Victory to the fighters in Kobane – Death to the fascists-mercenaries of the ISIS/Daesh.
YPG Media Centre
Kobanî / November 20, 2014 – The terrorist attacks by the ‘ISIS’ mercenaries to occupy Kobanî continued yesterday on the 66th day. Yet our forces of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) and the Women’s Defense Units YPJ have limited the terrorists’ attacks, and are continuing their operations. The terrorists however are constantly shelling the residential districts of the city center.
On the eastern front of Kobanî, our forces last night carried out several operations against the terrorists in the Sukul Hal area, the municipality street, and the Azadî (Freedom) square. The operations on the three locations were effectively conducted where 7 terrorists were killed.
On the southern front, our troops operated against several areas that had been occupied by the terrorists. In these operation a motorcycle was destroyed and 9 terrorists were killed.
In the last night’s tasks one of our comrades who played a major role to accomplish the operations, fought heroically and was martyred in action.

RabbleLDN: Global Day of Solidarity with Kobane
Kurdish Question: Beyond the battlefield: The Kurdish women’s radical struggle
Monday, November 3rd, 2014
Anonymous report on Hayvanozgurlugucevirileri.com:
November 1st should be an action day for animal liberation not a partying day for veganism.
At the European side of Istanbul, on 1st November around 2 am, we did series of actions: Two trucks that transport dead chickens are sabotaged. Tires blown, front windows broken, locks glued.
“Viva animal liberation” slogans are also spray painted in same neighborhood. Another fast-food restaurant nearby is attacked, windows smashed.
Every day action, every day ALF!
Viva Animal liberation!
Down with speciesism!
Everything for our animal friends!
Freedom to earth, animals and humans!

About 50 people made a solidarity demo for Kobane at the Savoy Hotel from 6pm on Saturday 25 October. The Turkey Britain Chamber of Commerce and Industry were holding their annual ball, attended by the ambassador and deputy economy minister, and sponsored by global bank HSBC.
The demo was a good mix of London anarchists and antifascists alongside Kurdish youth, and other autonomous groups and individuals. There were no cops there initially, and the demonstrators took over the private road off the Strand that leads into the hotel, blocking all the main entrances with banners and making a lot of noise. Chants included “We are Kobane, Kobane is us”, “Alerta, Alerta, Antifascista”, “No Pasaran”, “Who supports ISIS, Turkey supports ISIS”, etc.
The demo didn’t shut the “ISIS business dinner” down, but gave a bit of a shake-up to the bourgeois ball-goers and seemed like a major embarassment to the Savoy hotel management. More importantly, it was a show of solidarity with the fighters in Rojava, and with the Kurdish and Turkish youth who have been going up against the guns of the Turkish state.
The police didn’t arrive for half an hour or more, then rocked up with five or so vans full. They managed to clear the private road and threatened the crowd with some kind of “public order” notices.
The ambassador and minister were not spotted, but presumably came in through a side entrance or otherwise, they were due to make speeches from 7.30PM. Guests had also been promised a chocolate fountain.

In the last days there has been a shift in fortunes for the Kurdish defence units holding out in Kobane. Although heavy clashes continue, ISIS are being pushed back into the fringes of the town. The peoples protection units (YPG) have fought alone, for 35 days now, surrounded by ISIS (Da’esh) fascists with the latest weapons, blockaded by Turkey, with US air strikes only serving to funnel more fascist troops towards them.
Last week it looked like what everyone had feared was about to come to pass, as ISIS flags were raised towards the centre of the town. It looks, at least for now, as if the tide has been turned. This is the work of the defence groups of autonomous Rojava, fighting alone, fighting for their lives and their freedom.
In the last two days, there has also been a shift in the politics of US and Turkey. Yesterday (19 October) the US forces for the first time made air drops of small arms, ammunition, and medical supplies to the YPG (peoples defence units) in central Kobane. Then today (20 October) an announcement was reported from the Turkish state that it would allow US-backed Iraqi Kurdish fighters in to reinforce the town. (more…)

Armed militants appeared on the streets of Diyarbakır, Southeastern Turkey tonight (20/10/2014) in a demonstration of combative solidarity with Kobane and in complete defiance of the fascist Turkish government.
The comrades expressed their anger by setting up burning barricades, throwing many molotovs and firing shots in the air. Messages of support for Kobane and denouncing the fascist Turkish state were broadcast via megaphone so all the people could hear. The comrades escaped into the night avoiding capture by Turkish security forces, all in all, a successful display of militant solidarity from deep within the Turkish state that gave hope to many Turkish people living under AKP tyranny and reminds Kobane & whole world that not all Turkish people support the barbaric actions of the criminal Erdogan regime!

