Occupied Palestine: Two days of riots erupt in Jaffa after 16 year old youth defies coronavirus curfew

Friday, April 3rd, 2020

The enraged people of Jaffa rioted last Wednesday, burning tires and dumpsters, in protest of a series of violent arrests carried out by occupying forces. Cops were on a patrol in the city’s predominately Arab Ajami neighborhood, when they saw a 16 year old standing with another person. The cops then requested identification in order to find out if he was further than 100 meters from his house. The youth refused their order, resulting in the cops attacking and violently arresting him, all the while more residents surrounded the cops to help him escape. A further 4 people where violently arrested, leading to the local neighbourhood attacking any reinforcements that arrived.

A resident of Jaffa who saw what happened, said: “The feelings are very tense, the situation in Jaffa is out of control. It has been a month since the situation tension between police officers and young people has been so severe. It’s not cops, they’re criminals. They don’t talk.
They hit first. This morning there was a riot between police and residents after a 16-year-old refused to identify himself. When a woman came to disperse the mess, she too was beaten. All of Jaffa is furious.
We can’t stand such a thing that the cops behave in such a way.”

States are doing everything possible to suppress rising anti-social tensions against the curfews imposed worldwide, the occupying forces have unleashed their propoganda trying to discredit the unrest by saying the 16 year old had coronavirus when all he did was resist totalitarian violence.

Berlin, Germany: About the Police Murder of Maria P.

Saturday, February 1st, 2020

On Friday 24.01 around 4.00 a.m, the cops of the police station 51 (Wedekindwache), raided the flat of Maria P. on Grünberger Straße 46, after her flatmate’s phone call, and shot her dead. Police reports and its careful reproduction through mass media profile Maria as a mentally ill person attacking the cops with a knife. At the same time the state, police and the mass media are targeting persons with mental health issues, suggesting that this ‘diagnosis’ is enough for their potential execution.

The day after the murder, people gathered in solidarity and started a spontaneous demo in Maria’s neighbourhood. This demo was attacked by the cops, completing in this way the image of zero tolerance while actively defending the provocative statements of the police union (GdP) and the public prosecutor’s office which said that they are currently assuming that their colleagues have behaved correctly.

Berlin is a city based on the alternative tourism industry and a facade of diversity tolerance, promoting a progressive city image, which offers as products, ideas such as antiracism, antisexism and veganism/vegetarianism without hesitating to rely on the ‘friendly’ police forces (da für dich) to ensure citizen’s peace and security when needed. Report by Anarchists on the Revolt in Chile: November 29-December 6

Thursday, December 19th, 2019

November 29th
42nd Social Revolt Day

LONG LIVE IRREDUCTIBLE ENEMIES OF POWER!

“We are facing a powerful and implacable enemy, who does not respect anything or anyone. He doesn’t respect the lives of human beings, he doesn’t respect our heroes.” The phrase is repeated again and again by the President of the Republic, this time at an early graduation of police.

FEAR is one of the most powerful weapons of power, so it continues to encourage a climate of paranoia to demobilize and divide the oppressed.

The State redoubled its efforts to approve its “Anti-hooded Law.” Piñera points to Anarchists, Barras Bravas [organized supporters of football teams] and drug traffickers as a coordinated trident that unleash violence.

The media plan is to exacerbate the coverage of looting of small stores. The capitalist press launches a powerful emotional charge to delegitimize the Social Revolt.

There is an obvious complicity (by action or omission) between the police, home owners and traffickers, individuals without codes who are not interested in those who are harmed by their actions.

Undoubtedly, private property is part of what we want to destroy, but today our objectives are full of strategic symbolism. If the attack on any premises needs explanation, it is not symbolic enough.

A provisional solution would be “self-defense committees,” but our inexperience and ineffectiveness in these practices allow the “yellow vests” to begin to arm themselves with an undeniable fascist affinity. Let the militia return to the street! It is the speech repeated by the lovers of the neoliberal system, although in their pockets the bills have always shone by their absence. (more…)

6th of December – International Day against State Terrorism – Athens (Greece)

Sunday, November 26th, 2017

6 December 2008, 15 years old Alexis Grigoropoulos is shot point blank by cops in the neighborhood of Exarchia in Athens. Alexis falls from the bullet of state murderers and a hurricane of rage rises. This was no accident; it was a targeted murder in the heart of a neighborhood that is, as much historically as in the present, a hub for the oppressed to organize themselves into the resistance movement. The message was clear, to terrorise the resistance, to assert state totalitarian control, to stifle the brewing insurrection against a decrepit system of exploitation and oppression. The story of Alexis is the story of thousands of fighters shot, tortured and disappeared by the armed guards of the state around the world.

