1. You are a member of Revolutionary Struggle, an armed anarchist organization. Why did you choose armed struggle as a method of action?
Armed struggle is an integral part of the struggle for social revolution. It is an integral part of a revolutionary movement that seeks the overthrow of capital and the state. There is an inseparable connection between the movement and armed struggle to such an extent that a movement to be truly revolutionary needs to include armed struggle in its targets. Throughout history there has never been a victorious revolution that was not armed. Armed struggle or in other words, armed propaganda, is a very powerful tool for the fight and its political messages can be very powerful, as long as there is an overall political conception and analysis about where we act, what we want and what we aim for. In Revolutionary Struggle we believe that armed action aims at dissipating to the greatest possible social and folk classes the necessity of social revolution and of the overthrow of capital and the state. Today, especially in Greece but not only, during the fiercest attack of the imperialist capital, while the Troika and the Greek state implement a policy of social genocide, armed struggle is as necessary and timely as ever. In 2009, at the beginning of the crisis, when it still had the characteristics of a crisis of the financial system and before it became a debt crisis, we had expressed the view that a great opportunity for a revolutionary era had dawned for Greece, because the consequence of the crisis was the end of neoliberal consensus and the de-legitimization of the economic and political system in the eyes of the social majority. Under these these circumstances, targeted armed action against the regime may result in a cascade for a system with advanced interdependence in all areas and activities and acts as a proliferation risk of destabilization. Since the economic and political globalization has advanced significantly, and with it the conditions of interdependence have increased, our view has been reinforced that armed struggle is now more than ever, not only politically necessary and feasible, but also crucial for the incitement of systemic problems and conflicts that will effectively undermine the system, to its final fall. But this requires a revolutionary movement that will resort to arms. (more…)

Revolutionary Struggle: Nikos Maziotis claims political responsibility for Bank of Greece bombing (Greece)
Friday, August 15th, 2014
News-report from mainstream media:
The detained urban guerrilla Nikos Maziotis recently spoke to Efimerida ton Syntakton and – as a member of the Revolutionary Struggle – has accepted the political responsibility of the bombing of the Bank of Greece in April, noting that the IMF’s offices in Greece are hosted there.
Maziotis also sent a message to his fugitive partner Panagiota Roupa, telling her to “stay free and raise our son” and that “despite the casualties, the struggle continues”. In his interview his expresses his sorrow for the injury of innocent bystanders during the shoot-out in Monastiraki, but noted that the injuries came from ricochets, rather than direct shots.
Finally, the stressed that “anyone who thinks that they are a fighter or an anarchist and believes that they must act within the limits of lawfulness, should better join a legal parliamentary party, to become a part of the system and not pretend to be a fighter or rebel or anarchist”.

On July 16th, 2014 the armed dogs of the establishment unleashed a fierce manhunt, and comrade Nikos Maziotis, member of the Revolutionary Struggle, was hit by a cop’s bullet and fell covered in blood. The comrade gave his battle against the cops that were chasing him. The state apparatus in its totality triumphed over the arrest of the “No 1 most-wanted fugitive” in the country. So did the criminal and real archi-terrorist Samaras, whose government took over the reins from the former pro-memorandum governments in a campaign for the biggest social genocide that has ever occurred in Greece in a time of “peace”. Samaras has used the arrest of Maziotis as a means to the stabilization of his faltering government, in order to support a political and economic regime with rotten foundations, which has long been discredited in social consciences.
For the political and economic regime, not only in Greece but also internationally, the arrest of a revolutionary with the political calibre of Nikos Maziotis is a “significant success”, as stated by the United States. That’s because the comrade’s arrest is perceived by our enemies as a blow to the struggle for the establishment’s subversion, as a blow to the struggle for liberation from the yoke of capitalism and the State, as a blow to the struggle for social Revolution. The size of threat that Maziotis poses to the establishment is reflected in the high-pitched nauseating rejoicing on the part of the domestic and foreign political power. Because the comrade and the Revolutionary Struggle, the organization in which he belongs, are intrinsically linked to the systemic political destabilization, to the undermining of a rotten regime; linked to the consistent war against domination and contemporary barbarity; linked to the struggle for the overthrow of the State and capitalism, linked to the social Revolution itself. Comrade Nikos Maziotis was and continues to be committed to the Revolution. This is what he has fought for, this is what he still fights for; this is why they present him as No 1 danger to the establishment. Thus, the political gravity of this case should be the primary parameter in expressing solidarity with the comrade. (more…)

