual time to celebrate her life and keep her spirits up while she remains imprisoned.
We know that the mid-winter holidays are a busy time for everyone, but they are a sad time for the prisoners who remain inside – and everyone wants some cheer on their birthday! So we hope that folks can find time to plan a small event for Marie, such as a letter-writing or birthday party. (If time permits, we recommend that you might want to hold letter writings a week or more earlier so the cards can reach her before the 26th.) (more…)

June 11th began as an international day of solidarity with long-term anarchist prisoner Jeff “Free” Luers in 2004. At the time, Jeff was serving 22+ years. Infuriated by the environmental devastation he saw occurring on a global scale, Jeff torched three SUVs at a car dealership in Eugene, Oregon [Click for info on Sadie & Exile, who torched the same dealership in solidarity]. The sentence imposed on him was meant to send a clear message to others who were angered by capitalism’s continued war on the Earth’s ecosystems – and to those who were willing to take action to put a stop to it. Jeff is, after all, not alone in his concerns about climate change, fossil fuels, pollution and genetically modified organisms. (more…)

June 17, 2011
In the spirit of June Eleventh and inspired by recent actions against development in the Southern Ontario region, anarchists paid a visit to a condo development site on Belmont Ave. in Waterloo. The presentation building was painted in class war graffiti, all of the windows broken, and a nearby construction machine was covered in paint stripper and had its windows broken.
The Tricar Group (Real Estate Development & Property Management) are creating more space for the rich across Southern Ontario by building luxury condominiums in Waterloo, Guelph, Sarnia and London. Condos attract more yuppies into the cities where we live, increasing property values and pushing out the poor, broke, and working class people.
Condos are Class War!
Ps. Brianna Waters: your betrayal disgusts us.
Arson of Church in Solidarity with Marie Mason, Eric McDavid & Imprisoned Comrades of the Social War (Peru)
Tuesday, June 21st, 2011
This past 11th of June a fire was started on the side of a church which was under construction; we climbed the wall with mats in order to reach the entire wooden frame, instead of climbing the wall and going inside, we proceeded to leave plastic bottles filled with gasoline on which a sticker was placed, (alluding to the comrade fallen in combat, Mauricio Morales); and an additional amount [of gasoline] was splashed across the fence. Moments before climbing the walls again, we set fire and showered leaflets in solidarity to the eco-anarchist comrades Marie Mason and Eric McDavid; it was the same place where days before we painted slogans, while we were making an inspection of the area.
By way of this action we express solidarity with those who, like many other prisoners of the social war in the world, do not give up in this struggle; through this form we also show that our solidarity continues and will continue to be a weapon against the whole system of domination, and that those on the inside are not alone.
We do not surrender, we continue onward, we know that with intentions we do not change anything, but only with actions. Seek to live anarchy!
For fear to not destroy solidarity… for solidarity to destroy confinement!
Against the prisons of capital!
Freedom to the accused of the “Bombs Case”!

text of the leaflet:
INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY WITH IMPRISONED ECO-ANARCHIST COMRADES
Eric McDavid was arrested in January 2006 after being betrayed by “Anna,” a paid government informant, and was charged with a single count of conspiracy. Eric (who never carried out any action; we can say he was committed for a “thought crime”), refusing to cooperate with the State, was brought to trial, where he was sentenced to almost 20 years in prison.
Marie Mason was arrested in March 2008 after her partner turned FBI informant. Faced with life-long imprisonment if she went to trial, Marie accepted a plea deal in September 2008, admitting her involvement in an arson of an office involved in genetic engineering. In February of the following year she was sentenced to almost 22 years.
We express solidarity this June 11th with the eco-anarchist comrades who like many of the other prisoners of the social war in the world do not give up in this struggle.
For fear to not destroy solidarity… for solidarity to destroy confinement!
Against the prisons of capital!