In the hours, days and weeks that followed the murder of Alexis myriads of people, who saw in the killing of Alexis their own sufferings in this system, took to the streets around the world. The wave of solidarity broke the isolation and alienation of the oppressed and awakened once again the global vision for a world without exploitation from authority. This history, our history is not a collection of dead symbols. It is our storming ground for the ongoing struggle against the slavery of humanity by capitalist exploiters, their state aparatus and their armies. (more…)

For Anarchist Comrade Santiago Maldonado, Let’s Make the Police and the State Disappear! (Chile, Argentina)

Saturday, September 30th, 2017

Por El Companero Anarquista Santiago Maldonado [es]

This September 1st marked one month since the disappearance of the anarchist comrade Santiago Maldonado at the hands of the police of the National Gendarmerie of Argentina. This took place within the context of the repression against a demonstration that included road blocks made by the Mapuche community Pu Lof in Resistance at Cashamen, in the Argentine province of Chubut.

While the anarchic agitation spread beyond borders, comrades in Argentina took to the streets to spread acts of revolt via propaganda and direct action. With arson attacks against the police, barricades and Molotov cocktails against government buildings, our comrades unleashed their rage at a situation that is as sad as it is real: the bastards have arrested and disappeared an anarchist comrade.

Because Santiago is an anarchist, and not just a young musician and artist, something the press and leftists conveniently leave out, in denouncing the state repression we make it clear that denial and silencing of the comrade’s political identity is another form of disappearance, erasing from the narrative the true motivations of his solidarity presence in the Mapuche community where he was at the time of his arrest. [1]

We have no advice for our comrades in Argentina, we believe in them and their conviction and autonomy to continue transforming their pain into rage, spreading chaos against the world of authority, and deepening and expanding affinities in concrete experiences of confrontation and agitation. We can still be worse – Reflections and considerations on the month following the disappearance of Santiago Maldonado (Argentina)

Tuesday, September 26th, 2017

WE CAN STILL BE WORSE

Reflections and considerations on the month following the disappearance of Santiago Maldonado

On August 1st, members of the Pu Lof Mapuche community in resistance in the province Cushamen barricaded National Route 40, along with allies in solidarity. They cut off traffic in solidarity against the legal proceedings confronting el Lonko Facundo Jones Huala (for the second time). Minutes later, cars and trucks arrived carrying about thirty border police armed with rifles. The peñis (Mapuches) began throwing rocks, responding to the presence of the bastard forces of order. The Gendarmerie advances to the shots, burning the precarious houses and belongings of the Lof, forcing the occupiers to retreat across a river. Santiago Maldonado (“Lechuga” or “el Brujo“) fell behind the rest. Some of the inhabitants of the Lof saw that the Gendarmerie grabbed Santiago; others testified as to hearing the police say they “got one.”

Afterwards, images and testimony began to circulate about how Santiago was missing, and that it seemed the Gendarmerie had taken him away in a “unimog” all-terrain military vehicle. The authorities were silent through this whole process.

On Friday, August 4, various anarchists and individuals in solidarity entered the seat of government in Chubut province, demanding Santiago’s return. The place was ripe for destruction. Computers, notebooks, windows, and decorations were all viciously destroyed, and fliers and graffiti were left behind referring to the repression in Cushamen. (more…)

Statement for Kostas B. from Pola Roupa & Nikos Maziotis, Imprisoned Members of Revolutionary Struggle (Greece)

Monday, September 25th, 2017

Déclaration de Nikos et Pola (Lutte Révolutionnaire) pour Kostas B., antifa tabassé par la police [fr]

At dawn on 17/9, the 16-year-old Kostas B. was brutally beaten by police officers and arrived at the intensive care hospital KAT. The political leadership of the police, the Ministry of Public Order and the SYRIZA-ANEL government covered for the police, presenting the incident as a traffic accident, but a series of facts and testimonies refutes this Besides, if a traffic accident had occurred during an escape attempt of the sixteen-year-old, as is said, why did he not go directly to the hospital with an ambulance, but instead ended up in GADA [police headquarters] in handcuffs and with the police dragging him as he could not walk?