Revolutionary Struggle: Update on Nikos Maziotis / Aggiornamento su Nikos Maziotis / Update zu Nikos Maziotis / Mise à jour concernant Nikos Maziotis (Greece)
Wednesday, July 30th, 2014
As you will know, on July 16 after a random check, Nikos Maziotis was arrested after a gunshot injury to his arm. From the very first moment, the bourgeois media attempted to present the comrade as a “social threat” and to devalue the political action of Revolutionary Struggle. In reality Nikos Maziotis defended his life and his freedom with gun in hand.
The media and the police tried to project a manufactured version of events where Nikos Maziotis was shooting indiscriminately endangering the lives of bystanders, which is far from reality. Immediately after, intense investigations and searches of comrades’ houses began and a manhunt was organized for Pola Roupa who escapes capture.
Nikos Maziotis’ health status is out of danger and around the middle of September he will know if further surgery on his arm is required. He is exhausted from the surgery and takes strong medication for the risk of infection. (more…)

Inter Arma received and translated:
RESPONSIBILITY CLAIM FOR SKAI
SCUMBAGS – PIMPS – JOURNALISTS
“Media are to democracy what tanks are to dictatorships”
We “Nihilists’ Cells” take responsibility for the grenade attack against the headquarters of SKAI pimp-channel, in the early hours of Saturday 12/07.
In the age of media empire a lot are being written just to say a few and hide the most. Journalists appear as the exclusive owners of the truth. Whatever doesn’t “play” on TV cameras, it simply doesn’t exist. It’s being deleted… silenced… hidden…
Just like the biggest hunger strike (4,500 prisoners) ever made in Greek prisons against the law for maximum security prisons. The tidings of the hunger strike was squeezed among advertisements for mobile cellphones, detergents, electrical appliances and the world cup’s carnivalesque rhythms, in order to be frittered, slaughtered and, finally, completely silenced.
The prisoners’ fight against being buried and forgotten living-dead inside hundreds of tons of concrete and banisters looks like it doesn’t match the TV narrative of life. Where the lie builds your ideological castles, there is room only for fear and for the stupefaction of the society of the spectacle. Images of people searching the garbage for some food, interchange with flashy fashion shows and charity events, while the news about the thousands of suicides of neo-desperate ex-bourgeois are being forgotten in the aftermath of lifestyle gossips in an endless TV bargain of social aphasia… And life goes on outside the TV screen in a black-and-white background. Mass way of thinking and emotions with users’ guides… this is the social factory of the media.
SKAI and its group of lackey and pimp journalists are carrying on the propaganda of conservatism and fear. Spinster witches (I. Mandrou), submissive counselors (A. Portosalte), agents (Papachelas), disgusting fawners (G. Aftias), newly minted pretentious cocky dastards (T. Chatzis), hysterical bankers (M. Papadimitriou), under the instructions of a smuggler (Alafouzos), praise and sanctify the authority’s orders, sending for the Inquisition to whoever dares question it.
We could say thousands of words about the salaried TV-attorneys. But no sheep was ever saved by bellowing. In the battle against the existent the one who speaks “well” wins not, but the one who turns his words into action does. That’s why we don’t like garnished speeches, complicated analyses, social rhetorics and pompous political terms, in order to “justify” our actions or to become likeable for the masses.
We are with the minority of those who are indifferent to the objective conditions and the intermediate levels of “social revolution” and we bring the immediate experience of the anarchist insurrection HERE and NOW…
From the razor’s edge where we look for the authentic experience of attack, we send our greeting and our complicity to the COMRADES of the C.C.F.-Imprisoned Members’ Cell and to Andreas and Spyros who are being held in Korydallos wing A, to comrade Olga of C.C.F. and to all those friends in prisons who do not kneel in front of the tyranny of the authority and the decay of time. Solidarity and Strength to the illegal sector of the Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, to Comrades in Germany, Italy, Indonesia and England who reinforce “Project Phoenix”, to the international network of FAI/IRF and to the fugitive urban guerrilla Chr. Ksiros.
THINK REVOLUTIONARY – ACT AGGRESSIVELY
PS (1). The presence of some random by-passers and the danger of injuring them forced us no to express the range of attack we had planned and limit ourselves to the throwing of that specific grenade… But next time we will not content ourselves with a simple intimidating symbolism…
PS (2). Every arrest of an urban guerrilla, like the arrest of N. Maziotis, is one more reason for the sharpening of the attacks. Strength and complicity with the comrades who take the political responsibility of choosing the armed struggle.

