Marseille: Incendiary attack against a GDF Suez car in solidarity with Calais (France)

Monday, March 21st, 2016

In recent weeks, the State and its “good” army have intensified their attacks against our friends in Calais, between two racist pogroms unleashed by fascists. But those who attack libertarian networks should expect strong reactions.

If the houses built in Calais are destroyed, we’ll destroy the repressive infrastructure, in Marseille like anywhere else.

In response to the destruction and attacks against the Calais Jungle, we burned a van of {Cofely – GDF Suez}, who profit from the management of so-called “migrants” by participating in the construction of detention centres in France and in Italy – Friday 4th March in the neighbourhood of Baille.

The struggle against all borders, States, and the society of exclusion and eviction, will continue.

For a solidarity-based life.

Saturday, January 2nd, 2016

Dear all,

As Anarchist Radio Berlin we had the opportunity of making an interview
with two activists of the occupied and self-organized refugee center
Notara26 in Athens, Greece. The comrades tell us about the origins and
ideas of their center as well as of the anarchist influence and
importance of the Exarchia neighbourhood. They also comment on the topic
of governmental (Syriza) policies and the difference of their work to
such policies. And they also mention problems encountered in this project.

Screws badly beat detainee in Brook House migration prison (UK)

Saturday, April 4th, 2015

The recent wave of hunger strikes and other protests in UK migration prisons has subsided, as prisoners have been silenced, moved between prisons, and humiliated and beaten. This report from the Anti Raids Network is just one of many cases of how people are treated in detention centres and during deportation attempts.

Tahar Khalifa beaten by guards in an attempted deportation on Tuesday 31st March.

On Tuesday, 31st March, Tahar Khalifa, detained at Brook House detention centre [one of the two migration prisons inside the perimeter of Gatwick Airport], was forcibly removed from the centre in an attempted deportation to Tunisia, on flight TU791 at 1745hrs. As he was going up the stairs to the plane he was physically assaulted and beaten by the guards.

In a statement Tahar says that there were multiple officers trying to get him up the stairs; one was choking him, another was twisting his upper body. Tahar was handcuffed at the front and one officer was holding him by the wrist and pulling very hard. (more…)

The other six known to be protesting are Yarl’s Wood (Bedfordshire), Harmondsworth and Colnbrook (Heathrow airport), Tinsley House and Brook House (near Gatwick Airport). (See previous report here.) (more…)

Solidarity with the hungerstrike rebellion in Harmondsworth and Colnbrook (UK)

Tuesday, March 10th, 2015

Update: Protests spreading across immigration detention centres in UK.

Resistance continued yesterday at Harmondsworth and Colnbrook. Over 70 people detained had gathered in the courtyard to continue the protest.

Outside at 9am a group of people made a solidarity demonstration in support of the protests. They could hear people shouting ‘Freedom’ and ‘No Food’. The police were called to the protest and one person was pushed aggressively. Guards and centre managers are asking detainees to go to their rooms and come to talk to the managers one-by-one or in pairs. Detainees have refused and ask the management/staff to come and listen to them in the yard. (more…)

Berlin: 2 vehicles of the prison industry torched in run up to the opening of the European Central Bank – Destroika takes responsibility (Germany)

Monday, February 9th, 2015

In the night between the 28th and 29th of January 2015, Destroika struck in Berlin, and two prison industry vehicles turned into ruins. Through these pinpricks, we will limit the flexibility of the relevant companies. A van of Wisag in Lichtenberg and another of Sodexo in Moabit came under attack.

The company WISAG provides, in addition to the exploitative cleaning sector, security staff for transport services such as the BVG transport company in Berlin, and is responsible for filling the Berlin prisons of fare-dodgers, with ticket inspectors plain-clothed as well as in uniform.

The company Sodexo now runs five prisons in the UK under their own responsibility since the privatisation of the British justice system. In addition, Sodexo is blacklisted in Belgium for their involvement in deportation prisons, besides providing facility management services to deportation lagers in Germany. The company is owned by the Zehnacker group, which is presented in this way: “As a partner of the armed forces, we accompany them in their operational areas at home and abroad. Our mission is to take care of both the troops and their command for a better quality of life. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Justice, Sodexo plans and delivers solutions that contribute to smooth operations in correctional facilities. In all our activities, we respect our values and ethical principles. Our work in this domain is further proof of our strong commitment to society.”

Freedom for the prisoners of Operation Pandora and all the others!

On the 18th of March 2015 off to Frankfurt – to reduce the European Central Bank to ruins and ashes!

Autonomous Group “Muslim H.”

(Muslim H., originally from Kosovo, was 28 years old when he was killed by 8 screws in the prison of Landshut on May 24th, 2014, in revenge for his successful resistance to his deportation to Hungary.)

Translation note: On January 30th, the remaining seven prisoners of Operation Pandora were released on conditional bail.

Calais: Fascist demo banned, fascist threat continues… (France)

Saturday, January 24th, 2015

UPDATE : Fascists blockade Dover pub garden – ANTIFA DEMO REPORT 25th Jan

From rabbleLDN:

The local state authorities (Prefecture) have banned the fascist demo planned in Calais on Sunday by the “Sauvons Calais” group. The fascists have announced on their facebook page that they are going to obey the order and have called off the demo, although asserting that everyone has “freedom of movement [!!!] and can do what they want”.