This happened after an anti-fascist demonstration on the anniversary of the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, which originally started at the US Embassy as an intervention in honor of Heather Heyer, who was murdered in Charlottesville, USA, at an anti-fascist demonstration, and then the demonstration went to the headquarters of Golden Dawn in Mesogeion. There clashes started with the police forces guarding the offices of Golden Dawn. (more…)

Athens: Urgent counter-info report concerning 16 year old comrade K.B (Greece)

Friday, September 22nd, 2017

Updates: 1, 2, 3

On September 16th, the day of anti-fascist protests in Keratsini and Athens, for the 4 years since the murder of Pavlos Fyssas by neonazis of the Golden Dawn, 16 year old K.B. is arrested in Exarchia. During his arrest and transportation to GADA (central police hq of Athens), K.B. is beaten and tortured by riot cops resulting in his severe injury.

Although this incident is publicized on social networks and counter-information websites, on the same day false information is leaked concerning the health of K.B. as well as the conditions of his care in the intensive care unit of KAT hospital.

In an attempt to cover-up a very serious incident during an especially explosive juncture, another attempt is coordinated to downplay this incident.

Stray information on the same day say that the kid’s situation has stabilized, that he has escaped danger, as well as that the detention protocol in the hospital was upheld.

The reality however is far from that, and goes as such: K.B. right now is being hospitalized in an induced coma, in intensive care of KAT hospital. His relatives have had no hopeful news (till now) about his health and the information they have been receiving is extremely incomplete. It simultaneously became known after a
syndicalist doctor of that hospital denounced it, that the police had a cop INSIDE the intensive care unit which is obviously forbidden. Doctors cannot bring him out of the coma he is in right now because of his situation and do not know when he will come out of it. His injuries are severe, he had an epileptic episode as well as loss of consciousness.

Also, today he had an operation and had metal rods placed in both of his legs.

Not trusting the state apparatus who only care about their self-preservation in every way, we call on anyone who knows anything concerning the arrest and transfer of 16 year-old, to email: againstpolicebrutality@espiv.net in order for us to investigate what has happened exactly.

It is a matter of survival of the authoritarians to maintain the illusion of social normality in any way.
On our side, we ought to not give even a bit of space to those who attempt to silence and punish whoever resists.
Our solidarity is a given but also factual and we call for a gathering at KAT hospital on Wednesday September 20th*.

NO ONE ALONE IN THE HANDS OF THE STATE
EVERYONE TO THE STREETS
EVERYONE TO THE BARRICADES

Solidarity assembly to K.B.

*next assembly is on September 22nd at 7pm at the Polytechnic in Athens.

Carlo Giuliani Murdered by Cops: Never Forgive! Never Forget! (Italy)

Friday, July 21st, 2017

From Enough is Enough

Sixteen years ago today, (July 20, 2001), 23 year old activist Carlo Giuliani was killed by Mario Placanica, a riot cop, during protests against the G8 summit in Genoa, Italy. One day later, on July 21st, 2001 cops raided the Diaz School in Genoa. Last month the European Court of Human Rights ruled unanimously that activists and journalists were tortured by cops during and after the raid. Today we remember Carlo Giuliani and all others who have fallen in the struggle against fascism, capitalism and oppression. Carlo Vive!

Its only a few weeks ago that special police forces pointed their machine guns at neighbours, journalists and protesters during the NoG20 protests. The SEK and COBRA squads had permission to shoot with live ammo in Hamburg. Hundreds of people were injured because of the orgy of police violence in Hamburg, which started days before the first stone was thrown. With police vans driving into crowds at full speed, the deployment of special police forces with machine guns and the way the police attack against the Welcome to Hell demo was carried out, cops putted peoples lives in danger.