In the early hours of Sunday, July 20th, we attacked the bastards of the MAT anti-riot squad with Molotov cocktails at the headquarters of Greece’s socialist PASOK co-ruling party located in Charilaou Trikoupi Street, Exarchia, as a minimum act of solidarity with urban guerrilla fighter Nikos Maziotis…
The States are the only terrorists. Solidarity with urban guerrilla fighters!
Strength and solidarity to anarchist combatant Nikos Maziotis, and Pola Roupa who has a bounty on her head.
Revolutionary Struggle case: Strength to anarchist Nikos Maziotis, arrested in Athens on 16/7 (Greece)
Thursday, July 17th, 2014
In the evening of July 16th, 2014 comrades put up a solidarity banner at the gate of the Polytechnic School, on Patission Street, in response to the fact that Revolutionary Struggle member Nikos Maziotis was recaptured by police in central Athens.
Anarchist Nikos Maziotis, who was on the run for two years, was seriously wounded and arrested earlier today after a shootout with cops in Monastiraki. He was then transferred to the tightly-guarded Evangelismos hospital, where he remains hospitalized. According to his lawyer, the comrade’s life is out of danger.
From 22:30, dozens of anarchists gathered outside the hospital to demonstrate their solidarity with urban guerrilla fighter Nikos Maziotis. At about 23:30 the solidarity intervention was over, and an assembly was called for tomorrow, Thursday 17/7, at 19:30, in the Polytechnic School in Exarchia.
More updates as they come.

March 10th 2010. Lambros Foundas, member of the Revolutionary Struggle falls dead by the bullets of a cop in Dafni during a preparatory action of the organization. Four years later the proposed political action of Lambros Foundas and the Revolutionary Struggle where he acted, is even more topical, the choice of struggle and the strategy of the action even more imperative. Four years later and the terms of life of millions of people are becoming more and more miserable in the name of saving the economic and political system which is being buried deeper and deeper in the crisis.
Four years ago comrade Lambros Foundas gave his life to a political attempt to not turn decadence into a way of life, to not sacrifice people in order to save the system. He gave his life to a political attempt whose final aim was to throw the corpse of capitalism and with It the state, in the trash of history. He gave his life to open the only path for the complete overcoming of crises, to open the way for social liberation, for Social Revolution. This is the matter which is worth fighting for, even dying for. (more…)

