Greece: Shooting of a comrade in Exarchia on December 4, 2013 (Athens)

Saturday, December 7th, 2013

via Contra Info

Before I start describing the incident, I would like to mention the reasons why I haven’t initiated any formal complaint or lawsuit. First off, I declare myself an anarchist-antiauthoritarian. Therefore, my conscience cannot be misled by legal proceedings. Freedom combatants should draw the battle lines against the system and its “privileges” offered to us. In the following account of the incident (which occurred two days before the anniversary of the murder of comrade Alexis Grigoropoulos, in 2008), I want to make it clear that I do not consider myself a victim of the described attack, because the battle lines are drawn, and we stand against the enemy, as I already mentioned. Durham, North Carolina: Reflections on march for Chuey Huerta (USA)

Sunday, December 1st, 2013

via Anonymous:

The report below is only a snapshot of what occurred on November 22nd. Our experience did not occur in isolation as a set of incommunicable facts and feelings. It is also not a historical narrative which swallows everything it does not crush. We hold out hope for some other form of thinking somewhere between the two.

“The police kill us youth, us young people, because they are afraid of us. They are afraid of the things we think and the things we know.” – one of Chuy’s friends, at the beginning of the event.

On Tuesday, November 19th 2013, Jesus “Chuy” Huerta died of gunshot wounds to the chest and head in the back seat of a Durham police vehicle. While police reported that the 17 year old was in the back of the cop car because he had been arrested for trespassing, the presence of a gun – an impossibility according to normal search procedure – has yet to be explained. The circumstances surrounding Chuy’s death have been obscured. (more…)

Everyday repression in the context of “No M.A.T.” – High Tension Electrical Network (Catalunya)

Friday, October 4th, 2013

This is info about the arrest and release of a comrade in the anti-MAT struggle in Catalonia, on the 16th of September…….

more info: http://torresmasaltashancaido.espivblogs.net/

Statement.

I was stopped by the police on the path to the gas station. What started as what I thought was a random ID check turned into me being arrested due to false allegations by the police, a night in custody and me now facing a trial. The fact that I was not from this area played a big role throughout the confrontation, and resulted in fascist remarks and police violence.

I can only assume that the reason behind this repression is to divided us and to keep the protest local. But it isn´t local, it is a global struggle that affects us all and there for shouldn’t be left to address by a small group of people that feels responsible, but by anyone with a social and environmental conscience. Montreal: Cop car burned (Canada)

Sunday, March 17th, 2013

In the spirit of March 15’s past, a cop car was set on fire on the evening of March 15th, at the Poste 33 police station in Parc-Ex, Montreal. This action was taken to complement the 17th annual demonstration against police (and their brutality) that took place earlier that day.

We also send a message of support to Marco Camenisch in his struggles from inside prison in Switzerland.

Note: Police units attacked the annual anti-police demo in Montreal this year and arrested over 200 people in a preemptive assault. The target of the demo was the downtown policestation.

International Day of Action Against Police Brutality, Corruption & Murder

Wednesday, March 6th, 2013

This is a demo call out from a social activist group in Birmingham, UK.

Friday, 15 March 2013, 13:00. Wear Black
Police Headquarters Lloyd House.

March 15 has been a day of international action against police brutality around the globe since 1997. The specific date is significant because in Switzerland, on March 15, two children, ages 11 and 12, were beaten by police. M15 originated from the Black Flag group in Switzerland and from the Collective Opposed to Police Brutality in Montreal. People in countries across the world come out to the streets in March to express their rage against the police. In Montreal specifically, there has been fierce annual riots erupting from the depths of the dispossessed. This March 15, We encourage everyone to join the rest of the world in the streets the timing couldn’t be more appropriate. On this date 2 years ago the Police killed a British Reggae Icon David Emanuel aka Smiley Culture proved in court to be an innocent man and weeks later Birmingham man Kingsley Burrell dialled 999 for help and ended up dead 30th March 2011. Not forgetting unarmed man 36, Anthony Grainger shot and killed in a pre planned operation in Manchester on 3rd March 2012. (more…)

Indonesian "anti-terror" police open fire against demo of independence activists (West Papua)

Sunday, November 4th, 2012

On the 23 of October 2012 a peaceful demonstration was held for four hours in Manokwari, (without police permission) in front of the UNIPA campus. Several hundred people took part. The demonstrators were calling for a referendum on West Papuan independence and were carrying the Morning Star Flag. They reject the fake “dialogue” of the murderous Indonesian state. Following the demonstration the participants walked to the Darul Anum Mosque where speeches were made. The security forces fired shots in order to try to force the demonstrators to stop when they began to throw stones at their frontlines. At least 4 were hit by gunshots amongst the 18 or more injured demonstrators and two police officers were hit by stones and hospitalised. The demonstration was tightly surrounded (in a “kettle”) by police security forces, supported by detachment C of Brimob [The “elite” police force-death squad intended to deal with so-called “terrorists”]. Justice for Anthony Grainger – Shot and killed by Greater Manchester Police (UK)

Monday, September 24th, 2012

325 receives and transmits this information with respect and solidarity to the family and friends of Anthony Grainger:

Father of two, friend to many: Shot and killed by Greater Manchester Police

“This has left us devastated as a family, our lives will never be the same. I cry every single night knowing what they did to my son… We won’t rest until we get justice.” Marina, Anthony’s mother

On 3 March 2012 Anthony Grainger was shot and killed by a police officer from Greater Manchester Police. Anthony was sat behind the wheel of a parked car in Culcheth, Warrington when a squad of armed men surrounded the car, and marksmen shot Anthony in cold blood through the windscreen, killing him immediately.

Anthony and the two men he was with were unarmed. Anthony has no record of being involved with guns and the police had apparently had the men under surveillance in the period leading up to the killing – we believe they knew he was unarmed.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is now investigating Anthony’s death and will soon present its evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). It is then up to the CPS to decide whether to charge any police officer. In the past the IPCC has consistently failed to carry out proper investigations into crimes committed by the police.

Anthony’s death at the hands of the police is not an isolated incident. Since 2000 over 30 people have been shot and killed by the police in Britain and over 400 have died in police custody. Not one serving police officer has served a prison sentence for these deaths.

We will not stop, we will fight. We have joined with many other campaigns who have lost a loved one by the hands of the police who are facing the same INJUSTICE in our system. We fight as ONE – Unity is our strength.