The police violence in Hamburg remembered me of the orgy of violence by Italian cops in Genoa, Italy in 2001. (more…)

Interview with anarchists from Den Haag (Netherlands)

Monday, January 2nd, 2017

From AvalancheA conversation with two anarchist comrades from Den Haag, NL, an overview of the context, struggle and projects of a few anarchists from this city. We chose to transcribe this interview in order to better understand the particular path, circumstances and moments of revolt that have composed the experience of these comrades.

Tell me a bit about the city itself…

A – Den Haag is a city of 500 to maybe 600 thousand people, it is both the home to poor neighbourhoods, such as the Schilderswijk, the poorest neighbourhood in the Netherlands, and of the biggest institutions of justice of the European Union. The motto of the city is “Peace and Justice”.
It is the host of some of the most important military, intelligence and justice institutions of the European Union… Europol, international summit centres, international courts, embassies…

B – There is also an international zone, protected by security delta, this is not only for the State but also companies, it attracts companies, capital. This city has all changed in the last 15 years, some- one in charge, from one day to the next, decided to flip the switch… and everything changed, all the dozens of squats were evicted, cleaned up, made the space for its new international role… (more…)

Person arrested on suspicion of spreading Anarchist Wallpaper (Netherlands)

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016

Last Sunday night (April 24th) one person was arrested in The Hague (Netherlands) on suspicion of pasting the Anarchist Wallpaper. He is being charged with instigation against authority, inciting violence and pasting of a poster. On Thursday the person who got arrested will be brought in front of the examining judge, who will decide whether to release him or transfer him to preventive detention.

Last week anarchists spread hundreds of Wallpapers in the neighbourhoods Transvaal and Schilderswijk and other places in the city. The first issue of the Wallpaper is about the uprising last year in the area of the Schilderswijk, where thousands of people rebelled for days against the police and the state after the murder on Mitch Henriquez, who was strangled to death by the police. Henriquez was yet another victim of violence by the racist police force of The Hague. Many months after the uprising the police were still hunting the rebels of last summer.

Now that someone is locked up again and it seems that the prosecution is very eager to keep him as long as possible on the suspicion of spreading a poster, expressing our solidarity is the only thing we can do. Solidarity through action. Below you can download the Anarchist Wallpaper. Print and spread, or express your solidarity in whatever other way.

Download the Anarchist Wallpaper here.

Stop the repression! Solidarity with the prisoners!
Down with the police and the state! Long live anarchy!

Below the main article of the Anarchist Wallpaper:

Down with the cops and the State! Long live the revolt!

On the Schilderswijk revolt

In the summer of 2015 a revolt shook up the Schilderswijk in the Hague. A revolt against the daily repression and racism of the cops. Against the suffocating reality of exploitation and unemployment. A revolt of those who decided to break with the normality of State repression. The tables were turned and the cops were chased off the streets. The murder of Mitch Henriquez, another racist murder by the police, was what sparked the revolt. Let’s not forget, let’s not forgive!

The politicians, media, mosques and all kinds of neighbourhood initiatives depicted the revolt as an everyday riot, as a criminal act of which the perpetrators had to be punished severely. Don’t believe them; those organisations that live off state subsidies, those who want to push forward their own agenda at the costs of the oppressed, those that sell out the oppressed in order to be able to join those in power. That people are oppressed in neighbourhoods like the Schilderswijk is obvious. Not being employed because of your name, or exploited at a meager salary while the bosses, big companies, politicians and banks are only becoming richer.

The scapegoat politics that is integrated in the State is blames people of colour for poverty, housing problems and austerity measures, only to make people distrust each other. But refugees, Moroccan and Surinamese people are not the cause of these problems. The real problem is the State and its politicians that only care for the bosses and big companies, and the police that murders, who wants to protect this at all costs.

The revolt in the summer of 2015 was not an everyday riot. It was a legitimate revolt against everything that oppresses us. It was a revolt against the police that terrorises us on the streets. Against the incessant control of CCTV, ID-checks and the so-called “zero tolerance” policy that we only see in poor neighbourhoods. It was a revolt by a community that refuses to be divided by political games any longer. For years we have been asking for change but no one wanted to listen; the only option left then is to revolt. For our dignity, for our existence.

Those who revolted and refused to bow down to repression are those who have not lost their dignity. It is precisely these people that offer hope for a different, better future. That this summer may be a hot one!

Down with the cops and the State! Long live the revolt! Long live anarchy!