Note: This statement was signed October 2012, but it was read to the court by Maziotis’ lawyer in January 2013, while Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa, both admitted members of Revolutionary Struggle, were underground. Both remain fugitives today.
translation by This Is Our Job:
I authorize my defense attorney Dafni Vagianou, who represents me, to read the following text during the upcoming phase requesting the statements of the defendants in the special court at Korydallos Prison chosen for the trial of the case of the Revolutionary Struggle organization, of which I am a member.
Revolutionaries and armed fighters do not apologize. Instead, when they come before a court of the class enemy, like yours, they defend their actions by assuming political responsibility, taking pride in that responsibility, and defying the consequences.
In all these years of my history as an anarchist, I have faced a long list of prosecutions for my actions. I have already spent five years in the prisons of the Greek state. I have been arrested and tried for refusing to comply with service in the armed forces of the Greek state; for my participation in occupations, like the occupation of ASOEE1 in August 1994 and that of the Polytechnic in November 1995; as well as for the placement of a bomb at the Development Ministry in December 1997 and for possession of weapons and explosives. In the last case specifically—the 1997 bombing at the Development Ministry—I assumed political and criminal responsibility for the attack as well as for weapons and explosives possession, and I was thus the first fighter during the transition to assume responsibility for an urban guerrilla action in Greece. Information via Contra-Info. Also read the Oral declaration to the court by Pola Roupa, member of Revolutionary Struggle – October 24th, 2011.
On April 3rd, 2013 the judgment on the Revolutionary Struggle case was a slight improvement of the prosecutor’s proposal. The court’s decision on the Revolutionary Struggle case:
Defendants who have denied participation in the organization
– Acquittal of Marie Beraha, Sarantos Nikitopoulos and Kostas Katsenos of all charges (on benefit of doubt).
– Conviction of Vaggelis Stathopoulos and Christoforos Kortesis for alleged participation in the organization.
Admitted members of Revolutionary Struggle
– Acquittal of Nikos Maziotis, Pola Roupa and Kostas Gournas of the accusation of ‘directing a terrorist organization.’
– Conviction of Nikos Maziotis, Pola Roupa and Kostas Gournas for ‘simple synergy’ with the actions of Revolutionary Struggle (without a shred of evidence concerning their involvement in specific actions, but rather applying the Nazi principle of joint liability).
To sum up, Revolutionary Struggle member Nikos Maziotis was sentenced to 86 years’ imprisonment; his sentence was merged into 50 years. Revolutionary Struggle members Pola Roupa and Kostas Gournas were both sentenced to 87 years; each sentence was merged into 50 years and 6 months. For all three of them, the maximum prison term is 25 years (which are typically served either as a full sentence or by day wages in prisons, or after the completion of 3/5 of the prison term, when a prisoner can be granted conditional release under specific conditions).
Vaggelis Stathopoulos and Christoforos Kortesis were sentenced to 8 and 7 years’ imprisonment, respectively. The sentence against Vaggelis Stathopoulos was merged into 7 years and 6 months.
In addition, for all five convicted anarchists, the judges’ decision provided for deprivation of their political rights (5 years for the three admitted members of Revolutionary Struggle, and 3 years for the other two anarchists), as well as non-suspensive effect of appeal.
While Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa are on the run, Kostas Gournas, Vaggelis Stathopoulos and Christoforos Kortesis were immediately taken to prison. The militant slogans of the audience and the clenched fists of the three anarchist fighters were the last moments of the trial.
Solidarity with all anarchists imprisoned or persecuted by the Greek State! The battle for freedom is far from over.
Long live Revolutionary Struggle!