Based on previous experience, it is likely that some fascists will still come to Calais, perhaps staying in smaller groups and launching surprise attacks rather than trying to gather together in the centre. In the past, nazi groups have lingered some days after announced demos to form “hunting parties” against migrants and anti-fascists.

Given this, and because there is always plenty to do, comrades in Calais still very much welcome support from anyone planning to travel to the town. Get in touch with Calais Migrant Solidarity.

On the English side of the channel, the simultaneous fascist demo in Dover is still very much going ahead. Antifascists will be there to oppose them. See the call-out here.

As swastika-tattooed Kevin Reche, the young leader of “Sauvons Calais”, is personally banned from demonstrating in Calais town centre, it is thought quite possible that he (and other known Calais fash) will take the ferry to Dover to join the demo there. He is the one on the right in the photo above.

25 Jan: Call out for counter-demo against fascist group 'Sauvons Calais' (France)

Saturday, January 17th, 2015

On the 25th of January the fascist group Sauvons Calais are planning a march against migration at Place d’Armes at 2 am.

Now is the time for movement – we call for migration and any action attacking the fascism we see rise around us. In Calais we see more fascist gatherings, more threats, whilst the occupation of life by the state is ongoing. More and more the cops impose their control on the streets, jungles, houses, places were we live and sleep, our movements, the harbour and the highways, the parkings and the gas stations. Still the deaths caused by the border regime continue. The law of Europe. The fascist voices getting more seats in the shiny parliamentary rooms.

We call for anti-fascist mobilisation. The wind showed us the way in December, blowing down the new security fence at the port, installed by the UK government in a €15 million deal with the French authorities to seal the border. All things can be torn down. We dream of a time when not only so called organised fascists will not gather in the streets, but also cops and politicians responsible for the border regime don’t have the opportunity to rule over our lives and movements. Police attacking Kobane refugee camps with water cannons, militarised police and army (Turkey)

Saturday, January 17th, 2015

Tent city in Suruç raided by troops every week

8 January 2015 News, North-Kurdistan, Rojava

Police attacks vigil tents in Ceylanpınar
The 6th tent city opened for refugees from Kobanê in Suruç is being raided once a week by Turkish troops in armoured vehicles. Fidan Kanlıbaş, who works at the camp, said the Turkish authorities were trying to create an atmosphere of fear.

The sixth tent city being established in Suruç for refugees from Kobanê is being obstructed by the authorities. The camp, in the village of Külünçe, consists of 1,200 tents and has a capacity of 8,000, but the Turkish authorities are refusing to give permission for the camp, which has been set up by the Suruç municipality, and want the refugees to go to the state-run AFAD camp. 12-hour riot after detainee dies at Morton Hall Immigration Removal Centre (UK)

Tuesday, September 9th, 2014

From ABC Hurricane:

A brief spark of revolt was seen from those incarcerated in Morton Hall Immigration Removal Centre near Lincoln after a Bengali man, who had been in the prison only three days, died on September 5.

Disorder broke out at breakfast on September 6 and staff were forced to flee, withdrawing to a “place of safety”.

A ‘Tornado’ team, or ‘national tactical response group’, was called into the prison to quell the riot, which lasted all day.

Solidarity with prisoners in struggle everywhere!

NB: There have been many riots in UK immigration centres over the last 18 months, and the mainstream media are keeping the incidents from being widely known, whilst spreading intolerable racism against migrants and stirring up hateful nationalism. Business as usual…

Rotterdam: Van Omme & De Groot construction contractors attacked during No Border camp (Holland)

Sunday, August 18th, 2013

On 10th August under cover of darkness we targeted the construction contractors Van Omme & De Groot for their involvement in the building of Rotterdam detention centre. The slogan ‘Fuck Deportation!’ was sprayed upon the shutters covering the windows and paint bombs filled with generous amounts of bright paint were thrown, ruining the ever so posh wooden door of the arrogant planners of incarceration. This action was an autonomous action taken upon by ourselves separate from the planned No Borders camp during the same week.

It is one thing to shout “no borders, no nations, stop deportation” but an entirely more effective act to physically attack those who make such a hell for migrants exist. We are also aware that our action alone will not bring an end to the detention/deportation profiteers, but it is a retaliation against those involved in such torturous places that think they can operate with impunity. Our action is in solidarity with all those dwelling in detention centres in fortress Europe, be it Rotterdam, Calais, UK, Italy or Greece. You are never forgotten. To those who make such places of violence possible, you are not forgotten either, we know of you and what you do.

Another sad story – G4S and Jimmy Mubenga (UK)

Saturday, July 13th, 2013

Another sad story, one that passes from time to time on the liberal media; a migrant is killed during deportation. Did this one starve themselves, sew their lips together, swallow razor blades in some private detention centre hell? No, Jimmy Mubenga was killed by three G4S security guards on a plane full of people during an episode of ‘legal restraint techniques’ that they inflicted upon him until he died. The Criminal Prosecution Service (CPS) decided not to prosecute the murder.

“Please, please, they are killing me.” cried Mubenga repeatedly to the passengers on the plane. Jimmy had a wife and a family that the UK Border Agency had snatched him from earlier. They would never see him again. And on the plane, the people saw him murdered by those “just doing their job”, and didn’t do anything about it. Now it’s more grief, as if death weren’t enough: the “inquest” of “British justice” rubber-stamps the approved killing and serves more white justice to black faces. (more…)