War against ISIS/Daesh: Interview With Mehmûd Berxwedan, YPG Commander – ISIS Has Lost In Kobanê (Kurdistan)
Saturday, October 18th, 2014
Mehmûd Berxwedan – a member of the General Command of the YPG – has spoken with journalist Ersin Çaksu in a new interview for Özgür Gündem. Berxwedan told Çaksu that all those who said that Kobanê ‘had fallen’ or ‘will fall’ had themselves be defeated, and that if a corridor is opened to the city ISIS will be entirely cleared from the area. Below is the full interview translated into English.
-We would like to thank you for taking some time for us in this very busy period. In the first place I want to ask why Kobanê is so important for ISIS. Why did it attack it with such force?
In our earlier interview we spent a lot of time around the question of why Kobanê was being targeted. The 19th of July Rojava Revolution began in Kobanê. Kobanê became a symbol of resistance and freedom. Kobanê also became an expression of the will of the Kurdish people in Rojava. The revolution began in Kobanê and spread to the rest of Rojava. For this reason Kobanê upset the plans of both certain international powers and certain regional powers who did want the Kurds to express their own will. From that day until now they have expended much effort in breaking and destroying that will. However they did reach their goal of a siege. They have been targeting Kobanê in particular for over a year and a half. So why Kobanê? Because Kobanê has no connection to the other regions. It has no physical connections to either the Cizîrê or Efrîn [cantons]. It is a region surrounded by the [ISIS] gangs. They thought that they could destroy Kobanê by surrounding it. The attacks that have developed for over a year and half were carried out toward this end. However they thought that they could break the will of Kobanê and make it fall very quickly. But they didn’t reach their goal. (more…)

Around 4000 PKK (Kurdistan Worker’s Party) and PAJK (Kurdistan Women’s Liberation Party) prisoners in 92 Turkish jails have started hunger strike in protest against the AKP government’s collaboration with the ISIS in face of the ongoing attacks of ISIS gangs on the Kurdish town of Kobanê in West Kurdistan, Rojava.
The indefinite and irreversible hunger strike launched by PAJK inmates in Gebze on 9 October has been joined by thousands of others in 92 jails as of 15 October.
Issuing a statement at the weekend on behalf of the prisoners, Deniz Kaya had said that; “As PAJK and PKK prisoners, we declare our solidarity with the YPG and YPJ fighters, and announce we are launching a hunger strike to condemn the AKP-ISIS
collaboration, the AKP police’s hostile attitude to our people’s uprising, and will continue this action as long as the threat of genocide hangs over Kobanê, as long as the AKP-ISIS collaboration continues and until the AKP government opens an aid corridor to Rojava. If our demands are not met, we will radicalise our action.”
Kaya also called on the Kurdish people to step up their solidarity with the heroic resistance in Kobanê and to expose the AKP-ISIS collaboration.

War against ISIS/Daesh: 13th October report of the battle for Kobane from YPG Media Center (Kurdistan)
Tuesday, October 14th, 2014
The unyielding resistance of Kobane continues for the 28th day as our strongmen and great people are fighting back against terrorists and writing heroic epics.
Terrorists affiliated to ISIS have raged attacks from three directions of Kobane city by all means; tanks, artillery and armored vehicles, however they could not advance after fierce clashes took place. Meanwhile ISIS thugs, this morning, attacked from the eastern front and border region, whereas they were repelled by YPG/YPJ fighters after severe clashes.
On the southern and southwestern front of Kobane city, ISIS terrorists carried out offensives against our units where violent clashes took place at close distance, as a result heavy losses were inflicted among them. At least 53 terrorists were killed, many others were wounded, a lot of ammunition including 21 AK 47 rifles, 2 pistols were seized by our units and many heavy weaponry and armored vehicles were destroyed.
As well, on the eastern front clashes have continued against the mercenaries, yesterday night until early morning, when they attempted to attack Kaniya Kurda area using a car-bomb which was targeted by our fighters and was destroyed. At the same time, a suicide attacker was killed and clashes erupted leading to 15 terrorists dead and a BKC machine gun, RPG launcher and 7 ISIS’s corpses seized by our forces and the battle continues. The following piece is translation of a new interview with Meysa Ebdo, a YPG/YPJ commander in Kobanê, in which she speaks about the course of the battle and its larger significance for the relations between Kurds and Turkey. It was conducted by Sedat Sur for ANF and carried by Özgür Gündem.
-The attacks of the ISIS gangs on Kobanê are entering their 24th day and fighting is now taking place in the city itself. Can you share a little about the current conditions inside Kobanê?
The attacks against us have been going on for around a year and a half. ISIS is now using all means at its disposal to attack us. Our people, together with the YPG/YPJ, have faced these attacks with a great spirit of resistance. We have lost martyrs in every village and on every hill. However our goal is protect our people and our land. The latest attacks began along five fronts at once. ISIS has gathered forces from around both Iraq and Syria and is attacking us savagely using its heaviest ground weapons against us. Our resistance has entered its 24th day and their goal and dream is to make Kobanê surrender. However, we as the YPG/YPJ and the Kurdish people have shown ourselves as a great example of resistance. The gangs have also suffered many blows and setbacks in Şengal (Sinjar), Maxmur and in the Cizirê Canton. This time they have once again directed their attacks against Kobanê which has been under embargo for a year and a half. They had dreams of entering into Kobanê for Eid. They said they would perform their Eid prayers in Kobanê however the sacrificial spirit and resistance of YPG fighters and the honorable stance exhibited by our people spoiled the dreams of ISIS.