'Long-Live Luciano Tortuga Cell – International Conspiracy for Revenge – FAI / FRI' attack electrical substation with incendiary device in Manado (Indonesia)
Sunday, September 2nd, 2012
From Membakar Senj[a]:
It’s always a reason to say that the lack of numbers is the main reason. But for us the only obstacle is fear. Theories, reasons and situations are the walls of the labyrinth which always became a reason for obstruction and restriction. As well as the accusations that the kidnapping of two members, of our comrades Billy and Eat, is a barrier to the ongoing actions for destruction.
On August 23, at a power plant in Kotamobagu, North Sulawesi, we put an incendiary device that failed to ignite. We were disappointed with ourselves and the ability of each individual who was involved in the attack. But on the other hand, we learned that no one should regret. Tonight August 31, we re-commit to do the same “crimes”. Leaving the device in order to burn an electrical substation in Tuminting, Manado.
The goal is clear. We are angry. Really angry!
This action is also as a response and as an answer to the unlimited solidarity from many rebellion comrades and companer@s.
To the uncontrolled and brave comrades in the darkness of Bolivia, Chile, Mexico, Greece, Argentina, and England as well as to other places that were never mentioned.
To Olga and all the comrades from Conspiracy of Cells of Fire and Tasos Theofilou who was recently arrested because he was an anarchist. Also we do not forget to mention Theofilos Mavropoulos, Gabriel Pombo da Silva, Rami Syrianos, and Marco Camenisch who are undergoing a hunger strike. All of you are rebels who inspired us despite the fact that you are seized behind bars.
To Luciano Tortuga and Mario Lopez, also never forget to mention Ivan Silva and Carla Verdugo in Chile. Henry Zegarrundo, Juan Aliste Vega, Freddy Fuentevilla Saa, Marcelo Villarroel Sepúlveda also are an inspiration. Do not forget to dissidents like Felicity Ryder, Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa also lastly to K. The fugitive member of the Long Live Luciano Tortuga Cell, Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front (FAI / FRI).
But with fully of shame in our face we mention our two brothers in struggle, members of Long Live Luciano Tortuga Cell, Informal Anarchist Federation / International Revolutionary Front; Billy Augustan and Reyhard Rumbayan (Eat). Also do not forget the brave one of Kulonprogo; Tukijo. For those we send our greetings with the lights of fire from the street. To them we are sending our love.
These actions are also as a manifestation of anger and disappointment.
Impatience for those rebels who after attacks returned to run and hide and spent long time to keep waiting, including us.
Comrades, it is time to strike back.
Do not wait. Time to light it up!
Long Live Anarchy!

(more…)

A poem by the inmates from the 2nd wing of Larissa men’s prisons dedicated to Lambros-Viktoras Maziotis Roupas, the little son of two members of Revolutionary Struggle (Greece)
Wednesday, July 25th, 2012
Born behind prison bars, the visible ones, that hide the heavens
The human guards, the cops and crows, the patrons of quiet sleep were the midwife of yours
You celebrated your first birthday with the shadows cast by steel barriers…
Bourgeois democracy is so merciful…
Now it’s your second birthday, the starlight you’d never seen until now
With the horizon ahead of you extending to infinity
With dogs barking from afar
We wish you ardent years, seas resounding in your ears, thunders singing lullabies to you
The tide coming in and erasing your footsteps, on the sand…
With respect and love to those who did not regret what they ever dared to do
Honour and remembrance forever for Lambros Foundas
This goes out to Nikos, Pola and very young Lambros-Viktoras
The prison inmates of the 2nd wing of Larissa
Happy Birthday and life’s freedom to Lambros-Viktoras Maziotis Roupas from 325. Strength, warmth and respect to Nikos and Pola. Honour to the memory of Lambros Foundas, member of Revolutionary Struggle. Solidarity to those accused and on trial for the same case.
REVOLUTION FIRST AND ALWAYS

As reported by ABC Berlin, Nikos Maziotis and Pola Roupa, two members of the urban guerrila group, “Revolutionary Struggle” – “Epanastatikos Agonas”, have gone underground with their baby-son, Victor Lambros. Since October last year in Athens, the trial of the previous two and Kostas Gournas, who is also a member of the Revolutionary Struggle, has been happening. More people are also accused by the authorities to be part of the group. Pola, Nikos and Costas were for one and a half years in custody and were released before trial on 11 October 2011.
Strength and good luck to the three.
