Various weeks have passed since the last update on the case of the anarchists arrested on the 5th of January. A variety of events have occurred since then, here is an actualisation.
The General Prosecutor of the Republic was not able to find enough elements to maintain the charges of Terrorism and Organized Crime against the three, and they were charged with the accusations of Damages and Attack on the Public Peace. Their process is in the stage of presenting evidence and the first court dates are set for the 2nd and 3rd of April. (more…)

I want to begin this letter with a huge hug for all the compxs who are on the run, all those who are fighting for their liberty, and all those who are locked up and for whom this world of domination is trying to quell their rage. There is no cell, no wall, no authority to whom I give enough power to quiet my rage and my desire for liberty. I’ve had these feelings since I was a little one and now, in my heart and my head, they are stronger than ever, and there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think of you guys, my friends. I can imagine, and they tell me as well, that the situation outside is very precarious. This doesn’t surprise me, as us deciding to be in conflict comes with repression. (more…)

February 23, Santa Martha prison, Mexico DF
On the evening of January 5, I was arrested with my comrades Fallon and Carlos for allegedly attacking the office of the Federal Secretary of Communications and Transportation of Mexico, and also a Nissan dealership. Windows were broken and molotov cocktails were thrown inside the ministry, (according to what the evidence says) and inside the new cars of the dealership. Damages are evaluated to more than 70 000 pesos at the ministry and 100 000 pesos at Nissan.
Indeed, I’m an anarchist and live in Montreal, Canada. I was traveling in Mexico, and now my trip is being prolonged some time. (more…)

Call for an international week of solidarity with anarchists in Mexico facing repression (March 17-24, 2014)
Thursday, March 6th, 2014
This is a call for international solidarity with anarchists in Mexico facing repression, whether they are stuck behind the iron bars of prison cells or hiding out for their freedom.
The state of Mexico has turned its attention to the blossoming anarchist space that has been actively attacking the state’s defense apparatus, the very foundation upon which it stands. Now is the best time to draw inspiration from the anarchist space in Mexico, and to show some love to our imprisoned comrades. The history of Mexico is very rich, and cannot be summed up in a text such as this. What can be mentioned, however, are the efforts that have been made to live in conflict with the state.
This call comes at a time when the anarchist space in Mexico has been actively contributing to a struggle against power and domination. Attacks on police vehicles, banks, government buildings, and other symbols of power have led the Mexican state on a hunt to persecute those who have effectively threatened their foundation of social peace. 5E: End of the arraigo, terrorism case falls – Comrades now detained under charges of damages and attacks on public peace (Mexico)
Thursday, February 20th, 2014
Yesterday February 17, marked the end of the 40 days of arraigo* decreed by the Attorney General of the Republic against our compañerxs Carlos López, Amelie Pelletier and Fallon Poisson.
During these forty days they tried to put together a case for Terrorism and Organized Crime against them, however, and despite intimidating and inquisitorial methods, they were unable to mount their case, so that at the end of the arraigo our compañerxs were released for lack of evidence. The Local Police of the Federal District has since detained them on charges of damages and attacks to public peace. (more…)
5E3 : Seattle solidarity demo at Mexican consulate for the arrested comrades accused of molotov attack (USA)
Wednesday, February 12th, 2014
This afternoon, February 11th, there was a demonstration at the Mexican consulate in Seattle, in solidarity with Carlos Lopez and other prisoners of the Mexican state. A group of about 20 people chanted Carlos’ name as well as anti-border and anti-prison slogans, and a synopsis of the case and a statement by Carlos were read over a megaphone. There were two banners that said “Solidarity to all captured comrades” and “Solidaridad es mas fuerte que los carceles! Presxs a la calle!” We stood around and handed out leaflets to passers-by for about 15 minutes, then went inside the consulate and read Carlos’ statement again, and left and dispersed on our own accord. A big hug to all comrades!
I was very pleased to learn of the gestures of support from outside towards us three anarchist prisoners. We remain firm and strong despite the silly accusations made against us, and intimidating comments (here, they tell us that we’ll spend much time in prison) wanting to break our identity. They aren’t successful, because we are strong and have conviction.
Today they brought us to declare, expecting us to declare ourselves innocent or guilty. On this point I want to openly make something clear, personally I do not accept either of the two positions. Guilty? Innocent? That would give legitimacy to the stupid laws of the State, of which I do not recognize the authority. After all the State and its laws are just generators and regulators of privileges, injustices, exploitation and domination. (more…)

On January 20th, 2014 our comrade Mario Lopez was arrested while he appeared in court, as he does every week, to sign in as part of the conditions imposed for his release on bail. At first he was informed that the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic was demanding his presence in order to ask him questions about an ongoing investigation. After being questioned he was notified that he would be arrested for a warrant for Violation of Federal Law of Firearms and Explosives for the events of June 27, 2012 (when Mario was first imprisoned: http://en.contrainfo.espiv.net/2012/07/01/mexico-recent-information-about-the-anarchist-comrade-mario-lopez-hernandez/) [+ see here.].
He was transferred to the Eastern Penitentiary in Mexico City. At this time this is all the information we have.
Mario’s arrest takes place within the context of a witch-hunt of anarchists by the Mexican government. We have little doubt that our comrade, now in jail, will face more accusations by the state in an attempt to frame him. Persecution against anarchism continues, and for that reason it’s more important than ever to strengthen our solidarity.
Free Mario Lopez!
Free all anarchist prisoners!
Neither guilty, nor innocent!

(more…)
